dazk , oh there's this one thread where someone complained that Kass is even in the game because it's not historically accurate; there're no women warriors or mercenaries. And comments on skin colour additions, etc, grumbles about Ubisoft being inclusive, SJW, etc. I was thinking as I read the thread; it's not a history game. It never claimed to be such. Why even nitpick about historical accuracy? The entire story is fiction. Right from AC #1, Ubisoft has always included that message about the devs comprised of various races, etc, etc. What's the problem with it now? It's better to hunt down all the cultists. Doing the main story will accomplish it anyway. If the devs put max spear level at 6, there's likely something really tough dropping in much later. Yep, killing the top mercenary doesn't mean protag is #1. Have to kill all the ones in front. I've started a third PT. I don't have other games on the horizon. The one other new game, Kingmaker, which I've started and dropped due to bugs, I cannot continue. I checked the thread and it's apparently still buggy so I'm waiting for the devs to iron them out. It'll probably take till next year before I'll touch it again. I'm focusing on hunter this time because I realise I relied rather heavily on the bow. Currently head-shotting mobs and got the engraving up to 16% adrenaline per headshot. Pretty blood pumping during the fight with Dei who again jumped on Kass out of the blue. This time she has one companion with her who's also a boss with a name; big hp bar. I headshot killed the companion while we were both dodging and moving. Btw, the new Cyclop is available. Oh yes, toggling autocraft for arrows is pressing the wheel of the mouse, isn't it? It doesn't work for me or is it something else? I am so over all the whingers about games. They are games FFS. So I just did the dad quest which was kinda cool but the modern day stuff is just such poor quality. So thought I'd continue doing the dad stuff and find the artifacts next. FYI I am now ranked 1 on the Merc list, I let my bounty get to level 4 and the 3 merc's in front of me all came to the Island I was on and they all died there. Yeah I think I will spec more for Hunter next PT, I am not sure why but my bow shooting has been pretty crap lately. I injured my right arm badly a few years back and basically the injury causes my forearm to get very tight and I have a nerve issue in my thumb. It has never really been an issue in gaming but in Odyssey I am missing shots that I really shouldn't. I struggle to get head shots even from stealth let alone deliberately going for headshots in normal combat. Not sure I am up for the cyclops, haven't even taken on the Minotaur yet. I find that prolonged combat tedious and stressful so I can only imagine how painful (for me) the Lightning dude will be. I thought auto-craft was just supposed to happen whenever you had enough supplies but I do not think it has ever done that for me. If so it was once and I always have enough stuff to craft them?????

If bow shooting stress the old injury, better not to opt for it. Use it when you're comfortable. I'm dominant with the right hand but I use the mouse with my left hand. Don't ask me why. I can't fathom it. It's just comfortable for me and feels right. If I use the mouse with my right hand, I feel awkward and out of sorts. Even when I play games like badminton or table tennis, etc, I can snatch the shuttlecock midair with my left. It's an auto reflex but I wouldn't do as well with my right; snatching stuff midair that is. I have loads of wood but it doesn't autocraft. The quiver menu has a line that says; toggle autocraft and showed an image of the wheel of the mouse. Unfortunately, pressing on the wheel does not do anything and this particular key cannot be rebind. It's an oversight which I hope they would correct.

I am not sure what it is about Odyssey that makes my forearm tighten up more than DAI or Skyrim when using the bow. It may actually be that I got a new chair a while ago and the arm rest is slightly higher but yeah it doesn't give me hardly any pain the muscle just tightens up. I am pretty ambidextrous myself but I play all my sports right handed but I used to be able to kick a ball equally well left or right foot. My kids like me play baseball, my daughter is solely right handed (as am I) but my son fields left handed and bats right but can bat left if he has too. He's playing badminton at school this year forgot to ask what hand he uses!!!!! Badminton is a hard sport, I played one season of doubles with a friend, man that was tough.!!!!! Yeah the auto-craft is definitely not working and I definitely have it set to work. Hey Obsidian Gryphon do I have to do Medusa and The Minotaur to get the artifacts for Atlantis? Not looking forward to those fights.

Hey Obsidian Gryphon do I have to do Medusa and The Minotaur to get the artifacts for Atlantis? Not looking forward to those fights. Yes, you have to fight those two to get the artifacts. The Sphinx is the easiest. I wish the modern part after all four were acquired can be skipped because I don't enjoy it and I disliked it very much because of how the result was dealt with. It makes me annoyed with whoever wrote the modern part and I don't think much of Layla at all.

Who you calling Malaka you Malaka!!!!! Sorry never knew about it myself you Malaka!!!!! Hehe, next time I am in Greece I might throw a "malaka" or two around. My Greek is pretty rubbish, but I have been visiting there semi-regularly for the past 20 years and guess which is the first word you learn that way 😂 They use it for everything from insult to affectionate greet. Btw, if you swim around with Layla instead of diving, you will realize you are actually still in the Ancient Greece map with all the ships, land and people. You can even fight a little with bare hands.

Yeah I had a look at the Sphinx stuff online and not too worried about that but I have seen the Medusa quest. Aaagghh I hate those type of attrition fights.

You know, it's high time for the citizens of Athens to file a formal complaint about their wall security. Do the authorities even realize how easy it is for someone, say like a misthios (with 5-star bounty already), to just stroll in, do half a wall round, kill 30 soldiers, loot hundreds of materials and steal around 30k drachmae worth of inventory? It's scandalous I tell you! Something must be done soon. Contact your representative now! And if anyone needs the statistics, contact me, I already did the research on the subject

Steropes was a pushover. I wondered if he’d drop me, since I play on Hard at 25%hp and fought him in the dark. The combat area was large. Against that for, and more confused space probably would’ve been more exciting. I time slowed and shot him in the eye immediately. Several Devastating Shots later he was dead. I did get hung up on some drift wood, once, and got hit. Fortunately, you cannot truly be one-shot killed in Odyssey, so I managed to escape. I also experience a bug in which I’d be aiming at Steropes and would suddenly be spun around 180 degrees. It was annoying, but didn’t save him.
I think my favorite fights are against the Minotaur and the Cyclops. The smaller zones make it more lively. The Medusa is the most dangerous, but the huge battlefield makes for a pretty easy, rinse and repeat battle.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s big update. I wish we were getting NG+; but this at least makes a new PT worthwhile. I can play as Alexios again and keep leveling beyond the first third of my playtime.

Soooo....
I’m in the Depths of the Forge under the Foundry of Hephaistos. There is a treasure to which I cannot find a path. It’s tagging as a purple/Epic piece. I’ve cleared the rest of the depths, and have completed the quest goal that brought me here. I wish I could find the damn trick. I hate leaving treasures unlooted. I guess I have the key to the door, now, so I can return later and give it another go.
The new quest is way better than “The Show Must Go On”. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s pretty solid. I’ve enjoyed it.
I got 8 skill points as a bonus for all of my post-50 XP. I immediately leveled up to 51 after completing a few contracts. The new Adrestia looks even meaner with that angular ram. I found a use for the Skylla figurehead after all: it looks pretty decent with the new Kerberos themed sail.
The new features are awesome, as I said in the other thread. All we’re missing is NG+.

The one I cannot access, after choosing “Poseidon/sharks”, is toward the south east side of the island, about 30m underground. I can see the damn thing through a broken, debris clogged door. I searched for a path to it for 20 minutes. I even scouted for an underwater entrance, which I knew full well didn’t exist. Again, I’m glad I’m not blind. I didn’t play a great deal today. I spent a long time playing dress up with my digital doll. 😂 When I finally broke free (with several relapses), I was able to knock out some jobs and advance to level 52. I’m starting to see Epic weapon’s that are substantially better than the legendaries. The standard perks level up on the way to 70. From what little I’ve seen, I’m not sure if legendary perks likewise level up further. I hope they do.

I changed to an epic Sword a few days ago as it was better than Nikolaos's sword and Prometheus's Sicha. It has 14% Assassin/20% Poison/15% Sword Bonus and I engraved weapon damage is poison damage and reset my abilities to include Poison Mastery etc. In the Arena with Skoura I was one hitting some combatants.

Elemental damage is the only way to go for basic weapon attacks. The difference between optimized elemental vs vanilla is insane. Poison or Fire: Don't leave home without one. I felt like my Hunter was just too damn good. With the 25%hp/+100% damage, it essentially trivialized the game. I briefly switched to a Fire Assassin build, but wasn’t feeling it. As soon as I got the update, I re-equipped the Hunter Demigod. I like Hunter, even if its melee ability is mostly ass. I intend to start a new PT, likely with a Hunter from level 1. I imagine it’s not so ridiculous without the Falx of Olympia perk. Now, I gotta decide between Alexios and Kassandra. I mildly dislike Alexios’ knuckle-dragged build, and don’t like his animations. For Kassandra, I’ve been with her for weeks. I will likely revisit Alexios and his awesome expressions and humor.

My fire damage has tanked hard after upgrading gear to level 51. Seems to be a bug going around for certain engravings that stops them working above level 50. I need a hotfix to be a Demigod of Fire again! A Demigod that can now run around Ancient Greece with a flaming sword and only a small towel/s covering his/hers oiled body! 😇
The new Adrestia upgrades are sick. I have been cleaving ships like a madman. Also noticed that the treasure chests on the enemy ships seem to not be nailed down, so when you cleave a ship the game physics can throw the chests anywhere. I had chests landing all over Adrestia's deck, even on the nose Ram part. One chest nearly hit Barnabas.
Also there is something awesome and eerie about cleaving a ship and then jumping underwater to look how both halves slowly sink at first and then start rapidly go into the dark sea depths, sometimes even rotating to a side on the way down. I never did that in Black flag, but if it was a feature there too, the sight must be even more magestic.

Guess what. The electrical trips killed the main drive. *sigh* I sent the pc to the shop and now it's back and I'm reinstalling OCOD. This old house is racking up the bills. Tech friend got me a battery so system won't shut down any more in future trips. It would give me time to close down the system properly.

Actually now you mention it I am maxed for poison damage and I did seem less effective in melee today when I changed to L51. Haven't tested out the Adrestia upgrades yet and am keen to see them now. Got a legend crew from Oikos today the death guys but otherwise he just gave me crap. Got a new horse from a mission:

Guess what. The electrical trips killed the main drive. *sigh* I sent the pc to the shop and now it's back and I'm reinstalling OCOD. This old house is racking up the bills. Tech friend got me a battery so system won't shut down any more in future trips. It would give me time to close down the system properly. Sorry about the HD but congrats on the battery.

It’s interesting you guys mention elemental damage bugs. I played a bit more with Kassandra today. She’s a hair’s breadth from Level 54. At 53, I got a chestpiece that was really good. It’s +Poison% was really high, so I engraved and equipped it. My poison damage immediately dropped by 30%. I was drowsy, so I just closed it and saved. Now, it seems pretty obvious that the higher leveled perks aren’t working. I wonder if it’s just poison and fire perks, or if other stuff is broken? I’ll have to load that save and reequip the level 50 chestpiece. I took some time to collect the handful of Ostraka solutions I’d not yet done. I think there were about 6 or 7 I had to get. They were spread across Greece, so I made a mini-Odyssey out of it. The only one I didn’t solve out of the entire set is the “tree atop the palace at Knossos”. There are plenty of such trees, but none hold a prize. The tree in question is actually to the south atop a hill, not really all that close to Knossos. Thanks, Google, for your help on that one. That pushed most of my engraving perks to their maximum values, and now they might be bugged. Great. dazk , those new ship upgrades are insane. Like saandrig was saying, they’re really powerful. I imagine they’re targeted at Level 70 ships, so our current foes stand no chance. That angular, metal ram (that was previously only seen on Alpha ships) changes the appearance of Adrestia quite a bit. I think the huge, intricate figureheads now look better than previously. I’ve actually been using Skylla, since she’s no longer too big for the ship. I even looked at the accompanying sail/appearance in the Store, but meh. Its color scheme is perfect for my taste. Black wood with dark blue and white detailing is great. For some reason, though, they doubled down on Skylla and forgot Charybdis. The sail should feature him instead of Skylla. It could’ve had a kraken with a gaping maw, or a vortex with stylized tentacles. Even a crazy, hurricane-shaped vortex would be cool. The Skylla sail just doesn’t do it for me. Alas, they still get no MT money from me. If only they’d create something as awesome as Sand Dweller, the ancient world’s most stylish camel, I might cave. He was well worth the $5 I spent on him. I am about to start anew with Alexios. It will be cool to hit Level 70 somewhere in the middle of the game. I think I typically hit 50 in Attika, so I’ll be expecting 70 sometime during the hunt for mom. I might go a few places earlier this time. I now recall specifically where most legendary chests are found. I might chase some items to get my build nailed down earlier. I can’t decide what that will be, though: Fire Warrior, Assassin or Hunter.

Anyone have an issue with killing a mercenary and the game not registering it? I killed two yesterday that are now showing as alive in the Mercenaries TAB: Odainthous the Flower and Chrysanthe the Brittle.
Also why do some you have to confirm the kill and others not?

dazk , if it's a bounty, the kill must be confirmed. Quests like bounty on Spartan / Athenian soldiers also need a kill confirm but this depends on the wording; if it's a specific soldier or just a camp. If it's the latter, killing everyone in the camp is good enough. I have not encountered any issue with mercenary deaths yet.

No they weren't bounties I don't do those quests if you mean the ones on the boards. They were Mercenaries that came to a fort because the signal fire was lit as I blew my stealth - DOH.
