Fancy chest with no loot???? Had it already been looted...? Which reminds me, has anyone else noticed that in the Epic Ship of the Week quests, some of the chests on the main and support ships are already looted? These quests repeat, but don't always fully restock.

I dunno, I think the shot in the middle is pretty epic. Thanks. (Of course, in my head I'm thinking - damn... if I just had Kass explode 7/8 ft back, throw everyone forward, use the railing gap for sun, blah, blah... )

Which reminds me, has anyone else noticed that in the Epic Ship of the Week quests, some of the chests on the main and support ships are already looted? These quests repeat, but don't always fully restock. I came upon a sight I must have been to before and it said I had missed one chest and not killed the leader who happened to be an Ancient One. I figure the game must have a trigger point for when LoTFB becomes available and that that site must have populated then with the extra chest and Leader. The chest I assume was empty as it was a piece of Legendary gear I had and it was L99. The Epic Ship of The Week I THINK has been just giving me resources same as the ones I come across that I already have the sails or figureheads for. It often tells me in the ship inventory that I have a new figurehead what ever but I don't.

Picked up another piece of the Helios(?) set (I think) - so I can finally have that awesome halo! Just a couple of quick happy-snaps today. I love the Helios Set but I wish the whole Corona, hair and eyes thing weren't attached to the Chest Piece. Thought it was cool at first but it just became weird looking. Great pic. Hrungr

I have a question about legendary gear. It seems like individual pieces of a given set could have very different level requirements, so that by the time you acquire the last piece, the first few that you got would either be far below your level, or you'd have to spend a lot of money to upgrade the lowest pieces. Does the armor set bonus really offset this disadvantage?
For a concrete example, Kassandra is wearing 4 of the 5 pieces of Agamemnon's armor because I went on a Silver Vein cultist hunt. However, when I looked to see where to get the clue for the last cultist, I realized he is in a mid-40s level area. Kassandra is level 32 and the lowest piece of the armor in the set is around level 26. So by the time I get the helmet, part of the set will be 20 levels below, and I don't even want to think about how much that will cost to upgrade.
So...worth collecting the entire set to actually use? Worth collecting some sets but not others? Not worth collecting except for completionist purposes?

Big bonuses to Crit Chance or Crit Damage. Heal on hit worked wonders with a quick weapon like daggers or a sword. Whether it's "worth it", though will probably come down to personal preference. I will probably end up wearing the Amazon set because Kass looking like Wonder Woman is my everything.

Sets are great if you want a specific build, The Pirate set is great for a build that will let you kill anything with one hit using assassin abilities. That's what I use now but not full CRIT, I have buffed my resistances to make me not so easy to kill in melee. The Greek Heroes set gives you +20% to all resistances so is great for a warrior build that adding to the resistances with engravings you can pretty much be un-kill able but but you will not do a great deal of damage. So the sets tend to enhance one thing but to the detriment of the others. I think with the Legendary gear, every time you get a new piece of a set that the rest of the gear levels up to that piece or it might be when you get the last piece it does that. Essentially you can make a better build using the Purple gear but you have to keep an eye out at every blacksmith to try and find the exact piece that suits what you are trying to achieve or get lucky with RNG. saandrig is good with this stuff.

It often tells me in the ship inventory that I have a new figurehead what ever but I don't. What I've run into were (regular) chests that were ajar and already looted. Not all, just on some ships. I love the Helios Set but I wish the whole Corona, hair and eyes thing weren't attached to the Chest Piece. Thought it was cool at first but it just became weird looking. Great pic. Hrungr Tx! And I agree that chest piece is... not great on Kassandra. And oddly, you need both the chest and the head piece to get the halo effect.

Essentially you can make a better build using the Purple gear but you have to keep an eye out at every blacksmith to try and find the exact piece that suits what you are trying to achieve or get lucky with RNG. saandrig is good with this stuff. Yeah, I've found that there's really only a few legendary sets that are worth it, the rest you can ignore. The Pirate set being one of, if not the best Legendary set, but it depends on your playstyle too. Sometimes it's handy having a particular set around for a specific purpose. For example, the Pilgrim set isn't that great combat-wise, but unlimited use of invisibility? There's times where that's very handy. But as dazk points out, your best builds will actually come from Epic/Purple gear. But, you will have to keep an eye on what you pick up and hunt pieces down from blacksmiths. All of my main armor sets come from Epic pieces. The Legendary gear I have is just for transmog/appearance. For example, my (Epic) Assassin piecemeal set gives me 100% crit chance at full health, and something like +750% crit damage. I nearly one-shot Steropes. I might actually be able to do with the my most updated set.

So...worth collecting the entire set to actually use? Worth collecting some sets but not others? Not worth collecting except for completionist purposes? Well when you collect a whole set you unlock a weaker version of the set bonus as an engraving. So it's worth it. But Epic gear is actually better, if you don't mind grinding them out (random rolls on engravings).

I appreciate all the advice about gear! I didn't realize that collecting a whole set is what unlocks those engravings, so I'll keep an eye out for missing pieces just for that, and not worry so much about the whole set being wearable at once. ---------------- I did some side quests and hunted down a lot of cultists yesterday and today. I helped out crazy-eyes here and killed her cultist father. Upgraded the spear to level 5. Climbed the tallest mountain I've found so far, which Kassandra argued is the best view in Greece, and was rewarded with some shiny rocks. I don't remember whose roof this is, but I really want to fix that tile. Helped Sokrates with a small legal matter even though he didn't really want help. Surprised she's still alive. I wonder how much trouble I'm getting her into now? Then it was back to the main quest for a while. Kassandra mouthed off to one of the kings. She'll behave better from now on, probably. After finishing some errands for Brasidas (who can't believe that either king is a cultist...sure), Kassandra went to fetch an Olympic champion. And it went... swimmingly. This quest had the best facial expressions

The gear updates weekly on Wednesdays for me in Australia.

This quest had the best facial expressions This was one of those quests when I had a hard time remembering that this is an Assassin's Creed game and not an antique Greece GTA. Just the name of the guy, though I have to admit, it took me way too long to get the joke.
He has a great cameo in one of the DLCs as well.

I really didn't mean to be condescending with that comment, I just wanted to make sure you knew so I hope I didn't offend you. Don't be shy spending it, I regret not using it sooner. Also if you can get in the habit of doing the daily Ori quest, they appear on the message boards with the blue Ori symbol as they are usually pretty short and easy. Doing the weekly gives you heaps but they can be onerous however it will make you experiment with other abilities and weapons. One of the best things about the shop is it offers up Legendary Lieutenants which really help with the ship combat, this weeks one is OK "Odysseus" he helps with rowing stamina but some offer 30% "Ship Health" or "Ship Armour" and others enhance Javelin or Arrow damage. You can also pick up some good cosmetic things like sails, figureheads and also Armour and weapons.

So yesterday lots more roaming, did Phidias statue quest and then returned to the Ancient Stronghold to get the chest that was gated there. killed many mercenaries and recruited some, one I fought for ages and just as I got her close to knocked out a damn Boar attacked her and killed her. Did some shopping and Got Odysseus and a terrible looking Boar Horse, blew some Ori on the lucky dip and came up with nothing useful. Mucked around with Lieutenants and Ship sails and crew and eventually just went back to Great Fang. Then on to the Weekly which was easy for the Daughters of Artemis, just went to their big camp on Chios I think it is but the Followers of Ares are harder. Discovered the key is o look for caves that when you hover the mouse over it says Kill The Clan Chief as an objective. Was still a bit of a pain but if anyone wants to know I found a group of 6 I think in the cave of Kratos north of Phokis and another large group in the "Entrance to The Underworld" which is in Attika. Kass Ugly Horse Almost fell in this hole of fire Amazing who you bump into but can't interact with when hunting cultists

So last couple of days haven't much time to play but my main aim has been just to clear "?" and do whatever crossed my path and daily's and weekly's. So started yesterday and walked straight into an animal ambush!!! Rescued civilians being attacked by Wolves Got spotted by a guard with X-Ray vision Spartan kicked a guy of a wall Checked out the scenery

I've played quite a bit the last few days and took more screenshots than I care to admit, so here is a brief summary. Kassandra insulted Alkibiades' taste in poisoned wine. Did some sightseeing with #1 fan Barnabas. Testikles' special oil came in handy. To make Kassandra shiny and fragrant, I guess. Helped out a playwright who knew me even though I have no memory of meeting him before. He wasn't interested in Kassandra's insight about her own grandfather. Then helped some villagers who were worshiping Kassandra. Their priestess looks totally legit Had a beautiful family reunion. More. Side quests. I should give up on this "mean Kassandra" idea I had. It isn't happening. The former oracle lived. More family bonding! Brought a scary monster to life and got a figurehead for the Adrestia (finally)! Visited absentee dad and learned more about the Isu (??) This scene gave me warm fuzzies! Almost immediately after that, Kassandra ran into Alkibiades. Again. It was nice to see a friendly face, at least. Then Kassandra helped out this delightful nerd who looks exactly like Henry Green. He didn't want to be friends. Poor guy can't catch a break. Went all over the map hunting down math. Kassandra's absentee father knew nothing about the Pythagorean theorem. I tried to ask. (I know. Pythagoras himself didn't really come up with the Pythagorean theorem, but this game is full of make-believe anyway. Come on, Ubisoft ) Here's Pythagoras saying nothing at all about the squares of the legs of a right triangle. I'm currently in the middle of helping out this village of cursed idiots. Kassandra has dealt with the "pirates" with the unnecessary help of some Spartan ships and has, um..."helped" the blacksmith.

Sooooo... I've noticed lots of hate for Layla. Will I understand why by the time I finish Odyssey?
