Sooooo... I've noticed lots of hate for Layla. Will I understand why by the time I finish Odyssey? Yes, if you play the Fate of Atlantis DLC.

Not doing much story wise the last couple days. Mostly riding/running around clearing camps/forts. Enjoying the scenery. Did do the quests for Barnabas. The end bugged on me I took the guy from the siren cave back to the cyclops dude and he wasn't there so I didn't get the scene of them being friends and fishing together I did it exactly like I did it the first time but....*shrug* Anyways, more beautiful game!
Hey KFK, nice pic's I saw heaps of yours on the map the last few days just roaming around and one that got 58 , well done. The Barnabas wife quest bugged like that for me to, last time. I think you have to make sure you do the Cyren right before you do the the Cyclops one and go straight there which means doing the Witch one first. However I did that once and the game bugged and wouldn't let me interact with the witch at all. So the quest has been very buggy for me. Aw, thank you
I didn't know how many likes I had on any of my pics so I looked on the photo site and I had one that has 120 something! :-o

I have been trying to play when my hands allow it. I've neglected the story for a long time so next time I play I'll probably get back to it. So, I've been doing ? clearing and some side quests I pick up from NPCs with the random legendary animal or boss thrown in. So, mostly just scenery shots, because I can't stop myself.

Personally, I'm not invested enough in the character to hate her This. I couldn't care less about the modern day stuff. It shouldn't even be playable, as far as I'm concerned (and it barely is). Should just be cutscenes that serve as a means to advance the story.

Thanks for the info Right now Layla and the other modern characters are just boring interruptions of my game, without enough substance for me to like or hate them, so I figured I'd missed something somehow. I did end up buying the season pass with both DLC (plus AC 3), so I'll play Atlantis eventually. I'm assuming it's best to do so after the endgame?

With the base game, she was actually my favorite MD protagonist. But then those accursed DLCs happened. First ruined the past, the second the present.

So just jumped in and did the daily which was for me to kill a leader. The wekly is a ship and to kill spartan soldiers by assassination/with maces/with charged melee attack IIRC. Herakles as a Lieutenant and a bow are available at the shop, I have the bow but bought Herakles. It was so easy to jump back into ACOD. Haven't been playing HZD much as I have been unwell, will hopefully make some more progress this afternoon if I am feeling better.

I had planned to get HZD after finishing this game, but I think I'll wait until they work out the bugs. Although maybe they will have by the time I'm ready to play it. I've only had short gaming sessions the last few days. I finished helping the village of idiots and killed The Chicken Bearer. Then went to Arkadia and finished that questline as fast as I could, so I could get rid of the permanent(?) bounty. The cultist was very easy to get to. He isn't a cultist anymore Found some apparent old friend of Kassandra's who the game really wanted Kassandra to romance, despite my not picking any flirt options and only choosing one of her favorite foods (it sounded good ). No option to tell her that Kassandra is just not interested in being her lover nor mom #2 to her annoying child. This, in Kassandra's worldview, is how farmers routinely kill chickens for consumption. I'm...strangely happy to see him? The last of the Lost Tales quests was for none other than Barnabas! Yay! Wonder what would have happened if I'd found this guy after visiting Polyphemos? Would they have stayed in the sirens' cave together?? Daaaaaw! Aaaaand found Leda!

Hrungr have you done the weekly yet, if so what is it and is the loot any good? Trying to decide whether to bother. This week its a legendary Bow for 100 and a crew member for another 100 (can't think of their names off the top of my head). The weekly for me was killing a named ship for one, and the second was assassinate 10 Spartans, heavy blunt on 15 Spartans, and charged attack on 10 Spartans.

Well after clocking up 1000 hours I had put Odyssey aside for the last 8 months. i.imgur.com/JVgXZMQ.jpgYesterday I logged in and bought the Northern Traveler set from Club Rewards, thought I'd do the weekly and buy something from Oikos' 8 months away and still I already had what he was selling. i.imgur.com/K8rLiUF.jpgSo now I've started playing this... i.imgur.com/dMCC1TB.jpg

Yesterday, I rather suddenly and unexpectedly finished the main family story of the game, and I have...thoughts . There is something very off about the pacing near the end of this story arc. During Alexios's conversation with Kassandra while she is in Athenian prison, I managed to convince him that they were both abandoned (the second time I did the cutscene ) and he seemed to thaw a bit towards her, at least. Then, a few short missions later, I'm sailing across the stinkin map to talk to Brasidas and join him in another battle, where he dies with little fanfare or reaction from Kassandra, and where Alexios shows no sign of remembering their earlier conversation, no hesitation over what he is doing, no acknowledgement of any kind. And then Kleon shoots him in the back, which Kassandra also doesn't react much to. Kassandra kills Kleon, and he goes down easier than any mercenary I've had the displeasure of meeting. The next quest pops up saying that Kassandra needs to go back to where it all began, and I think, this must be where the game ramps up to its climax, where Kassandra realizes what must be done to save her family and end the cult, and begins to execute her plan. It felt a lot like going to Cerberus HQ in ME3, or the Arbor Wilds in DAI. You just know shit's about to go down. I wasn't at all surprised to see Alexios on that cliff, but I was kind of shocked speechless that all it took to turn him from murderous rage to "group hug" was Kassandra apologizing for not saving him when she was 9, and showing him the spear. After everything they went through, all the cult's brainwashing, that was it. I realize Kassandra's earlier actions influenced the ending as well, but since Alexios doesn't seem to acknowledge any of that at the beginning of the cutscene nor in the scene before, it just didn't work for me. At all. Then, I was sure that while the family arc ended strangely, surely now we were still ramping up to the actual end of the game. Kassandra and Alexios were now going to work together to hunt down the leader of the cult and bring them to an end. But nope! Cheesy family dinner that felt totally out of place at that point in the game, some mostly-friendly rivalry between Alexios and Stentor, and a pop-up about NG+ WTF? I still need to hunt down the remaining cultists, plus find (defeat? kill?) three more mythical beasts for Real Dad, but I just...I don't even know. Did anyone else feel this way? Am I missing something here?

Am I missing something here? Yeah the ending is not all that it could have been and it purely depends on a few choices like killing Nikalaos or not and a few re Stentor but overall it comes down to some dialogue choices with mum and Alexios. Imagine the shock if you had gotten a dialogue choice wrong and Alexios kills Myrinne and you have to fight The pacing is very off as well, basically you can start the family story and do about 10hrs of chasing down Myrinne and can then complete 80 to 100hrs of other content and comeback for 10 hours of the rest of the game. It's a bit disappointing but it is for a Ubisoft and an Assassins Creed game another step forward into RPG's but certainly only a pass mark in terms of main story depth and content.

Yeah, it's just too bad. I thought they had done such a good job making a very involved and engaging RPG until...that. I'll finish the game and the DLCs since I bought them, but I doubt it's one I'll replay unless the remaining story lines blow me away. It's just too long of a game for such a small emotional payout at the end.

I found it fun to play again, just using a different build as an indestructible warrior and the second PT is far faster playing NG+. I played again as Kassandra and also once as Alexios.
