I made the most progress in a day Tonight. Went from lvl 32 to halfway to 39. I finally got to pehpka, killed the Minotaur, did all the quests on there and got the arena thing started.
The Minotaur questline is my favorite so far, I didn't even think the game had a boss like that till I got my ass whopped the first go around. I used thesus's armor since it happened to be bigger than everything else I was wearing, but I do wonder if you "need" to wear the set. Had it not been the best thing I had, I would've given that a try just to see what happens. The Minotaur was actually 4 lvls higher than me to do Everytime I got hit, I lost half my health so I had to use my bow for the first time in an extended period. It sucks whittling down health that way, but I could barely get 2 hits on it with my sword without it tossing me around.
I also looked up my stats for the first time.
Main progress is at 49.99% Map coverage is around 47% I've killed over 2,300 people (87 mercenaries do far) My ship progression is at 87% And I've got 49 hours played.
I think I'd definitely be bigger in lvl if I did more side quests, but so much of it Is repetitive junk.
I also ran Into issues. Maybe it was just running the XBX for 8-9 hours straight, but at some point, faces started blurring out, mouths wouldn't move when talking and some eyes would turn red, it was some freaky stuff going on. Furthermore when I went to progress the daughters of Artemis and the Persian blind king quest lines, it reset the entire progression back to 0. I'm actually having an issue talking to Daphne where she won't acknowledge the other pelts I've collected besides the boar. That or you're supposed to turn in all the pelts at once 🤷. I'll see if this stuff fixes itself out tomorrow with the Xbox cooling off.
Back to Athens tomorrow! (I'm tired of island hopping).

Finished the Arena Quest, level 50 ver. OMG, that ending. I didnt want to do it but it had to be done. You'll see when it happens.
Currently 49 1/2. Been chasing "all over Greece" bounties for really good cash, played some conflicts, one of the Night Lady Quests has me sailing her to a different island all together so your ship can get other passengers. Neat.
Ill eventually get back to the main plot when I hit 50, that way Ill get the most 50 trash for my own breakdown mats. The Ship only needs 4 more things to be all gold class. Wooo!

I’ve spent the bulk of another day playing this game. I have to think way back to recall all I’ve done today. I hunted the cult in earnest today, and they’re nearing extinction. There are a few “out of order” cultists who must be part of the main story because I’ve yet to get clues for them. Over half of the branches are completely extinguished; the rest are withering. I cleared Attica, leaving only Elis and Lakonia on the Peloponnesus. I then headed back to sea, hitting Chios (which is stunning) and Lesbos (the seat of authority in the Petrified Isles). I played so late, greedily squeezing in “just a few more minutes” so many times that I’ve awoken my wife. I’ll have to hear about that in the morning, no doubt. (It really was stupid. I never should’ve played in the same room where she’s sleeping. Very poor choice.) I’ve been sailing with my Octopus sail and figurehead. It looks badass, both in color and design. I’m so glad I saw the Twitch offer to grab that pack. I got spoiled by the very game itself. If you collect the Cult of Cosmos crew, DO NOT read the description. Dumbasses put a major spoiler in the description. It needs a patch ASAP, in my opinion. I’ll have the Isu storyline very far advanced early tomorrow. I’m collecting the final piece to that puzzle (as far as I know) as soon as I boot up the console. I was actually moments from getting it when my furious button pressing awakened my wife. Oops. I think I’ll finish the northern islands, head back to Thera, and then on to Elis. I’m saving Lakonia (and the next stage in the main quest) for as long as possible. I’ve not yet visited Makedonia. I assume I’ll be given a reason to do so, though I really don’t need one. From a mechanical angle, I’ve decided to mix up my skills after switching my primary gear. I’m using the Armor of Achilles set that I’d been craving since level one. It looks really good, though I’d change a few small details. It looks totally badass in cutscenes, too. It’s powerful for a warrior player, and I optimized a bit around fire damage and assassination damage. I now one-shot most enemies when using an assassination skill or a “kill from above”. Warrior damage is high, too, and both my primary melee and bow are fire weapons. As a secondary melee, I use one of two items. The Soear if Poseidon allows you to breathe underwater. It also has great range versus sharks, so it’s a no-brained when going underwater. My main secondary, though, is the Xiphos of Peleus. It bumps my Assassin damage and my adrenaline generation. It also dramatically boosts the damage of Rush Assassination, the excellent, chaining teleportation skill. Add the -1 Adrenaline to Overpower and you have the ultimate perks for a backup weapon. (I’m case you’d not noticed, the perks of each of your weapons is “always on”. You don’t have to be actively wielding something to gain the boons. Excellent.) I use the bow quite a bit and get good performance with virtually no optimization. I’ve evolved the passive skills, Overpower and two actives (Ghost Arrows and Devastating Shot). I can imagine how badass an archer would be if I optimized for it. Let’s talk about the Ring of Chaos melee skill. Holy crap! I noticed I was never using Spartan kick. It just felt very niche and mostly useless. Same for the assassin skill Shadow of Nyx. (I can’t even remain invisible while stealing. WTH?) When I respecced most recently I ditched some dead weight and added some new abilities. Ring of Chaos is freaking incredible. It’s a powerful AOE with awesome visuals and audio. It ignores shields, hurls enemies and typically takes half a health bar off of a level 50 foe. If that weren’t good enough, it stuns them! They peel themselves slowly off the ground, rubbing their heads. I guess getting blasted with a PoE is rough. (Reminds me of Desmond walking out of Abstergo, with his dad, like a boss. I also added Vanish, and it seems useful. In addition, I added Slow Time and Call to Arms. Honestly, if I get pulled into battle, I quickly flip from my “assassin” wheel to my “warrior” wheel. This means that most of the abilities on the second page, excepting Rush Assassination, rarely get used. My combat wheel, clockwise from the top, is Heal, Hero Strike, Ring of Chaos and Shield Breaker. My “assassination/utility” wheel is Call to Arms, Rush Assassination, Vanish and Slow Time. This setup is great for a sneaky killer who can chop up crowds, bosses and crowds of bosses when need be. I can see building completely differently, too, since there are so many good skills and varying approaches to combat. All of the mythological and superhero stuff that had me worried prerelease is admittedly a lot of fun. It is worked into the setting in a very cool way that bolsters, rather than undermining, the lore of the setting. The real question is whether we can go back to life as a mere mortal with mundane gear after this entry in the series. Does every hero now need to be a demigod armed with a PoE? One last thought on the mythological angle: Oikos merchant hooked me up! I got the Pegasos skin for 20 orichalcum. It’s not just cosmetic, either. You can ride that winged beast off a mountain and he’ll flap his wings and gracefully land. No more dead, broken horses at the bottom of a questionable jump. I’m at the point where I’m not sure if I’ll ever use another mount. It’s a fantasy creature, but I just tell myself that the wings are actually the spear at work and that Aleksios is the only one not seeing a mundane horse. 😆

I just did a quest in which you have to rescue some wolves. I don’t know if some soldier killed one of them or it’s because they made me a target, but I didn’t touch a single one and Kassandra said that she have to kill some to protect herself and the huntress scolded her. Tsc
And I'm taking my time explore and done all the other regions before really dive into the story. I delivered and let the contestant die and now I'm doing the islands of the north. After that, I'll only have to Elis, Arkadia and Achaia.
But I already killed 3 of the fours mythical creatures: Sphinx, Minotaur(thank goodness the labyrinth was small) and Cyclops. And 3 cuktists quest lines, about to kill the fourth one.

I have had one aberrant dialogue option, and a couple of hilarious quest-giver events. When on Chios, I murdered everyone in the Children of Artemis camp. I was testing out my newly reoptimized gear. 😒 When I spoke with Bryce on Lesbos, she asked if I'd hurt anyone to get the item. The options were: "Lie- Killed them in their sleep." "Truth- I didn't hurt anyone." Ugh, okay. Definitely didn't hurt anyone. Just after receiving a quest on Chios, the camera pulled back to gameplay position. Before I could even move, a wolf jumped into the scene like Superman, killing the quest-giver instantly. I quickly cut it down, and it fell next to the dead woman, both beginning to burn. It was so sudden that it was shocking and funny. Another wolf on Chios Supermanned off of an escarpment, dead level with Phobos, killing him instantly. Chios wolves are great jumpers and deadly killers! I'd had a quest in Argos (I think) ages ago. I tried three times to do the quest. Each time the questgiver died before I could get to her, killed by wildlife the first and third time, killed by a fire started by my flaming sword on the second attempt. I realized that it was definitely her time to die and just moved in with my life.

I don't know what difficulty your on though. I was on normal, but went for easy. The most difficult part was when she summoned the stone soldiers and on top of that, she keeps firing those beams. One mistake and your health melts. When she’s alone, it’s manageable, just using explosive arrows.

The final two batches of stone soldiers she sent after me were rough. I was on the ropes a few times, but pulled through without dying on my first try.
So, I went on to complete the Isu storyline, and it seems to be an ending to the game. It’s not the ending, of course, but an ending. I will save this for later on my next run. It had an unforeseen impact upon the game that I’d rather save for later.
I’ve 100% all the islands in Greece. There is a single thing on Lemnos that tells me the story will send me back there. I have yet to visit Elis, Lakonia and Makedonia. I’m sailing to Elis now, then on toward the end.
Edit: Oops. I keep forgetting about little Messina. They’ll get a visit as well.
Edit #2: Okay, false alarm. It looked as if Barnabas and Herodotus had left my ship post-Thera. They’ve now reappeared, though, so... okay. Herodotus sat his ass down out of the way, finally!

It had an unforeseen impact upon the game that I’d rather save for later. Just did the Isu story as well and came to say the same as you. I feel it was meant to be finished last and definitely will be in my next runs. Of course I still need to finish the main story and see how it goes. Just need one more cultist for the last spear upgrade and he is a main story guy. And a couple of islands to visit.

I just finished The Blind King, or rather tried to and encountered a quest-breaking bug. I’ll briefly detail, since it’s no big spoiler. The King rewards you with the location of a treasure in the Tomb of Ajax on Salamis. The bug occurs if you’ve already looted that tomb. Seeing as Salamis is accessible long before this quest can realistically end, it’s a bug most will encounter. I’m not sure what I missed, but I only care if the reward is legendary. I’ll grab this in the inevitable NG+. Hopefully they’ll patch this by then.

The blind king item is a sellable loot item for about 3500 bucks. I didnt loot the tomb before hand. Because when I was finishing the Blind King stuff I hadnt gone on my globe trotting treasure fest. That happened after finding all the bird sync locations. IE: Its a gold item for your sellable item category. So not a weapon or piece of armor. Things I’ve done as level 50 now: Continue Main Story. Because the Rest of the Triangles are tangled up in those last bits. - Last bit of Arena story, Hunting all the Big Animals Story, patterns of Disaster that is Socrates. I am sensing a Pattern of Sadness.
Que its “A Hard Knock Life” for Alexios and Kassandra. Dear god, these NPCs around those two really love that Greek trad-edgy.
My Horse is Amazing.
My Ship is Amazing.
On the Hunt for more epic weapons. WEEEEE!
Bird is flying Disaster. Fly free Ikaros.
The Northern Islands are Insane in different ways from the Southern Islands.
Barnabas, you scoundrel. Awww, ok, Ill recruit that one. Because you want it.
411 on family drama llama.
I think I destroyed all the special ships now. Hey weeklies, add more so I can have even more custom options.
Got new crew themes from Big Hunt Animal Quest and from Arena Quest. So if thats your jam….live long and prosper.
Sidenote: I’m a pirate and thats ok, I hunt all night and sleep all day.

Finally managed to borrow a laptop where there is some internet access. I am so jealous that I am stuck on L16 in Phokis and seeing all you lucky people who have finished or are nearing finishing. So looking forward to getting back home and playing again. Trying to not read too much spoily stuff but it has been great to read lots of interesting stuff that I'll be able to utilise when I get back.

Yeah, whoever designed the northern islands is not the same person responsible for the southern ones.
Quests stretched back and forth instead of being concentrated well, first time I see island hopping as a requirement too. It's all the bad things a designer does to artificially lenghten the game time. I would understand if it was in a short game, but why here? Especially after it's mostly well avoided up to this point in the game.
Edit: I am stupid. Just found out by accident that when buying materials from the blacksmith you don't have to hold the button until it reaches the max of, say, the 400 wood you want. It's slow. Instead you can get to 100 or even lower and then just do a few quick clicks to buy all since the counter doesn't reset after you buy and remains at the same number. It's way faster that way. After I discovered that I went on a "quick travel" shopping spree. Kassandra raided every blacksmith in ancient Greece throwing craploads of gold and shouting "GIMME!". If historians discover there was a money inflation and shortage of materials in that era, I can tell you why.

Update on my progression: either it's starting to really then into a grind, or I really didn't do much but it's definitely taking longer to lvl now. I'm up to 54 hours of play time and lvl 40 and a half.
I got back to Athens to find the plague infesting it and I watched Phoebe get murdered 😢. What I'm confused about is what happened to the Spartans that had the city surrounded? And why couldn't I aid them by infiltration? It just seems pointless to have them there if the city instead falls by plague and the cult.
I also found momma as I'm calling her and I already cleared the Naxos area. Soon after I went on my way to help Kyra on mythonos (again, I'm most likely butchering these names) till o guess it bugged out, I gave her the doll and she said she needed time to think, I skipped 3 or 4 days ahead and the quest hasn't progressed, I'll get into the bugs at the end as now it's actually starting to piss me off. I also found the biological father to kassandra and Atlantis and that's where I stopped. I guess I'll head to Sparta today to start that question line series.
As for the bugs: it wasn't too much of am issue at first, some were even funny. However now it's getting to where it's pissing me off like I said earlier.
So I'm pretty sure I have a few questlines bugged (and I've mentioned some examples earlier where conversations reset as if I've never talked to Npcs before and I have to go back through all the dialogue to get to current progression back. I've had issues where treasure is 500 feet into the ground and there are no god damn caves go get to them or when I'm at a ship wreck. Hard to 100% things when this happens and it's happened more than once.
Out of curiosity, is the ISU questline involving the artifacts that you put into the do hickies? Where biological father is? If so good to know that I can save that for last 👍

Some treasure chests do look deep underground/water with no visible access to them but for me there is always a way to get them if you search harder.
On another note, I find it funny how the game portrays the thoughts and actions of an average ancient Greek civilian:
"By the Gods, this woman just fell from the sky with a shockwave landing bang, shot 8 people with a single arrow, manhandled a heavy armored Mercenary three times her size in a second, lit her huge heavy weapon on fire by using just her fingers, destroyed a huge ass shield just with one hand, shot an arrow through the walls of a house, went invisible and then started teleporting all around stabbing elite Spartan soldiers... Wife, bring me my shovel and get your broom. We are so going to gank her!!!"

5:00 min in is when stuff actually starts. I like ramming things.
From the 9:00 min timestamp onward it becomes a big cluster of a ship battle.
Didnt really edit, just threw this up just because. I usually go back and forth on crew setups. My favorite themes are the warriors you get from the arena and the ares people you get from one of the deep dives.

This weekly is crazy, but here's some tips: I farm Athens Conquest camps. Dont accept a side, just kill the people in the camp, theres usually 2-3 marksmen there. The questgiver is immune and wont aggro you. At the arena, one of the bosses, has one or two in the 4 waves. Go to forts, let them light the brazer, usually one or two more marksmen show up. 8 out of 15 marksmen down. Archers are easier. Hell, even the spartan captains are easier to find.

Where does it show the progress the player has made? Where to check what percentage of each island has been completed?

I did a few quests and it seems now I just need 9 more marksmen. I guess they are not in conquest battles or it would have been too easy.
Fooled around with a full Warrior build. Some neat discoveries that the game never told me about:
You can Parry arrows. In fact if you Parry a fire arrow it might deflect into a nearby enemy and set him on fire.
Shooting an enemy on fire with a poison arrow makes an explosion.
Further tests based on the above revealed that shooting a poison arrow in a camp fire also makes explosions.
Some SoB's are immune to the Spartan kick. The shield breaker though knocks everything.
You can fight with bare hands and beat the crap out of anyone with your fists. It knocks them down without killing.

Where does it show the progress the player has made? Where to check what percentage of each island has been completed? Your stats can be viewed in the UClub. I’m not sure that it gives a percentage per location, though earlier games with in-game tracking did so. I’ve stayed up crazy late for several nights to make it happen, and my Odyssey has ended. I just finished the game 100%. I even got the Platinum on my first PT with no clean up. (I got really lucky on one trophy that was impossible to foresee.) It was a very good ride. It took 140 hours 46 min, according to a save I just made. The Club is down, so I can’t provide any more stats at present. I achieved all of my goals, which is something I wasn’t sure the story would allow, so that was cool. I’m finally in a position to discuss serious spoilers. Even though this is the spoiler thread, I fear ruining the game for someone else. 😆 We’ve been tiptoeing around spoilers even here, so I’ll tread lightly for now. I need to get some sleep. I’ll be back tomorrow to check up on this thread. I look forward to reading everyone’s thoughts as they progress and finish.

Level 35 now and meandering all over the map. I have to say I'm confused by the Cultist quest. At one point, while in the market, I get a msg that there's a cultist clue nearby. However, I have no idea where to look. There's nothing on the map so I just moved on. Earlier, I got another msg that I've gathered enough clues and to look up Cultist quest. Again, I'm clueless; I don't see anything new.

However, I have no idea where to look. There's nothing on the map so I just moved on. Earlier, I got another msg that I've gathered enough clues and to look up Cultist quest. Again, I'm clueless; I don't see anything new. If you were in a market, the clue was probably for sale in a shop. When you’re prompted to view a new clue in the menu, it’s wanting you to open the individual cultist’s page and view the updated info. Sometimes you’re just a step closer to finding them, while other times the identity can be unveiled. I really enjoyed hunting these cultists. I devoted about two days, at one point, to thoroughly dismantling the cult. After I did that, the only ones left were persons whom we’d eventually meet via progress in the main quest. There were so many good quests and characters in this game. There are tons of amazing examples of craftsmanship, too! Reflections in this game are excellent. You can even see Adrestia reflected off the Aegean. Details are everywhere in such a huge world. I can’t wait to just wander and observe daily life without the impetus to chase the next part of the story. The AC teams never cease to impress with the amazing attention to fine detail in their worlds. Now that I’m finished, I can just wander and admire it all.
