I just realized... How does my eagle know all these people's names? You have no idea how useful that can be on a certain quest... I'll say no more.
Hehe, not really. As I said, you don't die from falling down. Neat game mechanic but also a plot thing connected to your Macguffin and lineage.
The Cult is everywhere!!! It's not a joke. I think you will enjoy how many side quests deal with that. You might even kill cultists before even realizing they are such. Many cultists just roam the world. It can be a random civilian, merchant, bandit, mercenary, general, leader... Good time to be paranoid

Yeah I thought I'd save him the grief and shame but it backfired on me to. No hetero love for Kass for me either. You finished? The whole game? No about 70% complete on the story but have done pretty much everything else, have just hit 135 hours. Trying hard to finish the main story but keep getting distracted by cultists, mercenaries and other missions.

Back to Kass, please and thank you I can imagine it must be completely non-sensical the whole future stuff. saandrig or Element Zero will probably give a better summation than me but in short in the other games the Templars and Assassins are fighting for either control of humanity The Templars, or the freedom of humanity The Assassins. The Templars run a huge company called Abstergo and invented the Animus which they use to go back to the past to live the memories of ancestors of Adam and Eve who were escaped slaves from an older civilisation The Isu or First Civ. In simple terms in the earlier games the modern protag was a guy called Desmond (an assassin) who went back in the Animus to find clues via his ancestors memories to find PoE - Pieces of Eden/Isu relics which are really powerful and can control people, restore health etc. and Leonidas spear is one such artefact. In Odyssey the modern day descendant is Layla. Abstergo is always trying to wipe the Assassins out and acquire the Pieces of Eden so they can control humanity, the Assassins are always trying to thwart them them. there must have been some sort of net on the underside of the cliff for both Kass and Alexios to survive. "Deimos" cultist description said the Cult raised him to be the psychopath he is today. No way a baby survived that fall without intervention. The Cult engineered the whole thing because they wanted the kid so they probably have people waiting below to catch him. Why would they be confident they would get him? Well, that's something I'll leave you to find out. Kass probably landed at a different spot and was KO or something so no one knew that she survived.

In Odyssey the modern day descendant is Layla. Abstergo is always trying to wipe the Assassins out and acquire the Pieces of Eden so they can control humanity, the Assassins are always trying to thwart them them. "Everything is Permitted, Nothing is True" There was only one artifact in AC1. The Apple and it wasn't in pieces. It controlled people's minds. The Isu made it to control the human slave race but the hybrids were born and then overthrew their 'gods'. The other Isu artifacts started appearing as the series went on; the devs started thinking up of other stuff than the apple. It's not always true the Assassins were trying to thwart the Templars from taking over the world. We're talking about centuries of struggle and sometimes, those goals get flipped over on both sides.

I go to Athens. Lovely city. Actually feel a bit leery of the height when I climb the giant statue, especially since it's a copper statue. I dive off it thinking how she really should just splat, and she does a full on dive like into water- and gracefully plops into some hay XD an Athenian General is nearby and wants me to assassinate some Spartan Commanders because Sparta is doing so well (mentally, I take partial credit) I decline. And for daring to ask, I decide to go to the nearest Athenian temple to ransack and murder some.of his own. I sneak into the bushes. I pull out my bow It comes out with flame arrows automatically I set the bush and myself on fire

So I follow the Snake Killers to "poor market". This part of the quest is just kinda bad.
I don't threaten them for the info, they immediately give it up when 30 second before they were all bristling for a fight. Then you give some sort of out of touch rallying speech about how they should stop murdering politicians and focus on a change they can achieve right there in their district.
Like? Staggering destitution solved in a pep talk. Excellent

This Stargate storyline is messing with my Xena feeling. This comment won the internet today and has restoked my interest for the game...though I suppose the entire Assassin's Creed Storyline might be a *little* on the Stargatey side...just with the animus and not with a stone ring with standing water.

But the bolded also reminded me of the bit from Star Trek Insurrection when Riker is trying to bluff out the Son'a. "Photon Torpedo? Isn't that the universal greeting when communications are down?" "I think its the universal greeting when you don't like somebody."

^ Ditto on that little piece of 'advice' at the end. It was out of place and left me scratching my head, wondering what the writer was thinking of.
Writer: So our hero goes to the slums, kills some poor folks to get information...
Producer: Hold on, hold on! Kills some poor people? Do you realize the shitstorm on social media that will bring? Quest in which you kill the lower classes to protect the life, power and wealth of the rich? Can't he just...dunno, rough them up a bit?
Writer: I guess we can remove the weapons for this encounter...
Designer: You kidding me? Half the player base are morons. They can't find their bottom with both hands and a map. If you remove their weapons they will fill the bug report section in seconds - "Oh, noes, my game is glitched, I lost my weapons, I don't know how to equip them back..."
Writer: But how would the hero get the information and diffuse the situation without violence? It won't make sense.
Producer: Well, we give the players choices. If they want their choice not to make sense, they should be free to do so.
Writer: Screw it, speech it is.

I mean, I guess it's in the Game Title, but I'm getting a bit tired of killing things. It all comes round to that action. There have been a few quests where they're like, "go get the thing, killing isn't necessary." But it really kinda is.
NPC: people took my stuff. Kass: so you want me to kill them? NPC: yes, they deserve death. Oh ya, I also want my stuff back.

^ Yep, death is the fastest way. KO is only when you want a challenge for yourself. I find it rather annoying I couldn't KO civilians in one shot, fisticuffs are required. They refused to go away when you shoot arrows at their feet. More so when some quests require you to steal a particular item and there're loads of civvies around. This where I wish for a Dishonored II item and ability; sleep darts and Domino. Put out four targets in one shot; zzZZzzz.

AC problem #1 when Your weapons are too low level to kill the baddies, so you maneuver them to a cliff, Sparta kick them off, they die from the fall damage--- and you can't find the body to Loot them after
