I like the diving. The boating is a bit worse than TW3. The horse is easier but I won't say it's better.

Some quick tips - fall damage will not kill you, no matter the height. After level 20 you won't even take fall damage. Jump away!

If you catch fire (happens more often than you think) hold the Dodge button to do a roll and extinguish it. Same method for when a kitty cat jumps on your back.

Killing (unless it's bandits) and stealing in front of witnesses builds up a bounty (even if you kill the witnesses right after). Bounties fade over time unless they are story related.

While riding the horse offroad - spam the gathering button to pick any resource node in range.

Check the message boards in towns often. Pick all non-timed quests from the message boards. You don't even need to read them since you will finish them anyway by playing the game naturally.

Don't try to do all timed (hourglass) quests. They refresh every time you finish them and are endless. You can ignore them and sometimes you can accidentally finish them anyway without accepting the quest at all.

Sell/dismantle any regular or blue gear. Purple gear is the best, but you still can sell/dismantle purple pieces you don't need.

Don't upgrade your gear until level 50 or 70 except maybe the weapons (gold ones are usually best) and only every 5+ levels. You will be getting more than enough new stuff to replace the old. Don't worry about looks since the transmog system allows you to change the look of any gear piece with any other piece you ever collected (even if you sold/dismantled it).
