I’m not sure entirely where this is coming from, but please don’t take everything in this as accurate until we announce something. (I don’t want anybody to be disappointed when inaccurate info gets changed, and I don’t know what we can say yet!)

(But that said, I REALLY appreciate that the idea of me writing something is cause for excitement. More when we can say stuff!)

@patrickweekes As everything you write anywhere is scrutinized and theorized on... if you write a note, something like "hey, out for a beer. left some eggs and sausage for you in the fridge." ... does that then become canon in DA?

“Patrick doesn’t drink, so beer may mean ‘bier’, a place where the dead are left for display. Eggs are Solas, and sausage is clearly male romance options, and being fridged means being killed for drama.

Patrick is saying ‘Not enough drama, killing Solas and other romances’!”

Hopefully that release date is inaccurate (it's too far away! ). Still...a new book, maybe!

In all seriousness, it could be the introduction (or sum total since we've had the game change since then) of that whole heist in Tevinter idea for DA4 we heard about in Schrier's article.

Will buy a week before the game is officially releasing. No more of my money will be given to be strung along with no confirmed pay off.

I wonder if it would be accurate to say that the quality of these short stories would be indicative of the storytelling prowess behind each of these writers. Assuming most, if not all, of the writers of this anthology are also working on the story for DA4, it could be a good benchmark for fans to determine whether the stories in the actual game will be engaging.

I understand. Adapting a narrative to an environment that requires player freedom and volition is something that a lot of writers find to be complicated to navigate.

It says you're the editor, not the writer, which isn't unusual for an anthology. But my guess is someone else is the actual editor. Possibly someone with the same last name as you. What a coincidence! 😉

Did nobody had that idea back in the day when DA2 was released? Now I'm trying to imagine street brawls Tevinter-style, which probably means a few Fenris-style 'enchanted' warriors and probably an awful lot of blood magic, if we stick to clichés.
