I don't know which one makes better sense with physics. It's not just about them being big, it's wing span and how dense they are. I actually think the wings on both versions should be much bigger. I think it's safe to say there's no physics involved in dragon/griffon flight...

Wow. I wish we could be more sure about just how canon/game-accurate these illustrations are gonna be. Cus that griffon is WAY bigger than I thought. Also: Revas! Who needs a mount for every companion, when you can have one mount who can ferry everyone! Ooooh, arguments who sits where would be marvelous! "I want to sit on front this time!" "Its rocking way too much on the back for my liking." "Ugh, why do I need to be sandwich stuffing again?" *looks at griffon* "...You know what, just carry me in your claws. Maybe less comfortable, but far more peaceful than up there with those idiots."

September Updateby Author -Casey HudsonPosted on - September 5, 2019 blog.bioware.com/2019/09/05/september-update/Humans! It’s been a super busy summer at the studio, but I wanted to get a note out to share some of the things we’ve been up to. AnthemOver the last few weeks we’ve been ramping up our Cataclysm events in Anthem – a season-long event with new arenas, enemies, challenges, and rewards. We have a big team working on Anthem in both Austin and Edmonton, and while it’s been great to see the community response to Cataclysm, I know there’s a lot more work to do to bring out the full potential of the game. We have plans for those more fundamental improvements, but they’ll take time. While the team works towards the longer-term vision of the game, they will also continue to deliver updates to features and content. I believe in Anthem and would love to see its world grow, evolve, and thrive for years to come. Thanks for your patience and support as we do the work of constantly improving and expanding the experience. static.cdn.ea.com/blog.bioware.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Anthem_1920x1080-1024x576.jpgCataclysm, happening now in Anthem. Star WarsTM: The Old RepublicTMI was in our Austin studio recently, where I was able to check out the update our SWTOR team is working on. Star WarsTM: The Old RepublicTMOnslaught is coming this fall, and delivers an adventure spanning several new areas including two new planets, a return to Corellia, plus a new and updated itemization system. I love seeing the team’s enthusiasm and passion for SWTOR, where nearly 8 years after the initial launch, they are demonstrating their long-term commitment to the game with an ambitious update. static.cdn.ea.com/blog.bioware.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/SWTOR_1920x1080-1-1024x576.jpgCorellia – Return to this classic Old Republic planet for the Onslaught finale Other Stuff Going OnWe have several other big projects in the works. I wish I could tell you more about them, but they’re mostly super-secret right now. I can say however that one of our projects has a large and growing team in Edmonton working through pre-production, and based on the progress I’m seeing, I can confirm that indeed the Dread Wolf rises. static.cdn.ea.com/blog.bioware.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/CaseyBlog_2019-09-04_1920x1080-13-1024x576.jpgWhat are they planning? Moving to New DigsOne of the things I’m most excited about is that after almost 15 years in our previous Edmonton location we have moved to a brand-new state-of-the-art facility in the thriving ICE District downtown. We’ve been very fortunate to have EA’s support in building out three large floors of amazing new office space, custom-designed from the ground up for the future of game development. This represents a tremendous investment in the future of our studio, and I can’t wait to see what we create here. static.cdn.ea.com/blog.bioware.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/CaseyBlog_2019-09-04_1920x1080-7-1024x576.jpgstatic.cdn.ea.com/blog.bioware.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/CaseyBlog_2019-09-04_1920x1080-8-1024x576.jpgstatic.cdn.ea.com/blog.bioware.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/CaseyBlog_2019-09-04_1920x1080-12-1024x576.jpgJoin Us! With these big projects ahead of us, we’re going to need some help, so we’re looking for amazing people to join our teams in both Edmonton and Austin. Have a look at our jobs page and see if there’s something there for you! Ultimately what makes me happiest is working with talented teams on games I know players will love, and having the time and resources to make them amazing. When I look at all of the things going on around BioWare I’m more excited about our future than ever. Thanks for checking out the update and thank you for your continued support! Casey

Heh heh heh... not very subtle, Mr. Hudson It's basically a roundabout rebuke to 'Bioware is dead/dying; EA is about to close them'. I'm not an owner of a giant corporation or know exactly how they work, but it would be kinda illogical for them to make 'tremendous investments in the future of the studio' if Bioware was at risk of being shut.

I’m really happy that Casey made the point of asserting that EA is still heavily invested in BioWare. Shoot, I didn’t know EA built the space themselves for BioWare. Can some YouTuber please make a positive video about that? Pls? No? Okay.
And wow, I thought DA4 was at least in the production phase. At least they’re not rushing it. I’m happy they’re taking their time and I hope everyone is healthy.

I'm going to cross fingers for 2021.
I won't expect 2020. Especially if they consider it important to be in GOTY roundups in a year without Cyberpunk as opposed to one with it.
(Yes, I know assuming such a thing may be very, very presumptuous of studio priorities; but if they've indeed rebooted development, I can hope that they take more than less time to polish a product.)
I can hope 2020 can be a redemptive year for Anthem though, and at least a lot of DA4 introductory info/marketing, and at most a teaser for anything ME.

Nearly a decade since the last DA game is ridiculous. Especially with how they ended said last DA game. It’s not like they planned the original project to be cut and to start all over. They can’t rush development just becaus the last game was far away. Also, if it means the game will be released on next gen only and that they don’t have to compromise with older platforms (although it wouldn’t be as bad as with DAI) the better for me, and expecially the devs having less workload on that department.

Meh good things come to those who wait.
Honestly though that is one of the things that is frustrating about following game development that they don't use terms the same way as other industries. I still find it difficult to believe we won't see it in 2021.... remember they've already been working on it since 2017...but even if it is 2023 then meh.

It's definitely a bummer that they are still in pre-production. But alas, we can't change anything. But thinks may not mean that game is at least 3 years away- i asked askgamedev on tumblr about preproduction after TGA and here is his answer: Q:What stage in-game production is animation, level design, gameplay design, multiplayer? If the studio has begun to work on those things can we safely say that pre-production if done, core story is written and the game is roughly 1,5-2 years away? A: That’s not quite right. Preproduction usually ends when we have a [vertical slice] of the game. While we’re in preproduction before that, we’re still creating animations, level designs, gameplay designs, multiplayer, etc. - we’re just exploring what those concepts actually mean within the context of our game. Before we reach production, we work on building one level, with the bare minimum of content for each system to make sure it works. What that might mean is two different characters (each with their respective special mechanic + look + animations), one map with objectives, one character class with level-up structure, enough UI to select the characters + one game mode + show teams, and so on and so forth. This is often called First Playable because the core game experience is fully playable at this point. We’ve reached the point where we have a (mostly) fully functional taste of the game experience with all of its major systems represented. Once we finish the First Playable, we demonstrate it to the publishers and hope they give us the green light to move into production. Once we’re approved, we build the breadth of the game’s content/systems/characters/assets/etc. out. The production phase isn’t as much about new concepts anymore, it’s about fleshing out these ideas. When we reach our first playable milestone, maybe we only had Tracer and Farrah selectable and the only map players could choose is Route 66. When we start production, we add more characters, more maps, more character abilities, more of everything. Once we’re approved for production, we also (usually) announce the product to the public. This is because we actually have something to show by this point (the first playable in action). It’s a pretty big step for any project to reach production. There’s no hard and fast rule as to how much time it takes to do each step. Some studios are able to crunch through both phases in a year (e.g. any annualized sports title). Some studios can’t seem to ship a product without 4+ years of development time. Most teams typically have a production schedule that say “this is how long you have for preproduction and this is how long you have for production”. Many projects are killed before they ever leave preproduction. Remember, preproduction is about exploring the depth of the game. Production is about finding the breadth of the game. askagamedev.tumblr.com/post/182375380426/what-stage-in-game-production-is-animation-level
