Solas: I suspect you have questions. Inquisitor/Rook/Harding/Varric: Yes, what was the plan? cute. But he's not a Bond villain. Telling us what he planned to do would've been a monumentally stupid thing to do... But we did see what the plans would entail and the stakes.

You still didn't address the possibility that the knowledge he withholds isn't so easily shared for reasons that are potentially esoteric in nature (curse, compulsion, corruption). In this regard no amount of years is relevant, because the thing can't really be "put into words", regardless how trustworthy (and sharp) your friends are (which may as well be reasons for Solas to want to protect them from "fate he wouldn't wish on an enemy", as he told Cole). I don't really know it is the case - but it appears that the knowledge Solas (and Mythal) posses is literally so dangerous that they intend to take it to their graves with them. Can it be explained through *any* means, maybe available in DAVe? Perhaps. But that doesn't mean that such option was present before. Doubt on the esoteric nature of whatever threat he thinks he's sparing the world from can't be explained in words. Let's remember we're not talking about a game that has unknowable Eldritch abominations that cause madness if someone even thinks about them. It is literally a world where there's a force (Fade) that exposes people's thoughts and emotions to otherworldly beings (spirits and demons) who can then corrupt a person specifically because mortals think, imagine and desire things and feel emotions Not to mention all the sinister implications around the nature of Blight itself - it's not like a mere thought about Blight can corrupt a person (yet?)... but standing near Red Lyrium totally can. And there are myths like that about Andruil - a god-like being - venturing to places that drove her mad (and "howling things that should be forgotten"), and only Mythal stealing her knowledge of venturing into the Void (a thing related to Blight) is what cured her. But in Descent Inquisitor literally says that they're leaving with more questions than answers Because whatever was shared with Valta, she didn't really share it with us. The Titan communed with her, because it recognized her - specifically - as its 'child', and that's' what calmed it. Yet those powerful mages possess powers beyond comprehension of any modern mage, and most ancient elven mages even, considering that it allowed them to achieve god-like status, and let Solas *change the world in ways that are god-like in scope* That is entirely untrue - if anything, the Blight appears to be some sort of ancient sinister power the mysteries of which we only begin to uncover; and one that is probably at the heart of the crisis caused by Evanuris (before and now) and perhaps related in some way to subjugation of Titans. I've given compulsion as an example. It may as well be knowledge that is corrupting to anyone who doesn't have faculties to comprehend it - a scenario that is at the very least possible, given what I've mentioned earlier.

Probably a trivial issue for some, but did anyone else wish that DAI autosaved BEFORE a conversation instead of after? I can't count the number of times I had to redo a conversation because I said the wrong thing (almost like RL!). I wonder what autosaving is like in DAV. I always manually save before conversations in case i have to reload because the paraphrase didn't result in the dialogue i expected.

Ok clarification: Can we pre submit the questions for the Discord q&a or does it have to be duringthe event? Thought I saw something on FB but now can't find it. THey keep retweeting the same thing on Twitter, but when I go to the Discord, there's no apparent place to ask the questions for Q&A. I'm guessing you just have to show up and ask them at the appointed time. questions are presubmitted to the askbioware channel on the discord. But you might need to turn on that channel.

Added the following questions from here to the askbioware channel:
- Will our Rooks have a set last name, like before? - Will there be romanceable characters outside of the Team? - How the dialogue with NPCs during exploration will be presented? The camera in the shoulder like DAI or the cutscenes like DA:O and DA2? - please ask about the mage Specializations and whether the Inquisitor's love interest will be making an appearance?

You know if Solas just told Varric his plan, perhaps things would've been a lot different. But instead, he sounded callous treating mass death as trivial which makes me believe that Solas is no better than the Elven Gods he rebelled against. The Inquisitor had many opportunites to change his perspective but he still trudged through with his plan that would kill millions. Yeah. This is why I'm ultimately on the 'stop Solas' side of this even though I think he's got genuinely good intentions. Yes, it seems like he knows something we don't and that means Thedas as we know it will be destroyed even if he doesn't bring down the Veil. This might be the best option there is! But we don't know that, because he refuses to explain the situation to anyone. By the time Trespasser rolls around, the Inquisitor is at minimum someone he's worked with who knows he's a powerful and knowledgeable mage even if they dislike him personally. They might be his close friend or lover. If there's a situation that needs dealing with he should have at least attempted to convince them of his position instead of taking their arm, telling them he's going to burn the world with them standing on it and swanning off. I am not prepared to just trust that he knows what he's doing when we've got compelling evidence that he's never known what he's doing before. Both putting up the Veil in the first place and giving Corypheus the orb turned out to be fuck-ups of truly epic proportions, I have absolutely no faith that this wouldn't have been a third one even if he'd pulled it off. Since Solas never tells anyone anything Varric and Harding (and the Inquisitor by extension) really don't have any reasonable choice but to stop him. I can't blame them for knocking his scaffolding down when Solas's argument for why any of this is necessary is 'trust me bro.' That said, the irony that everyone involved is doing what they think they have to do and it's resulted in demons everywhere (again!) and two angry and possibly blighted Evanuris being released is delicious.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but...
Over on Discord, I noticed they confirmed there will be Faction-based gear in the game, if you're looking to dress the part.

I look forward to keeping my Grey Wardens in uniform. I also want one of those cute Crow hoods that Zevrn is wearing in World of Thedas, now that we can have cloaks and hoods.

I'd personally love to know if our base will be bustling with (hopefully important and fleshed out) people other than just our companions. If it's just the eight of us all the time, I think I might lose it. It'll be such a downgrade from the hustle and bustle of Skyhold.
Honestly, the advisors ended up having a much more important role in DA:I than expected for me, even if we couldn't take them out to play and kill demons, so it'll be rough seeing those NPC spots removed.

I definitely disagree with one thing here - I don't think lifting the Veil was a fuck-up per se. Because it's not like the moment Fen'Harel realized that Evanuris are arseholes, he's decided for everyone that he's lifting the Veil - no, his first plan to take them down was instigating a widespread rebellion. He told people what his issue with Evanuris is ("these guys aren't gods, they're just posers!"), and it is implied he's worked with Mythal in secret to take down the rest. So it's not like he's egotistically decided that he alone can do something. Up to a certain point he appears to be your regular upstanding DA hero. But then Evanuris murdered Mythal. And would have done something that imperiled the entire world, if Solas didn't act in haste in order to save what he can. In other words - things got sideways, and he didn't get an easy way out. The Veil therefore wasn't some sort of perfect plan of his that backfired on him - it was a last-ditch effort to save what he can from impending apocalypse, while knowing pretty well what it'd cost him and the world that existed at a time. Kinda like Rook dropping a statue on him, when they thought the world is coming to an end, and they had to act quick, or else... The parallels to actions of Rook are therefore not to laugh that Rook is the same sort of fuck-up as Solas - it's more of: hey, if you think Rook was justified in their actions and that the responsibility doesn't lie entirely on their shoulders... why can't you extend this to Solas, given that what we already know about his story indicates that he's found himself between a rock and a hard place, and his major fault there was that - just like Rook, Inquisitor, Hawke or Warden - he's decided to act? Like... should this "fuck-up of truly epic proportions" lie squarely on his shoulders, if it ultimately saved enough of the world for it to be rebuilt, as opposed to a much darker alternative?

Dorian likely has his own place - though it may be connected to Lighthouse with an eluvian...

Well... obviously we don't know if Varric survives long enough to be in the base But I have to wonder if Charter's going to show up - she was kinda implied to be a character with an important role, similar to that of Leliana in Inquisition, but it's hard to say if they changed plans regarding her or not. Dorian likely has his own place - though it may be connected to Lighthouse with an eluvian... They are really making this the least possible interesting Dragon Age for me All the things I loved about Inquisition are being taken away!

I just hope I can get something without a cape attached to it. Have we seen Rook without one? I presonall ylike the idea of having a cape on m ycharacter so I don't mind given I don't thin kwe've had one before and I liked ho wJaal's cape looked in Andromeda. So getting to wea rsomethin glik ethat I lik ethe sound o fit.
