Also, I do actually believe that the first halla were elves forcibly transmuted by mad scientist Ghilly, so that nug thing is silly, but I bet also a cheeky nod.
The horn thing just sounds like stargate, but horns instead of worms. lol

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but...Over on Discord, I noticed they confirmed there will be Faction-based gear in the game if you're looking to dress the part. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of blinged-out gear we can get as a Lord of Fortune. I love this specific aspect because it will give life and personality to Rook but grounded in the universe aesthetics cohesively. Regarding the Lords of Fortune, I have a theory we'll have pirate outfits based on what we have seen in the concept arts. But I hope we'll be able to change the colors of the outfits, though.

Yeah, SO many things about Dragon Age lore make more sense after The Horrors of Hormak. I used to find both ghasts and giants totally baffling (bipeds that aren't sapient but - in the case of ghasts at least - can use magic???) but now that we know A Wizard Did It it all makes a lot more sense. I wonder just how much of the wildlife of Thedas is the result of the elves messing around. Like, they made the halla and presumably the Varterral. Did they make the first griffons? Dragons?

Not a fan of what we've seen so far for the specializations. It all feels very uninspired and old.
Warriors (not far from what we have seen so far since Origins)
Buffy Slayer (Huge swords) Champion (tank) Reaver (life steal)
Rogue
Duelist (melee parry/dodge) Saboteur (trap) Veil Ranger (ranged-focus)
So far, the only new spec is Veil Ranger. But I don't particularly feel inclined to play as one. Let's wait for the mages, even though I already can guess something very similar to the inquisition specs.

Yeah, I'd say that sounds reasonable. Didn't they retcon that Isabella is a LoF? Lacklon in Absolution was a member as well and he was fairly pirate-coded.

So. I'm sort of expecting a more Tevinter-themed melee mage spec and an Arlathan themed spec similar to Rift Mage, maybe Veil Mage.

Emmrich may also have skills and magic unique to him. I have to wonder how his skeleton companion will factor into both his story and combat.

I remember them talking about the regions being connected to our hub via Eluvians from the leak way back when. Can't wait to see the Crossroads if the environment screenshots we've already seen are any indication.

By the way, here's an interesting excerpt I've noticed when I watched this short interview with John Epler (sorry if I didn't notice that it was something brought up here already): "[...] We did start a first version of Dragon Age 4 after Trespasser. Anthem came out, we needed to shift development for that; and so when we came back we really rebooted development, started fresh, but the story's remained the same throughout - the goals of that story have remained the same. We've always wanted to take Solas' story and put a final conclusion on that"
