So is there an achievement if we solve an Astrarium in our Skill Tree...? It sure looks like an astrarium I'll give it that

Holy shit. The skill tree is a marvel to look at.
A real marvel is the passive skill tree from a free game called Path of Exile. Makes the Veilguard tree look like a baby.

Re the combat it really to me sounds a lot like the changes from HZD to HZD FW meaning there will be a group of people that really love the new layers of complexity re pausing and multiple combo's etc. and will knock over Insanity without an issue. Then there will be me that will just want to shoot arrows at enemies or stab them and who goes OH wait I could have used that ability thingy. I am getting old and I think a lot of this stuff is just getting beyond me and my care factor is getting less in terms of the combat stuff. That said I am very much looking forward to the game. Ye pI think tha tsum sup us perfectly. Though to be fair I try t oexploit aan enemies weaknesses a bit. Fo rexampl euse Ice spells on Rage demons fie ron despair tha tkind of thing. But yea hthere aer times in Andromeda where I just spam my powers and hope.

Read that at first as sub-specializations or playing styles for Necromancer (which would be cool, but whatever). Now I realize it's likely Evoker= Elementalist, Death Caller = Necromancer, Spellblade = "Combat", the 3 mage specs. Isn't a Evoker an Summoner and not an elementalist? Evoker in D&D is the name given to a specialist of the Evocation school of magic which focus on energy types spells like fireball, lightning, etc.

I just went to Steam looking for something and ended up reading a lot of "anti-woke" rubbish. Now I'm once again sad, mad and frustrated that people are like this. Some people apparently won't buy the game because one of the directors is a transwoman. Steam is a cesspool. The most toxic gamers congregate there, which of course turns into a vicious cycle of turning away anyone who doesn't wanna put up with their crap. Though in fairness, I've already seen at least one person in this forum complaining that all the female companions are ugly and Bioware hates straight men. It's giving me flashbacks to Inquisition's pre-release.
That's why I like mods.... there's a face/bod for every taste.

Spikiness might correspond to abilities that have tiers to them. Four diamonds = four levels of ability. Good point! And this is why i feel that Bioware should just release mid game gameplay video and explain everything. We should be theorizing about story, companions and lore and not about combat.
The anti-spoiler crows would go bananas. LOL

Anyway, complaining that Dragon Age has 'gone woke' is especially funny. I swear that some people saw that Morrigan wasn't wearing a shirt back in DAO and didn't pay attention to a single other thing about the game or who made it. You'd think that people who want to boycott a game because a transwoman worked on it would also have some kind of objection to a gay man being the first lead writer and a pan enby person being the current one.

ah yes, the skill tree. Was there a talent called hopping? I saw everyone hopping around in the gameplay video like grasshoppers Will the upgrade feature how far/high the mage, warrior, rogue hop's/jumps? Hopefully when playing as a mage there's a boss battle like the one in DA2. Remember this awesome fight?

The skill trees look impressive and large, but apparently when you cut down to it - it's a few activation skills only and the rest are passives and upgrades. Bit like Valhalla, but more focused on actually feeling the combat impact when you invest points into different paths. I mean, did you feel anything in Valhalla when you increased Ranged damage a dozen times by 2 points each? Personally I am most likely beating the game by shooting arrows and occasionally throwing a Smoke Bomb (or an equivalent).
From resetera: All three are comprised of 168 total nodes
28 Diamond shaped nodes are for Active Abilities 39 Large Circles are for Major Passives and Ability Upgrades 57 Small Circles are for Minor Passive and Stat Boosts 36 Spiked Circles are for Traits 3 Hexagons are for unlocking a Specialization(four when counting the one at the center you get as your default base class) 4 Spiked Diamonds are for Unique Class/Specialization Ultimate Abilities
50+ acquired elsewhere points (the tree showed have 39-43 points spent in it) should allow for unlocking about half of it. I suspect we can only buy one specialization entry node, so it's more 138 than 168 we have to think about.
It's DAI trees x2.

Nice summation. So 28 active abilities per Rook class and being able to choose from three of them. Interesting. We will see how this all works out. I mean it would be really hard to make like 8 profiles so yeah we'll see. I do wonder what 'traits' will end up being.

Well, I hope I am still playing at 70, I am nearing 60 and it's not that I cannot do it, I just really want to take the easy road and not over complicate things in all of my life but especially in gaming which is one of my true pleasures in life. Don't worry It will just take you longer to finish the game, he he everyone no doubt will be on their second or third play through by time I finish my first. Likewise I see a lo to fpeople finishing befoer I do too dazk did finish hi splaythrougho fForbidden West befoer I finished mine bu t it's not a race t ose ewh ofinishes first it's do yo u enjoy playing it. The only time yo uhav et othink quick really is if it's a timed mission lik eWicked Eyes Wicked Hearts in DAI or escaping those Remnant vaults in Andromeda. I know I'm a slo wplayer but I lik et oimmerse myself in th eworl dI'm inhabiting wit hthese types of games. I know with the fac tit's Dragon Age and the fact I love this series i sone of the main reasons why I'll likel yb edoing multipl eruns anyway. Especiall ya sit's likely I'll b ediong al l4 games bac kt obac k multiple times an dprobabl ymixing in a fwe ME runs as well like when Inquisition cam eout. I’m liking what I’m seeing, but I wish they’d rethink the 3-ability thing (at least for Rook). It’s the only thing I’m still trying to like, digest. If we could cycle between even just two wheels/sets (like in Inquisition, for a total of 6), that’d be fantastic! However: they seem pretty confident with the system they’ve got going on, so I’m open to it, obviously as we learn more… Might be a little too late for such a change, though. If its as bad as it sounds I am hoping there is a patch but ultimatley it could still work out. As others have pointed out seems like a lot of abilities have moved to button prompts so either way I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and see it in action before I try to come down on it too hard. Yea hw ehave t ojudge the gam efasirly and get ou rhansd on i tfirst befoe rwe can properl yjudge it because for m ethat's wha cos tAndromeda in theend. Because fo rm eyes they made changes to the gamepla ybut i twasn't until I wa s actually playing that I could see why they made thos echanges.

Thank you. That helps. I am not knowledgeable in the D&D system. I have only translated the name in my language and Summoner is what i get, when i translate it back.

Combat sounds pretty promising. I agree with Darrah that earlier games peaked at, "The combat is tolerable." I'm not going to set myself up for disappointment by assuming anything, but it does sound much, much better.
I enjoy games that reward player skill. BioWare games are never going to be fully focused on that, but they can do an admirable job of it. My experience always improves in my second playthrough of games, when I've begun to achieve gameplay system mastery. (Ideally, it takes even longer to master everything, but usually not.) My hope for DA:V is that it can offer gameplay anywhere near the quality of ME3 and MEA. Those games are a still a lot of fun, while remaining easy enough that anyone who wishes can keep the difficulty modest and just shoot their way through.
The rest of that article series was waaaay too full of spoilers. I stopped after the first major spoiler that I kind of wish I hadn't seen.

It's possible to show mid game gameplay without spoilering much. I believe they did it with DAI. Are you thinking of this? Yeah, something like this. Surely, Dave will have non spoiler heavy side quests that are not tied to main story, they can show those.
