Kind of a nitpick but I don't really like the outfits for the companions except maybe Lucanis. Most of them are super busy with too many little things going on like they were dressed by an overzealous fashion designer. And I think it stands out in particular because the outfits have more details than their faces due to the smoothing effect they are using (the outfits do not appear smoothed but faces are). Most of them are okay for me, but I do find Neve a little over designed. Which is especially weird because a. she looks nice in her casual outfit and b. she's supposed to be a lower class character, but wears a fancy outfit. Not sure if intentional. Or maybe telling? I mean, aside from Neve probably just liking fancy stuff, it probably tells us something about the society of Minrathous, where not only the highest class has access to all the fancy things.

Anyway, what surprises me in this discussion is that most DA gear and clothing, since DAO, has been rather intricate/overely-aborate in many, maaaany cases.
Like, it's sort of the staple of the series that is otherwise known for how many things it changes every chapter, design-wise.

Saying that, Neve's description mention she was born and raised in a working-class neighborhood, not that she born and raised in a working-class family. I find it an interesting distinction...

Ah, copy that. So you meant the following? Only about 100 years ago did people Chinese, Korean, and Japanese start wearing as few layers as we do now. The detail and layers make sense to me even from a historical standpoint.Dude detailed fashion and craftsmanship spans the world's hustory. You tried to accuse me of only speaking to European history (and implying racism), and then when I gave examples of some Asian countries and native American you took it to mean I was only speaking of Asia the whole time? I'm not sure where you're getting this from. I asked a question to understand where you were coming from as "people" is far too general. I have no clue how we got to accusations and especially racism. I'll just leave you be and ignore your posts from now on.

Most of them are okay for me, but I do find Neve a little over designed. Saying that, Neve's description mention she was born and raised in a working-class neighborhood, not that she born and raised in a working-class family. I find it an interesting distinction... Well, the implication in her story is that there were a lot of Templars, which is why she has a complicated relationship with them. So, she basically comes from a cop family? Because that's basically what Templars seem to be in Minrathous. Also - the way Neve dresses herself may also be a cultural thing. It simply may be that the Tevenes (at least those from Minrathous) believe in expressing themselves through clothing. We saw that with Dorian too - he didn't just wear some casual Tevene stuff, but things unique to him.

Also, why does she sleep in the smithy...on a blanket...on the floor.

Whilst she still identifies with her roots and doesn't think mages are superior, it likely helps to dress appropriate to her rank as a Laetans, both to get employment from snobby clients and access to places during her investigations. Plus, may be she likes to dress well now she can afford it. Historically lower classes don't dress down because they want to but because they can't afford not to.

Yeah, that's why I qualified it with 'not sure if intentional.' One reason I'm fine with Taash's outfit is that it (seemingly) plays into her character. She's a treasure hunter and likes showing off stuff she's found, even if it comes off garish. If part of Neve's story is about coming into money and stability, and using that to splurge on a nice outfit, then it works a lot better for me.

She has less permutations than other companions and she was with Inquisitor in Trespasser, plotting how to stop Solas. ...In fact I do wonder whether we're going to see characters we saw in post-epilogue scene in Trespasser (except for LI)? Lace was present there and they've made her a companion.

Screenshots are out. x.com/dragonage/status/1828476547877216519It's honestly hilarious how they're always giving Taash the least amount of screenshots, and always on weird angles. They used the same one for all the screenshots shown since yesterday.
The two elves definitely look cartoonish. Lucanis and Lace human. Oddly enough, elves in the previous three games never evoked a cartoonish feel. I guess Mike is right. You have to play each DA as a Stand Alone game.
As to Taash, Bio may surprise us in one the the next high-level demos.

Nah, you're just taking the piss now, haha. How are Bellara and Davrin more cartoonish than DA2 elves? (Said with love toward DA2, btw.)

It would take something very sturdy to hold her back in her own corner of the map to stop Cassandra from showing up when ancient gods are destroying Thedas. And she has an agent in Nevarra (Sidony) and her uncle is probably still the prelate of the Grand Necropolis...and bugging her to visit in every letters...after 30+ years of her not doing so. I also think she ran away from the Sunburst throne if Divine, that was my impression of where things were going in Trespasser anyway.

I understand transmog feature may help with that. I know that in WOW you can come up with some awesome effects. Hoping that I can tone down the outfits to some simpler look that fits my idea of what each class should wear. First thing I'd do is getting rid of the cape.

Personally, I don't see how Bellara and Davrin look more cartoonish then Fenris, Merrill, or other DA2 elves. Solas also don't look cartoonish in Veilguard. I think it should be a likely outcome, given that she's by far the companion with less screen time in the trailers and screenshots overall, but at this point I wouldn't bet on it.

Lace took a beating in this pic. Must have been one hell of a fight... and that's what happens if you melee rather than use the bow at a distance.

Most is in the eye of the beholder. Sara and Merril are OK with me... except for Merril's tattoos, which I personally don't like. Hm... wonder if it's the ears that bother me in DA4.

Varric "When the first episode airs, you’ll meet Nadia, a retired thief unknowingly working for the Dread Wolf. Nadia and her lover, Elio, find themselves in the midst of something much greater than them - a threat to the entire world - until Elio is seemingly banished to the Fade. Enter: Drayden, a writer with an interesting connection to the Fade. Drayden and Nadia team up on an arduous adventure to rescue Elio from the Fade with a little help from some familiar friendly faces." It would have to be someone we know though right? I never heard of him* . I never read the books and stuff so I don't know. I googled, but nothing came up.
