It's the song Inon Zur sang in Origins in "elven". It was written by Inon Zur, not the BioWare writers, so it's... not like any elven we've seen since.

Ahh... I didn't know it was from Origins. Wow, it's been a while, I guess...
I mean, the fact that I Am the One was originally in elven, from an in-universe perspective, just kinda confirms for me even more that its about Solas. And/or Mythal, but they put it on the Solas romance tile here, so... Or maybe its just about an elven survivor of the collapse of society. It's lyrics definitely sound like his pov, though. I also think "Once We Were" is elves reminiscing about their lives pre-veil, though no one would know that now since everyone generally thinks the veil was always there. But if there is an imaginary origin of these songs, I think they're very old, and the first version of I Am the One we could hear being in elven just supports that for me.

I'm still holding out hope for a lil something something at The Game Awards in December. Since DA4 is still apparently in pre-production I'm kinda doubtful an official announcement will be made (?), but even a small teaser similar to the one we got last year would be great.
I'm honestly starving for a crumb of DA4 at this point.
