Working for Bioware must really suck if people feel like this on a Monday. Surely if you are working in a creative industry on an iconic game in a genre you love, then you'd be looking forward to going into work?
Trying to put a positive spin on it, may be they are past the exciting creative bit and are now onto the boring editing and implementation bit. (Also depressing when something you have poured your heart and soul into is ditched). So nearer the end of the process than the beginning.

It brings them access to all the Steam users while it allows folks to enjoy games from within one platform. Plus, according to the announcement itself this is the 4th platform featuring EA Access subscription and it'll likely not be the last.

There's no way that, after BioWare announced it was still in pre-production, they would be able to meet a Fall 2021 release date. EDIT: It looks like the next Battlefield game also won't be coming out till 2022. Seems like EA wants to give their devs more time to work on their games, while live service serves as a revenue tail in between.
