I guess we won’t be getting any actual info about it until at least 2021 then. It’s ridiculous how long this has taken. Yup.
If they're gonna go the "Cyberpunk 2077 route" with a teaser several years before anything else, I hope the finished product ends up comparable. Would be nice if they'd actually say "It'll be ready when its ready" or some such to tell us it's years off still, though.
EDIT: Just saw Hrungr's post. Mods please move.

probably a personal taste thing but I think DA4 will be far superior to Cyberpunk.

I don't know about the overall quality of the game (and I'd say combat doesn't look particulary good right now), because on that I trust CDPR more then Bioware given the current track record, but I'd certainly say DA4, unless it'll be a total mess, will be more enjoyable to play to me because of the third person. I generally prefer the latter, but first person is even worsein RPGs where I can fully customize my character, and their response of seeing your character in mirrors and the menu is...laughable, to put it mildly. It's their decision, but it seems to me that they want to attract the fans of first person shooters, and I could understand the reasoning, if they'd present a great combat system, which doesn't seem the case so far.

Well, EA's Q2 announcement mentioned doubling down on Live_Service games.
From Blake Jorgensen: "... Looking ahead, we are doubling down on live services combined with our core franchises. We’re investing in games that people play for longer and engage with much more deeply. This focus will continue to drive growth and profitability for the company through the remainder of this year and beyond."
So, imo, DA4 strictly being an aRPG is not in the cards. Rather, the MP portion is where the "people play longer...". If true, say goodbye to the CC and other fantasies.Welcome to DA4, a 'Live-Service' game if I read between the lines. And, how to you keep people playing longer? ... hm... I say don't use Anthem as a live-service model for inspiration and content.
Plus, for 2020, the game announcement failed to mention DA, neither for 2021.... though he did say some other games may be announced 'closer' to launch.

On what basis? You have literally nothing pointing to DA4 being a multiplayer focused game and even if it was many multiplayer games still have character creators. I know negativity is on brand for you, but you can at least try to justify it.

Didn’t Destiny/2 have a CC? I don’t think that feature in particular is necessarily scrapped. I do fear for what they’ll do with live service and similar. We’ll see how it goes.

City of Heroes/Villains had an Amazing CC, at least in terms of costume customization. Was my first MMO, so have to say that I was a bit disappointed with most MMO cc's after that.

If anything, CC would be only part that would benefit from GAS: character creator is usually much better in MMO and similar games than in single player (with a few exeptions) and that's because customization stuff would be the most easy to do but remunerative stuff to sell as DLC.

Daniel Ahmad @zhugeexEA says that new Dragon Age from Bioware is in development but likely won't be until after FY22. So after April 2022.New Star Wars title in development that should drop prior to end of FY22. - So likely Fall 2022. No, Fiscal Year 2022 ENDS in April 2022.

It'll be the setting and continuation of a story I've already got an attachment to, so it'll take a lot for me to dislike DA4. Which one will be "superior", on the other hand, isn't really what I was driving at. I was more saying DA4 should have the same attention to detail, love, and maybe even ambition that Cyberpunk seems like it does. At the very least, if there's going to be an 8 year gap btwn entries, I'd like DA4 to ship with a walk toggle keybind on PC instead of needing a patch. And be 95% bug free.
I mean, Origins had 5 years of dev time, and that included creating a new setting from scratch and (partial?) development as an indie company. 8 years' time for a triple A developer should mean a bump in quality and/or scope. (And by "scope", I don't necessarily mean "true open world" or something. It can be corridors for all I care, as long as they are awesome corridors chock-full of good content.)
EDIT: Also! Cinematic camera in NPC conversations. Please. They'll have both the time and the technical knowledge for that this time so there'll be no need to drop it and claim during marketing that its for player choice purposes to allow us to leave conversations whenever we want by walking away.

I wonder if they get any non-DM respondents lol. I only started hearing about this survey after I started DMing. I have attempted to DM Pathfinder and Dragon Age Tabletop and failed pretty badly at it so both instances were very brief. Now I DM Gloomhaven, but it's pretty much a self DM'ing board game. So really all I'm doing is adjusting encounters to the level of difficulty I feel my group feels like playing at. So I said I had DM'd and then it was like, OH which version of D&D did you DM?

D&D 5e is (thankfully) a MUCH easier DMing experience than Pathfinder. I prefer the worldbuilding in Pathfinder and Starfinder, but mechanically 5e is as smooth as butter. Because of the bounded accuracy (bonuses grow slowly, and are generally capped even w/ magic items), it’s dead easy to improvise encounters and checks. No tables or charts to consult; regardless of party level, a 10, 15, or 20 DC is probably suitable. That single feature is a huge weight off my shoulders... no pressure to keep players in the prepped stuff, because I can fill in new content without too much effort.

Exactly, I hope the devs go into DA4 with the same mindset they had when making Origins, aiming to impress audiences with the world, characters and story as if we were seeing it for the first time. No-one wants to to play a game that was just made to be Dragon Age Four. They want a game that is Dragon Age and just happens to be the fourth one.

It can be corridors for all I care, as long as they are awesome corridors chock-full of good content.) Well, we should remember that the first 4-5 years of that time were a minimal team doing pre-production work, which might have needed to be dramatically expanded to really flesh out the design of the game. I hope they got a lot done in that time, but realistically we should probably think of this as 3-5 years of actual development.

8 years' time for a triple A developer should mean a bump in quality and/or scope. (And by "scope", I don't necessarily mean "true open world" or something. It can be corridors for all I care, as long as they are awesome corridors chock-full of good content.) Well, we should remember that the first 4-5 years of that time were a minimal team doing pre-production work, which might have needed to be dramatically expanded to really flesh out the design of the game. I hope they got a lot done in that time, but realistically we should probably think of this as 3-5 years of actual development. as long as they get an idea of exactly what they're doing, that should be good enough.

Since DA4 will not be a aRPG. like DA:I
On what basis? You have literally nothing pointing to DA4 being a multiplayer focused game and even if it was many multiplayer games still have character creators. I know negativity is on brand for you, but you can at least try to justify it.
Interesting how you react to opposing viewpoints.
As a positive fella, tell me why Bio will develop an aRPG, based on what Blake said. How will player retention in a live-service DA4 aRPG game work? How will EA get recurring back end revenue?
