I mostly use "Postimages" postimages.org/ it sometimes has some glitches as they have been making back end tech changes so sometimes images disappear for a while. Seems to have been fine for a while now though.

Alright... after 157 hours of wandering around like a camera-happy tourist, I've finally finished.

I get he means photo mode, but that's still a lot of hours.

Some of that is just wandering around to pick up dialogue, especially in the cities. There is also new ambient companion dialogue after
nearly every quest and side quest, so I bounced back and forth from the Lighthouse the whole game. 😏

Ha ! I beat you! In story mode, I still get killed by some bosses because they come at me so fast in my face that I can't move left, right or backwards. Add some game crashes and that's my enjoyment level. Still, I persevere and slowly grind my way forward. Another problemo I have is my tendency to get sidelined by trivial quests whose banter is that of high schoolers and searching the new areas for loot.

Great video from Kala Elizabeth (she doesn't spoil anything thankfully!) - she likes Veilguard but talks the identity and lack of cohesion when it comes to Veilguard. Interestingly she saw Veilguard for the first time years ago and "mourns what could have been" so seems some great stuff - things we're now seeing from the art book - was cut.

It encapsulates how I feel - I'm really enjoying Veilguard - and one part in particular, Weisshaupt, feels peak Dragon Age - but it feels like a puzzle with a few pieces missing. I do think lack of choice carrying adds to that a bit but I feel it's missing stuff, it feels less cohesive. It has a lot more in common with other Dragon Age games than Andromeda did other Mass Effect games, but feels a bit apart in some aspects. Even playing different characters each game, DA felt like one long story.

I'm only in act 2 though (and doing everything - side quests, factions, finding everything) so my opinion may well change by the end!

Was going to put this in the criticism thread but not sure this is critical enough for that thread haha.

Not particularly wanting to turn this into a big debate.

My instinct is that BioWare are happy to have shipped this thing.
It's come out pretty well considering what I suspect has been a car crash of a 9-year development cycle.
The diversion into and back out of live services cannot have done it any favours.

At least Mass Effect 5, with the clarity of Andromeda and quickly learned lessons from Anthem in early development should have a 'cleaner' development cycle.
