If anyone is still worried that Anthem is not doing well and will spell the end for BioWare before they can release the next installment of Dragon Age, please have a look at this:

Admittedly it is only one article. I tried to find the source material from The NPD Group but you have to sign up to the company and I suspect once you do that they'll come back to you with "Pay this much and we will share our market research with you!" Since I'm not a journalist or in the gaming industry trying to do market research, I won't be signing up. Anyway, Anthem's apparently been doing well in spite of all the complaints.

I have repeatedly apologized for Dragon Age II, stop subtweeting me, sheesh.

I mean, Vol. 1 gave us the details on every nation and organization of Thedas, and Vol. 2 showed us more about the characters and some new tidbits of lore. Between those two, seems like it's already a full package.

Not that I'd complain if we actually got a Vol. 3, but what would it even talk about?

Though I have to admit, Patrick's Twitter Page update today is... a tad concerning.

What does that mean? Is he going to leave Bioware or something?

He's the Executive Producer on both Anthem and Dragon Age. I can imagine that it's an uber-stressful job, especially if one of the franchises you're at the helm of has just launched. If I recall correctly Mark Darrah mentioned somewhere that he was so tired for the first few months after shipping DAI he barely remembers anything, so I can imagine he's no less tired now.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't thinking about retirement or taking a longer break or something. Game development is a stressful job at the best of times and he's been in Bioware for a very long time.

Yea, one can try and extrapolate something from their Twitter feeds, but I don't feel comfortable delving too deep into it. Not everything has to be about work indeed, and even if it is, we have no idea what is the context for it.

Thanks for the clarification. I just don't get that 'come out the other side', as a non-English speaker.

Surviving Anthem i guess lol, EA wants 5-6 million sold copies by the end of March (Q4 2019), and the clock is ticking.
