I’m trying to imagine Sartoz handing out treats to kids… I don’t buy it, you totally just keep a bowl of candy outside your doorstep, don’t you? Lol. Lol... I'm so misunderstood... I do ask for a trick (older kids)... which stuns some and don't know what to do... others now come prepared...
Last year I carved the head of a Canadian Sphynx. Took me forever, even with my carving toolset. This year it's a Darth Vader mask. Simpler. Ayy cheers! I get to start downloading at 12pm so I imagine by the time the first kids are showing up it'll galvanize me out of the CC to hand out treats xD Edit: in prev years I've carved the Inquisition symbol on pumpkins with the help of a very reliable dremmel, and then some stuff from our DnD campaign. But this year it's like...Veilguarrrd couldn't you have given me anything but a stylized V I can't just carve Roman numeral 5 on a pumpkin. So it's fall designs for the steps this year 🤣 |

Remaster is completely off the books. Not only because of the spaghetti code, but also because there aren't enough people at Bioware that have worked the code. Can a remaster, or even remake be done externally then? I wouldn't be surprised if there were studios eager to wrangle with DAO, although of course there's a question of cost/benefit ratio to EA. I would say remake yes. But as many dev has said: The engine used for DAO and DA2 can't be used anymore, so a remaster isn't possible.

Ngl, all my characters always have short hair if there is a customization option. Years of martial arts and acrobatic training makes me cringe a bit on long haired characters that jump around fighting. Especially if they have ornaments in their hair that would hurt as a motherf****r when they hit you on the nose with the whiplash (looking at you, Aloy).
But with the hair physics of Veilguard, I am so tempted to make a fabulous curly long haired toon.

Heads up.
Several threads will be coming on stream today, many to support gameplay and story discussion. Others relating to 'pre-launch' topics will be anchored (people can finish up discussions, but new posts no longer bump the thread).
These changes support a helpful transition from a forum board anticipating a new game, to one supporting a game being played.

Honestly for a DAO remake wouldn't mind some meddling. Just nuke Oghren from orbit and adjust Morrigans approval so it actually makes sense and think we'd have a much better game. If i had something to say, i would cut oghren and put instead a male dwarf romance option in and makeing him a rogue. I would also cut most of the gifts. And i agree with your opinion on Morrigan. Also i think Leliana need a little bit of work for all games she is in. (choices/Consequences) I would make Shale a full companion, instaed of a DLC companion.
Also i would make 9 companions + dog. Then we would need one more: female mage elve from kirwall?
So yes DAO is one of the best games, but it isn't perfekt.

Yeah if I get around to her Andromeda will have long hair. Also may try actually putting makeup on her to. We'll see since I have zero knowledge in that may have to quiz the wife...who also does not wear any. And this is why I think we should have CC options that differ at the home base and in the field.

You know you just gave me the idea, why not replace Oghren with Sigurn? She was awesome and the expanded role, one to one, could have even had her be a romance option.

Maybe, but then you have 2 female dwarfs Shale and Sigrun. But it could be a way that would be okay for old Bioware fans, because Sigrun is allready in the game.

I’m going to defend Oghren a little. Yes, he is a repository of mid to late 2000s gross and sometimes sexist “funny drunk” humor, but I always appreciated that they accurately portrayed his antics (and alcoholism) as self destructive. He’s a fuck up that’s destroyed every important relationship he’s ever had because of his vices and insecurities, and at least in Awakening we can push him to make some better choices for his family. I’d rather they took another stab at the character from that direction than remove him entirely. |
