This might help people figure out travel times in Thedas, if it's about the size of western Europe as Patrick Weekes mentioned. It's an interactive map of the Roman Empire (which is of course quite a bit larger than just western Europe!) put together by academics at Stanford University. It allows you to figure out travel times on foot, by oxcart, on horseback, horse relay, boat, etc. orbis.stanford.edu/TIL: Using a horse relay, a messenger could travel up to 250 km per day on Roman roads. Of course most of the old Tevinter roads in Thedas are now in poor repair, so a horse relay messenger probably could not travel as quickly in Thedas as they could on the Roman roads. Still! That is pretty darn fast. ETA: Travel from Virunum (now Magdalensburg in Austria, which is considered pretty much the easternmost country in western Europe) to Pax Iulia (roughly analogous to Beja, Portugal, one of the westernmost cities in western Europe) was 3114 km and would have taken: 26.8 days by horse (56 km/day) and sea. 34.1 days on foot (30 km/day) and sea. 94.1 days on foot (30 km/day) by land only. 50.4 days by horse (56 km/day) by land only. That would be like travelling from Rivain to the Western Approach in Thedas.

I personall have also head cannoned it at 3 years as well...it just makes more sense to me. Though finding out Thedas is the size of 'Western Europe' might force me to revise that number...down. I mean that seems very tiny for a continent. Though what's funny about that is that makes Sehron/ Par Vollen kind of like the UK then.

Well, what we see of Thedas isn’t the entirety of that continent. We know there is more to the south which is like an arctic and more to the west since that’s where the HoF went. Personally i saw it as taking place about a year so yay me I guess. Maybe next game if the use the Eluvians like they did in Trespasser we won’t really have to worry about how long the distances are.

I usually just ignore the fact that some of the places we go for small scenes are mentioned by name. I like to imagine it's a more local place, or I suppose it could just happen to coincide with another mission (Kinda like a flashback/forward). I think it's more a result of needing to reuse settings, rather than the narrative needing them to be a certain place/time. (With the exception of the LI Cullen scene where the place is important to him, aswell as any Solas scene which potentially could just be in our head). Also, all of the optional stuff (except companion quests) can be done after Solas has left, so really it only needs to be a year for completing the main quests. Some of the minor quests could even be considered to be done by other people (Like a WT mission). The Inquisitor is just a representation of this enabling the player to experience the narrative personally instead of by a message. At least that's my take .

I prefer to not ignore travel time, purely because it makes All New, Faded For Her even more suspicious than it already is. Solas’s proposed timeline is bonkers. Sure, Solas, it became a demon when they summoned it, before we left Skyhold, right? And they’ve been fighting it solidly for the... days or weeks it took for us to travel here? Just a bunch of apostates, in a dangerous area, fighting a massive pride demon 24/7. Good thing they packed plenty of ham sandwiches when they fled Kirkwall, so they could munch on them while they fought. No, of course they’re sheltered circle mages who need protection from bandits, I’m sure they never encountered any bandits in the *checks watch* 4 years since the Gallows was annulled.

That date looks like a placeholder. what does that mean? the year is accurate but not the date? or not? It's probably arbitrary. Maybe that's as far out as their system will allow them to put a date in the future? I wouldn't put any kind of effort into trying to reason out any sort of meaning from it.

I think that might be when the new consoles will come out, so those placeholders are just saying those games will be next gen. Though it is interesting that list has games that haven’t been announced yet, like Titanfall 3.

No, of course they’re sheltered circle mages who need protection from bandits, I’m sure they never encountered any bandits in the *checks watch* 4 years since the Gallows was annulled. If the travel time and places we go to seem too unrealistic I headcanon that the scene may LOOK like it has happened in Skyhold, but has in fact happened near the quest's destination (because, realistically, personal quests for all of the Inner Circle would likely not all began or ended in Skyhold, since Inky is travelling all over continent and likely isn't as present in Skyhold as often as it may seem). Thus, Inky tried to cheer up Cole while in Val Royeaux; Solas and Inky were very near Exalted Plains when he felt his friend being trapped and so on.

Okay, some new info on this photo- apparently the dates are about a preorder. So, if it's true, you can buy them starting in November. Then release somewhere in 2021?

Cyberpunk 2077 is already available for pre-orders and the date on the image is its release date. Half the games on the 15.11.20 dates have 2020 release dates, just not fixed day, the others haven't even been officially announced yet. Anyway, the list is fake, Sea of Solitude released in July 2019 for all platforms.

They got their dates wrong (it was released on Nov. 3/09), but...Game Informer @gameinformerTen years ago today, Dragon Age: Origins was release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. We featured the game as the cover story of issue #187 of Game Informer back in 2008. Any fond memories of your time battling the Darkspawn and Archdemon? Are they maybe confusing it with Awakening? When was that...? Edit - yes...yes they were. 16th March, 2010.
