Take this to some other thread. And all this because I said "I don't like [thing]". Imagine if I had said something really divisive. All you do is say “I don’t like what Bioware has done”... we get it, you hate Bioware anymore. No need to continually bitch about it here. Most of us are beyond sick of the overt negativity.

If I hated Bioware, I wouldn't be here. I love Bioware, which is why I want them to do better. But saying "it's fine", to every misstep and regressive step Bioware takes, leads to reception of their game similar to Anthem and Andromeda. If you want DA4 to be a regression from even Anthem, saying "it's fine", will accomplish just that. Bioware needs to prove me wrong, not you wrong.

Umm I don't think the vast majority of people are saying 'its fine.' I think, though I can't speak for everyone, even the biggest Bio fans think they can do things better but A. everything has a context to them...Epler tried to provide some context (context which matches everything I know about game design) and your argument is...'ha this proves BioWare is already giving up on making quality games and they are just going to 'settle'.' And B. I think someone can still like a game despite its problems and flaws...even love them...even view them as quality. Sure I hope BioWare fixes the problems I had with Inquisition, while not making any new mistakes, and suceed in delivering a truly godly game but if they don't manage that...I mean we'll have to see...but I fully expect a game up to BioWare's usual quality.

I fully expect a game up to BioWare's usual qualityI just want to point out Bioware's current quality. Well I don't tend to follow revies or believe consensus of the mob either when ti comes to...much of anything these days. Anthem wasn't a great game but I have played games worthy of a 4.0 and 5.9, Anthem was nowhere that level of trash. Besides there are several mitigating factors of *why* Anthem wasn't ideal, especially given to what types of games us Bio fans are used to.

I think Hrungr is either a time traveler or just has all these tweets set up for automatic posting via some kind of technological black magic. No one can be this good.

Snip..I mean we'll have to see...but I fully expect a game up to BioWare's usual quality.
Bio's usual quality, from my perspective, went down hill starting with their use of the FB engine. Granted we all have our individual assessment of their recent games. But, you must agree that even EA dropped Andromeda and Anthem ver 1 is a total disaster .
Excellence is my expectation with DA4. EA, imo, won't be happy with Bio's recent usual quality. Plus, I believe EA gave Bio a reason to achieve this high bar. Case in point is all that nonsense posts the studio staff is peppering the the Twitter channel in an attempt to maintain fan interest. So, bottom line, Bio is trying... hard.
And, as you say, we'll have to wait and see.

I don't actually agree with either assessment actually. Though I suppose in full disclosure I didn't actually get Anthem until months after launch but since they are still talking about an 'Anthem next' (I think? what's the word on that?) it would still be pretty much the original game.

I wouldn't choose this hill to die on, personally. The mod in question just zooms in the camera to be closer than the vanilla camera does when you are in a non-cinematic convo. Its just a tweak to a numerical value, not a new cinematic tool. And yet it does vastly improve the feel of the side convos.
I imagine it only took a few hours at most once the modder knew what code to change, which is something the devs would know already. I think the small change the mod does falls less into the category of "things that we didn't have enough money for" and more "things the devs didn't get around to, considered and rejected, or didn't even think of in the first place". Like the keybind for walking or the ability to zoom out the tac cam more, back when the game first launched.
Oh I don't know. This thing would probably have to be tested and so on. On all platforms. Then go through certification and AFAIK that can be expensive. How long did it take them to add a few more pyjamas to the game just because they had to check each outfit with every cutscene to see if they look OK there? I'm not sure if the tweak is as simple as you make it to be. I mean, you can check the code for it yourself. You can see its just a matter of changing a number in the right line of code, mainly b/c the mod provides a tutorial for how to adjust it yourself if you don't like how close it gets.
And all this because I said "I don't like [thing]". Imagine if I had said something really divisive. Actually I said it because multiple times now the powers that be have noted about getting this thread back on track, since this tipis was overshadowing the tweets. To be fair, the mods were slapping our wrists over a different topic.
But:
Get ready for all the very ambiguous tweets coming (just wrapping a big showcase meeting) Showcase meeting? Sounds fancy.

AE, only a handful of people uses this mod - we have no idea if it actually works for everyone or how changing one number affects the whole code across the board. I've had very simple mods and code tweaks that have prevented me from running the game, while they worked for others on different setups. And we're talking just PC - what about the consoles? And again - if I understand game development right, then this isn't just a matter of simple tweaking of the code, then it has to be playtested (engaging Q&A departament), certified and uploaded.

It’s good to feel the anticipation ramping up again There is a somewhat cynical part of me that thinks teases like Luke's comment are meant to be just tantalising enough to make us tune into EA play because 'you never know', but also non-committal enough that no one can get mad when they don't show anything.

For me "showcase meeting" sounds like an internal thing to show other devs what components of the video game you've been working on. It might get your colleagues excited enough about the project to start posting enigmatic things on their personal Twitter accounts because they're human beings with human emotions, but are not allowed to say anything publically due to NDAs. But I wouldn't take it as a hint that there will be a DA4 announcement on June 18 during EA Play.

Which is why I won't bother tuning in to EA play. I'm not interested in their sports games nor their mobile games. nor about meaningless teasers.
C&C re-master is a game I'm interested in but, again, not worth my time. I'd rather enjoy sitting in my back yard drinking a brewski with my buds. It's certainly hot around here.
Game web sites will post their usual post EA-Play analysis which will be more than satisfactory to me.

Do we even know that this mod is successful on its own terms? I never even bothered to install it since the vid struck me as slightly worse than vanilla. ( not surprising since its purpose is to solve a problem I don't have.)
