I dreamt last night Bioware did a surprise drop of DA4, and I was so excited to play! Very sad to wake up to reality... On another note, I really wish they would make a Hrungr demon for DA4 - I think you deserve it after all your work Hrungr! Make it a crocodile in the fade chasing birds (like how you catch tweets in real life).

Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes I'm concerned that video games are setting unrealistic writing standards for mortally wounded people jotting down notes about how they died and where their personal effects should be delivered.
John Epler @eplerjc I used to think so too.
But with the thousands of free templates available at 'Death Confessions Dot Com', I was able to write my death confession quickly and easily, before I was claimed by the void.

Self awareness is good. But nothing beats the end of the Cthulhu mythos story "The Hounds of Tindalos", where the journal writer actually ends his last diary entry by actually writing "aaargh" as the hounds attack.

But nothing beats the end of the Cthulhu mythos story "The Hounds of Tindalos", where the journal writer actually ends his last diary entry by actually writing "aaargh" as the hounds attack. Lovecraft protagonists also have the most amazing way of saving the shocking revelation for the very last line of whatever they're writing, whatever the document is meant to be or who's meant to be the in-universe audience, even if they have to skip over the logical chronological position for this horrible fact. (Special shout-out to the narrator of The Call of Cthulu who starts out by saying 'the guy who compiled all these documents knew they should never be shared with anyone and was prevented from destroying them by his untimely death ... so let me just write all this down for you real quick!')

A series outlining the current whereabouts of our favorite friends from Dragon Age: Origins, Awakening, II and Inquisition. I hope BioWare is going to stick to some of the comments I have seen reported since ME3 where they don't want to have characters that might be dead returning. I think the nature of game development did a disservice to those characters in Mass Effect 3 (even Kaiden/Ashley in ME2).

You people are so lucky to have three booster shots. I don't think they have had 3 booster shots but that the 3rd shot was the booster. 5 shots in all would be overkill. On the DA front. I may be reading too much into this but why is the Crossroads now being illustrated as though the eluvians are infected with red lyrium? Always before they were either shown as blue, when active, or grey when deactivated but now they are red.

It does harken back to DAO though when Tamalan (sp) was initially infected by the Blight from his exposure to the Eluvian. Wouldn't it be hillarious if we find out that the Elves creation of the Eluvians is what created or discovered the Blight. That it wasn't found in the Fade or the Void which is presumably the Deep Roads but found in the under space? Of course then just connecting the conspiracy web this does seem very Mass Effect-y given the Reapers usage of Mass Relays and what we discovered was the connection between the two.

I don't think they have had 3 booster shots but that the 3rd shot was the booster. Yes it was my third shot in total. Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't feeling very good and my mind was a bit muddled. But aside from feeling very tired in general and still having some residual headache I'm decently good now.

It does harken back to DAO though when Tamalan (sp) was initially infected by the Blight from his exposure to the Eluvian. That whole thing seems a bit weird now. I thought at the time that Tamlen had simply been sucked through to wherever the eluvian led or that he was infected by the creatures we killed and then kidnapped by the darkspawn. After all, we were infected too and I'm pretty sure we didn't touch the eluvian. Now he said he could see a dark city and some strange, sinister being, yet the destination of Merrill's eluvian, that people said we could see in DAI, was the Crossroads. Unless that was only after she cleansed it and it led somewhere else while tainted. A bit like how the palantir of Orthanc was connected to the mind of Sauron until Aragon rested it from him in a battle of wills, after which he could look wherever he wanted. Still, the fact the eluvian could be infected would point to it being organic in some way, so who knows exactly what strange magic the elves used in its construction. Now June was said by the Dalish to be the master-craftsman of the Creators, whilst DAI hinted that may not have accurately indicated what sort of magic he could do, although I always question how human scholars could work these things out when the Dalish couldn't. The writing we find in the Vir Dirthara described June as "Clever" and creating the eluvians and then the Crossroads would require a fair bit of ingenuity, so I wonder if it was his masterpiece. June was definitely one of those mysteries that was started in DAI and yet not solved in Trespasser despite the concentration there on elven lore, so I wonder if it is going be solved next game.

Unless that was only after she cleansed it and it led somewhere else while tainted. A bit like how the palantir of Orthanc was connected to the mind of Sauron until Aragon rested it from him in a battle of wills, after which he could look wherever he wanted. We know from what happened with Morrigan's Eluvian in Skyhold that eluvians don't necessarily leads to one specific place, and the Blight may have either 'glitched' the mirror or led to wherever it wanted to lead. So there's no reason to assume that eluvians can only lead to one location. I still maintain that that the Well Of Sorrows water lady from Temple of Mythal went INTO the Mirror (possibly re-energizing the Network) and that Mythal didn't necessarily send her power anywhere, but either energized or re-directed specific mirror(s) in the post-credit scene. Also... yes. We really don't know what kind of specific magic powers the mirrors, how powers like Blights affects them, or how they'd work after thousands of years of the network decaying and the world being Veiled now. But I'd say that if a single mage can find a way to 'hack' eluvians - even if one or several of the bunch (like Morrigan or Qunari did) - there's no reason to assume no-one else can't figure out how they work. Heck... Dorian suggests that he's seen enough how they work that we're facing a serious possibility of him either developing a method of hacking into existing network or creating a mini-network of his own eluvians. Whether that plot-line has survived for us to see the payoff in DA4 remains to be seen, but the seeds of it have already been planted.

Would explain why they were so hell-bent on fighting the Titans for it. And we already know Lyrium can be tainted. I feel like whatever helped construct the Eluvians was also that "something else," the Inquisitor mentioned in Trespasser. It would also kind of make sense with how the Eluvians work and how they can direct one anywhere. It's as if each one is apart of a whole, the "whole" being the entire network. I mean, after completing Descent, Valta somehow leaves notes at Skyhold, even though she's deep beneath the surface. I can only imagine she gained the ability to travel by being connected to The Titan, and may have flowed with the lyrium from beneath the surface to the lyrium above the surface. It's almost like the ancient elves built their entire empire off the backs of Titans. I still can't figure out how Solas feels about that. Solas is downright curious when it comes to Dwarves and the creations they make. He feels sad for Varric about his lost culture. He even called a Titan "a mighty hero." Yet there is a big old painting of him in the deep roads titled "Death of a Titan" with his bald head in it, executing said "death." Now June was said by the Dalish to be the master-craftsman of the Creators, whilst DAI hinted that may not have accurately indicated what sort of magic he could do, although I always question how human scholars could work these things out when the Dalish couldn't. I think that everything is in our face when it comes to June. A craftsman, clever, and short. June is giving dwarf. "June's role changing over time," may mean June being a child of the stone at first - maybe in the ancient war - but then went to the surface and joined the Elvhen empire for more power. I think June marrying Sylaise was purely political. June became a "god" in his own right separate from a Titan, and Sylaise used June to gain access to more lyrium. I think June may be an answer as to how Dwarves actually worked pre-veil, as there is a difference between them and Titans.
