Agreed, Clark.
Hogwart's is the only thing left on this year's slate that I am pretty curious about, and I don't buy new at release so.
Glad there are titles that excite some folks.
At least we'll see DA4 before the heat death of the Universe Star Citizen releases.

Don’t worry, Star Citizen just needs another $200 million and you’ll have a playable beta.
At most, you'll have to kick in an additional $300 million.
Just imagine how great the game after you donate just $400 million more.
Yes, sir, that extra $500 million is going to get you one heck of a pre-release experience.

Mark Darrah @biomarkdarrah It might be more accurate to say that mounts are a feature that can take over your game
Jon Renish @jonrenish They sure take a large a-mount of work.
I wouldn't want to saddle a team with adding mounts late in production.
Mounts quickly become a mane feature whenever they are added to a game.
Adding mounts never makes a game more stable.

The only way I would hope they incorporate mounts into the game is if the companions can ride with you. Otherwise ditch them... And honestly even in SP games that do have them I often find myself walking everywhere, whether that is intentional or not.

The issue I found I was having with mounts in Inquisition is that due to their design and implementation gave me the feeling I was moving slower with them then when I was walking. If there are mounts in a single player game anymore I am left to wonder if they are there because there is just so much stuff that can be avoided in the game and if so why didn't they try and make the game a more streamlined experience.

I couldn't care less if they put mounts out to pasture in DA4, but I know we'll just end up right where we left off with fans whining like spoiled nags about their absence. It is a pity they didn't implement them fully; in other words allow mounted combat, which would appear to have been the intention at one time considering there are perks that improve your ability in this respect that were totally redundant in actual game play. I am hoping that if they do return, DAI was a trial run to iron out any problems and that they will be utilised in a more martial way in the future. Otherwise I will not be unhappy if they do not return, even though I did get some amusement out of them in DAI. The only way I would hope they incorporate mounts into the game is if the companions can ride with you. Otherwise ditch them... That was part of the problem with them, the fact that your companions disappear and cannot interact with one another so long as you are on the mount, so if you want to hear their banter, you need to stay on foot. Even more frustrating was that the timer continued to operate behind the scenes, so a banter would trigger and start to play out silently, with me only hearing the last part of it on dismounting from my horse. The mounts should have been useful for getting around large areas, like the Hinterlands and the Hissing Wastes but I was forced to stay on foot to avoid missing the companion banter. Mounts would also be more relevant if we travelled in real time and there are benefits to arriving somewhere faster than on foot but this has never been an issue with Dragon Age and all travel conveniently overlooks the distances involved or the logistical difficulties in getting from one place to another. One aspect I did find fun though was putting someone else up other than my Inquisitor. Dorian looked very dashing and even more like Zorro when I gave him a suitable hat; Varric looked rather good too and I can imagine Solas muttering about halla being better, like Felassan in Masked Empire. Purchasing an entire stable of the different horse breeds was also a way to use up surplus funds and I could then ring the changes depending on which location I was intending travelling to next. Of course, this was not something I did on my first run when I was focused on the plot but adding in a bit of variety subsequently.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't care that much for mounts except for the ways I could use them to "cheat" my way across the map by avoiding fall damage. I wouldn't be terribly upset if they were removed completely, I'm kinda hoping we will be spending most of our time in city landscapes anyway this time around so the need for a steed won't be that great.

Otherwise I will not be unhappy if they do not return, even though I did get some amusement out of them in DAI. I thought they refrained form that in part due to the setting? I'd say that except for Hissing Wastes and Western Approach perhaps, most areas are unsuited for mounted combat due to slopes, obstacles and general lack of space to maneouver. I also guess that, historically speaking, ranged attacks from horseback while circling around the enemy (even more so if magical I guess) would so unfair to the poor melee infantry opponents that they would have to create a special balance around that. I'm gonna be honest, I don't care that much for mounts except for the ways I could use them to "cheat" my way across the map by avoiding fall damage. Good to see that I'm not the only one who has done this. Someone recently complained to me again about my Skyrim install not having a horse mod. I, like, never use normal mounts in this game. While they are even better at climbing and reaching unintended places than in DAI, they will die from a fall of 10 cm, apart from being expensive. Heck, even Beth seemed to have recognised that, as a DLC offers a summonable undead horse. Oh, and while one can shoot bows and swing swords from horseback, magic ain't working.
I will have to say to say that mounts allowed me to complete one minor quest in DAI I would not have done otherwise. And I don't mean the horse racing thing.

Tbh I don't like mounted combat in most games. I remember playing Ocarina of Time and having to shoot stuff from Epona's back for some mission and it was so hard for me. (Okay, I was a kid, but still) I love mounts for getting fast from point A to point B ( at ESO fully upgraded mounts ) but I don't need mounted combat at all. Also short story about my first Skyrim horseFirst time I played Skyrim LE, I bought a Dapple Grey horse at the Riften stable, I named her Snowstomper and absolutely loved her. Then a dragon attacked. I killed the dragon and went looking for my horse. She was dead. I was so sad, the next horse I bought was the dark brown one from Whiterun, who I named Grief. Later I only ever used Arvaak when I needed a mount, because he can't die. Myself I'm partial to my two of harts. I'm imagining my Inquisitor riding them like she was water-skiing, cheered on by Bull and Sera...
I'd like the harts more if they sounded a little less like a banshee's death-wail... I love the Harts your comment reminded me of the ESO Indriks, cause people used to say they sound like they're having asthma

I was thinking on the whole mount thing that they can implement in very small way is just use them for fast travel. Like once you open the map and you select a location to fast travel it goes back in, your horse pops up, and then the screen fades out as you 'travel' to your next destination on the horse.

Ah, but there's a problem with that: Elden Ring uses a single-player combat system, while Dragon Age is a party-based combat system. It's possible to animate one Player Character riding a horse into combat, but what about one PC plus three party members, each using their own distinctive fighting style?

Agree with you. Mounts are really unnecessary. However, if the warden(s) are back I do like to see them riding gryphons. Now this would definitely add to the story.

Are you talking about the mosaic piece in the elven burial area? I've used that trick to clip my way in to avoid having to desecrate the graves to find the key. Other times, I just wait until I've already got the Dalish on board and then break them all open.
