Sorry but we have in every DA main game a warden companion. Yes Anders / Justice was an ex-warden and Blackwall was after the twist a fake warden but in my opinion they count as warden companions because of their overall connection with the order in their respective games. But be fair i don´t like it myself but DA 4 will have a grey warden companion. Also don´t forget Anderfels and Weisshaupt Fortress which we are very likely to visit in DAD. So no i can´t possible see that they doing DAD without a warden companion. Well again the whole line is important: "Then we find people he doesn´t know". The first part is also crucial. Someone from the Inquisition has to find those new people. I don´t say this has to be Harding but there is no way that there is a Inquisition recruiter if you will in the party. Not with the whole Dreadwolf storyline and build up in DAI.
With ghilan'nain's horror hot tubs puking out terrible darkspawn abominations and the venatori experimenting with blighted lyrium our grey warden companion will have plenty of plot to be involved in.

I find it highly likely that we will get a Warden given TVN as well. DAI showed Thedas organizations at their worse DAD will begin to show a push back.

The setting itself is ‘flawed’, with all countries and organizations having at least some flaw or negativity around them, and the Wardens were shown in Origins to not be the pure-hearted heroes that some believe they are…but Inquisition definitely took that a step further. I do agree that there are good chances that we’ll have a Warden companion. Possibly one that is a member of the organization in full, and not someone like Anders, or Blackwall.

You understand me wrong. the recuiter of the inquisition is in my eyes Varric or harding as NPC questgiver.
In sola's eyes we must remain insignificant henchmen until we are ready to trick him. Like david defeated Goliat.

I do agree that there are good chances that we’ll have a Warden companion. Possibly one that is a member of the organization in full, and not someone like Anders, or Blackwall. This is quite realistic though. Organizations are always going to have some level of flaws and some levels of...merit...since organizations are made up of people and since people can be have both flaws and good things about them. Whether or not an organization is good or bad can be determined, on some level, on how much harm or good said organizations do. As far as Dragon Age is concerned this definitley trickles down to said organizations and on some level I am really not sure how much this is going to change. Solas himself made a comment on the larger organizations are the more unyieldy they are, the more corrupt maybe, and the more they drft from their original mission. And we have seen the results of this largely through the three Dragon Age games to this point, cuminating in Inquisition which showed a lot of the insitutitions in the south unyieldy to the point of being at their lowest...and then getting cut down to size. And so far though the stuff we have seen in TVN seems to point to organizations in Thedas, some of them, beginning to pick themselves up and rebound. Even the Crows, to this point portrayed as very mercenary assassins with sketch beginnings, have been revealed to have started as a monoastic order where a plot is started in TVN which attempts to kill the current Crow leadership in an attempt to restore the Crows to their origins...which seems to be a bit of a theme.

I do agree that there are good chances that we’ll have a Warden companion. Possibly one that is a member of the organization in full, and not someone like Anders, or Blackwall. I think this is likely to be the case too. It would be nice to have a genuine, committed Warden as a companion but not someone as naive about the organisation as Alistair was. So perfectly prepared to admit we do what we have to do to get things done but that is still more than most other organisations or rulers do to keep the ordinary people safe. A female Warden would make a change too, although I am not really bothered either way. So you are telling me that we have no mage companion in DAD? That is not what I meant. Maevaris is a powerful mage, well beyond apprentice level magic, so to drop her back to anything between level 1 and level 6 would seem incongruous. However, if we did a series of quests first, raising our own level of expertise, then Maevaris could come in at a level of magic more appropriate to how she has previously been shown. Even Dorian didn't join us until the latter part of Act 1 in DAI (around level 5/6 at the lowest I recall) and Maevaris has been around longer than him, actively navigating the dangerous world of Tevinter politics, so a low level of magic would not be appropriate and she would effectively have experienced a "loss of magical ability". So, no, I'm not saying all our mage companions have to be like Emile du Lancet. Incidentally, they got away with it with Solas because, as he later admits, he had been asleep for millennia and it took him a while to build up his magical power again. It was rather harder to explain with Anders but I suppose his drop back in ability could be accounted for by the merge with Justice, which drained him of mana levels and so required him to build again from scratch. As for Vivienne, again we don't encounter her at the very beginning of the game and, besides, I wouldn't expect even a First Enchanter of the southern Circles to necessarily have the same level of magical expertise as a senior Magister of Tevinter because of the limitations placed upon their advancement in magic by the Templars. So what seems extraordinary power in the south, is just commonplace in Tevinter.

I find it highly likely that we will get a Warden given TVN as well. DAI showed Thedas organizations at their worse DAD will begin to show a push back.
Pushback? Where's the fun in that (from a story writing perspective)?
Tevinter is an opportunity for the writers. We will see all kinds of chars and organisations.... weak, flawed, strong, smart, criminals. evil, maybe a fluffy piece like Sara (some will disagree... street smart perhaps). The Tevinter nation allows slavery, per se, evil to start with. Besides, I can't see Tevinter organisations, gov or private being any better in terms of structure, policies or goals. The Magisters and the Imperial Archon are dealing with a war with the Qunari and a Blight is coming... the former is a mess of their own doing (imo) and the latter something they were not prepared or expecting.
To suggest that we can expect superior strategies and tactics from Tev organisations is something I don't see the writers contemplating. Rather, I'd like to believe their focus is in char development, meaningful quests, superior NPC interactions, solid main story arc no sub ping or Elf Roots for God's sake.
And yes, I agree with you will will get a Warden.

That wouldn't explain her loss of magical ability. So you are telling me that we have no mage companion in DAD? I don´t see this your point here. I would argue that makes it more likely because all of DA mages companion are also pretty formidable and special. Also this include the other DAD mages even the playercharacter when picking the mage class (not at the beginning i guess) are no jokes because for sake of gameplay they have to be like all companions mass murderer. I mean we not getting i don´t know him as DAD mage companion. Edit: I guess in theory it would be interessing what Bioware could do with him but No.
That fine haircut needs to come back for DA4.

You forgot the absolute plot armour they have. Unless it is Crows killing Crows for some reason (i.e. Zevran and the Eight little Talons plot). I've to read that again (since I thought all the mess in ELT was about one Talon making a deal woith the Qunari: "kill your colleages, we will spare you"), but that sounds a lot like "another Chantric killer squad". Now that I think of it, I still wanna know who ordered the death-by-cake of the templar commanders. Hopefully there will be an alternative for those of us who don't have Netflix. You could always use the time-honoured tradition of "borrowing someone's password." ... or just badgering them into a binge-watching evening. With six episodes, one evening might suffice.

Welp, I have something to make a video about tomorrow This is like a checklist from what I wanted for a Dragon Age show - animated - new characters - new story - new places Last one might be a bit iffy considering we’ll likely be in at least Minrathous in Dreadwolf. Still, Tevinter is a big place. The desert locations… Maybe Perivantium. Just cross fingers it gets the lore right.

I've to read that again (since I thought all the mess in ELT was about one Talon making a deal woith the Qunari: "kill your colleages, we will spare you"), That was what happened. It was actually a good idea on the Qunari's part since technically they weren't invading, so not breaking the Llomerryn Accord, just staging a political coup. It smacks more of the Ben'Hassrath though, so likely Par Vollen does secretly approve of what the Antaam are up to. Either that or Tevinter were right to fear Arishok Sten, because he does know how to deal with subtlety in politics as well as the direct crush them with force.

While I do think this is somewhat likely on the flip side we also have seen that the Ben'Hassrath is active in Thedas in TVN as well. They may not be approving of what the Antaam is doing and are more concerned with hunting down Solas directly...but being in Antiva shouldn't be that much of a surprise really given that...though this begs the question if there is going to end up being something important in Antiva related to the Dread Wolf.
