Hm... An interesting interpretation... My question, though, is this: Do we honestly believe that the Bio writers sat down with the graphic artist(s) to visualized the written word into a visual depiction and be cryptic at the same time?
I mean, I love to read the fans' imagination / interpretation / Lore knowledge. But, it seems to me we the fans write the Lore / add to it ... in more understandable fashion.

While I'm not surprised we got nothing at SGF given the recent news, I am a little surprised we are almost halfway through the year and all we have heard from BioWare up to this point is one blog post (skill trees) in February.
Last year in October when Dreadwolf hit the alpha milestone, Gary McKay said: "We also want to continue being transparent with you, our community, and keep you up to date on what we're crafting."
I was encouraged by that at the time, but I feel BioWare has actually become less transparent since saying that. Most of our news this year has instead come from insiders like Jeff Grubb and gameplay leaks.
By comparison last year by this time we had updates every month or two: - Jan 6 "State of BioWare" blog post - Feb 23 Dragon Age in Production blog post - April 13 1st Community Update - June 2 Dreadwolf title dropped and the accompanying blog post (which also outright said the game wouldn't release that year)
Now I do think they kind of overhyped last year (several of the blog posts talk about sharing more later that year), so maybe they wanted to avoid doing that again. But I think a pre-emptive blog post before this summer's events that gave us a status update while hinting they wouldn't be showing anything could have been nice. Maybe with a new image or something? Surely there is some small nugget they could throw to the fandom.
I'm hoping things pick up with more blogs/updates in the 2nd half of the year, although I don't think we would get a trailer before the Game Awards.

At first I thought that the DA Day in December was the last time we heard from the devs but there was a community update in February this year. But after that, there hasn't been a peep. I wonder what's up?

I wonder what's up? BioWare did also comment a little bit in the GamesBeat article in March when Mark Darrah rejoined as a consultant but they didn't say too much and didn't post anything on their blog about it. Possible the game hit some kind of hiccup or unfavorable playtests. We don't really know exactly why Mark rejoined but we do know that he had expected the game to release by the end of this year or early next year at the latest, and that obviously is not happening. I think that we will get a new blog post pretty soon. Of course not mainly for Dreadwolf but an official statement about SWTORs future and that Bioware Austin is no more. Yeah, they could use that as an opportunity to do a general BioWare studio update that talks about both games.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect the game til deep into 2024 at the earliest which means plenty of time to build hype, excitement, and reveal information. I was honestly surprised they talked as much Dragon Age as they did last year, they should know that doing that just builds people's expectations for an imminent release, which ultimately results in disappointment again when no release is imminent

Again you all should be lucky. Even now we don´t know as a fact who is the Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 developer and how much of the first version is in current one. But Dreadwolf we know the studio, its very basic mainstory Stop Solas / Dreadwolf and that it will be release some day in the near future.

I'm not paying that game any attention until more info comes out, it's not worth the time. Just because it carries the name doesn't mean anything of the game will be similar, like Torchlight 3 or Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. So I've chalked it up as a depressing cash grab release and will be pleasantly surprised if we get anything better.

So it made sense based on the info we had, and maybe BioWare also thought they would hit 2023 as well.

We've had 2 seconds of gameplay from a leak for instance. Is Jeff Grubb that reliable a leaker of information? I told people like ... 2 or 3 years ago that they're setting themselves up for disappointment with their release date expectations. Relaaaaaaax, it will be out when it's out

Even Mark Darrah thought it would release late 2023 and that we would get a trailer at the Game Awards last year. I don't really know that he had any special knowledge after leaving BioWare in early 2021 though. We can only really go off the insiders unless BioWare/EA want to give us a release window.

After all the crumbs we got these past years out of which the only substantive pieces of info we have at this point are the title and the alpha milestone, I think it's good they're keeping mum. Best thing they can do is break the silence only when they have, at the very least, a release window if not a pinned down release date, and actual gameplay footage.

While disappointing the radio silence isn't exactly unexpected given it seems to be all hands on deck. I imagine the marketing team must have a bit of spare capacity at present. I think they are keeping to their previous declared intention not to have such a long lead in time for hyping up the game as they did with DAI. They have probably realised that all those crumbs they gave out over the last few years have only raised expectations of an early release, which resulted in disappointment when those expectations were dashed. That said, I do think they were building to something at the end of last year, which seemed to indicated a late 2023 release, but they hit a major setback subsequent to announcing Alpha and that is why they have gone silent on us. This theory is reinforced by Mark Darrah rejoining them as a consultant. However, now we are approaching the second half of 2023, with still no substantial information, I don't feel that even Summer 2024 is likely and the suggestion people have made that they may release in Fall of 2024 to coincide with the anniversaries of DAO and DAI is the best we can hope for.

Only reason why I'm anticipating Dreadwolf at TGAs is there are no major game events in Feb, March, or April that work and waiting till next June for a game that could come out in July would be pushing it. Suffice to say though if its not coming out till fall/ winter then we won't get anything till next June at the earliest. This is the trend the industry is going in.

I honestly prefer that they keep silent, as painful as it is, than to talk about things that are ever changing - people will always pretend once released that the "game that never was" would have been better. So be silent, maybe drop out a few feelers (or "leaks") every now and then to check what it is people want/expect from a Bioware game in general and a Dragon Age game in particular, and then work on getting the game done.

I doubt they have completely rebooted because there's no way they would even hit late 2024 in that case, but wouldn't surprise me if they are trying to tweak a few things after the leaks.

I would love a late 2023 release date announcement, but at this point it'd be a surprise, and I'd even be a little concerned that they're only squeezing out a product to fit a time, rather than preparing it for the right time.
I will operate as if its an early 2024 release date because that makes my coping easier haha.
But I can brace for late 2024.
2025 sounds madness. a decade since the last DA game content (Trespasser) haha.
