It's a piss off that some of the staff currently working on the MMO are being laid off, which is a real kick in the face after all the effort they spent keeping the game running.

What worries me is the statement that the game will include some 'modernisation options' once the transfer is complete.

What does this mean?
Does it simply mean that the game will be moved over to cloud-based servers, be updated for 64bit protocols etc?

Or does it mean that there are plans to massively 'dumb down' the game in order to 'cater for the tastes of modern gamers', with many of it's systems being streamlined, simplified or removed entirely?

Hopefully the first option is the right one.

The economy has become better. Bioware banned a lot of credit sellers and the market is slowly healing. Stuff that costed 2 billion is now sold on the GTN for 500 million.

Well, I don't make the crazy gains I used to, but not like I have anything to spend my billions on anyway.

Haven't checked that one recently, but used to be 300 million or above.

We really only guess what the SWTOR revenue was used for and how it will be in the future.

I've never really played it because I came into MMOs only a few years ago and was always worried it was in maintenance mode and on the verge of closing. But it's always looked interesting to me and I did enjoy KOTOR. And I did remember the beginning of the game felt fun, but I always think what the endgame goal of this experience is and whether it's worth investing hundreds of hours into.

I agree with IA story last.

Following that theme, I'd suggest Jedi Knight first. This all assuming you plan to play all 8 class stories. [The 8 stories are semi-independent in that there are various crossover events and characters that are referenced in some of the stories. And thus semi-spoilers as well]

Are we done with the Mando/Malgus crap? I don't think I advanced the story on any of my characters past the Malgus fight in that FP where you scale a mountain. I'd rather do it all in one go till the end instead of getting it trickled down.

The GTN changes sound good. The overall price of everything has dropped down significantly so far in the past months. Sometimes 10x or higher. My fortune of credits gets more valuable each day 😁

Maybe I restarted playing this too soon. But then I'll probably switch to Imp totally bored of Pub side after restarting my characters 10 times.
