I've been wanting to make a thread about this for a while, and since there're so many (?) discussions about the matter in many other threads might as well have one centralized place to share opinions about this. My fear was that it would end up buried after a while, and people will come up elsewhere with the same questions, hence the thread would be pointless after a certain point in time. However, as we discussed with regack perhaps this thread can be pinned and "shared" with a redirect link across different subcategories on the forums since it technically involves different takings as in where in the forums the thread should be (off topic? general gaming? both?). This way we can have it alive whenever people need it.Anyways, to the point:*Here you will recommend (or don't) different peripherals you have experience with, you will ask for suggestions, opinions, you'll give yours, etc. *Which peripherals? > mouses, keyboards, headsets, webcams and speakers even. Anything related to gaming. *Brands and prices matter not. Anything and everything is welcome. *Formulated opinions based on your experience do matter. We are all trying to help each other out here.

There's some good information on headsets over in the Anthem area : bsn.boards.net/thread/16686/gaming-headsets-devices-anthem. I'll ask if we can merge things in, but for now, at least there's a link to things. Perhaps maybe it can be a collection of links as well, if you want to create a few top-level posts, they can be separated out into categories - keyboards, mice, controllers, speakers, headsets & mics, etc.

So, I'll start with a "I don't recommend" peripheral/s comment... and heck, brand even. This was a millennia ago, but anyways. Saitek/Mad Catz. The wannabe side Thrustmaster started making Fly sticks and that kind shit. Pretty cool looking stuff, went into the "others" peripherals like mouses and keyboards later on. I got a mouse, the RAT 7, which was their top tier shit back then (I think it still costs like 90 dollars) and also the top tier keyboard, Cyborg V7 (to complete the set, so to speak). As I've said, great looking stuff, they were one of the first companies to create this super weird ass looking mouses and anything really, that other companies "borrowed" the designs for their own stuff later on. As for reliability? let's put it this way. The mouse started to malfunction 1 and a half years after the purchase whereas the keyboard started to malfunction after 6 months. We are talking about really expensive peripherals, these used to be one of the most expensive shit on the market, yet left a lot to be desired. Mouse tracking sensor is ass, so sensitive than a single particle of dust (I'm not even joking on this) can mess up with the tracking causing the cursor to wiggle around the screen for no reason like if it was possessed by Satan himself. Double clicking, and the track sensor of the wheel has the tendency to stop working at all after some time. The construction of the body seems solid, but it's a facade for really horrendous and cheap hardware under it. You could go back then to Amazon actually and check 90% of the reviews back then mentioned everything of what I've said. Not sure if they ever decided to start making their stuff a bit less flimsy. The mouse is also pretty heavy because of the aluminum frame, and not very comfortable especially for the pinky, even though you can customize so much stuff with it, it's still feels off. It has a decent enough software for customizing buttons and stuff, although I've seen better. RAT 7So, now onto the keyboard. I've said that it started malfunctioning 6 months after purchase, basically a few keys just would't work or would work at times only. Not very useful. It was the first and only thing I ever RMA'd since the brand amazingly enough has/had an office in my country so I could actually send it for replacement. The guys there fixed it only to have the same issues on the same keys one week after. Not sure if it's normal Saitek behavior or it was just these guy's incompetence. Never used the keyboard again and the brand is blacklisted to me. As for coolness factor, it had lights and shit, a few colors to choose from and differentiation for WASD keys and the likes (you can see in the picture the different "sections" you can change). A no "Windows Key mode" for gaming that was interesting. It also had reinforced keys for WASD and arrow keys. That at least, felt solid. The keys in general were a bit small sized for my taste though. Cyborg V7
So, would I recommend any of these two things? Hell no, not a chance on hell. I wouldn't touch this brand with a 20 feet sarisa honestly. Overpriced garbage imho. Anyways, after the mouse fiasco I bought the Razer Deathadder for replacement. Bad idea too. About 1 month after the purchase the wheel got stuck somehow without me noticing it fast enough and broke when I tried to scroll. Since it has a 1mm thick plastic rod connecting to the sensor, what can be expected really. The mouse itself was fine for the most part, after a year it started to double click, I opened it and tried to fix it adding thin pieces of cardboard below the buttons, it worked for quite some years. Now it double clicks again, the mouse has about 4 years. So much for "gamer" stuff, these companies think gamer means "pay more money" and "RGB lights" it should mean construction quality and reliability, 2 things this mouse doesn't have. In terms of ergonomics, I'll give them credit, it's the most comfortable mouse I ever used and it's not heavy at all, which is exactly what you want on a mouse. I wouldn't touch anything made by Razer ever again honestly, seems like they don't care about building their shit properly. I'm not paying a premium for trash, just because it happens to have a "popular" brand labeled on.

I have a Ducky keyboard. Mechanical, Taiwanese made, with Cherry MX German switches. Mine is a simple white-backlit TKL, but if you have to have it, you can get RGB variants as well. It's been going strong for nearly 7 years, with a little wear on the keys (ABS), but nothing mechanically wrong at all. I'd recommend it, but they aren't inexpensive ($125?). If you can find them with PBT keys, you probably won't have that shine/wear that I have on mine. Anecdotal evidence, to be sure, but I've had a Razer Imperator mouse since 2012, and it's just now starting to have a bit of a doubleclick problem, and now and then it just... stops responding to input until I kind of whap it down on the desk. From what I've read, more anecdotal evidence, Razer quality has... declined over the years. When I look to replace it, I will have to dig in and see what else there is to offer.

I play with an Xbox 360 controller. My mouse is a cheap ass plastic piece of shit my uncle gave me. BUT it has worked for over five years! Funny thing is, my boyfriend can't seem to figure out its weird way of clicking on things. It's hilarious seeing him try to open any folder! You need to apply a specific double click speed or something... Until about two weeks ago, I used an ANCIENT keyboard that I bought 15-20 years ago!!! Grey and HUGE. I should have taken a picture... dropped it so many times that it ended up with a weird kind of keylock issue. Sooo I inherited an old no frills keyboard. I'm currently on my second second-hand headset. (Yes, I shamelessly freeload off my friends' old stuff.) First one was an SteelSeries Arctis 5. I liked it a lot. Then one ear cup went silent. Now I have a Kingston Hyper X which I was told makes my voice come off clearer but the other one was more comfy. Both are good enough but of course no comparison to my regular headphones. For co-op gaming both are fine. As you can see, I care greatly about my peripherals.

I really liked that april fools toaster from Razer back in the day. As for peripherals and non-recommendations, I had pretty bad luck with gaming mice, I have to admit. I used to have a Roccat Kone but didn't like it at all. The mouse wheel stopped working properly very soon after I bought it, the rubber on the sides was kinda sticky and always felt dirty (especially after you tried to clean it) and one side panel fell off eventually and had to be glued back. So just recently I got a Razer Basilisk. I do really like the mouse itself, it runs perfectly and is ergonomic, so that's good. You can even load a bunch of profiles for the buttons and macros onto the mouse itself. However, for some inexplicable reason, you cannot load the color profile you want onto the mouse. I hate too extensive coloring, so I prefer to have the color off or just in a very dark blue (as I have a blue backlit keyboard). You can totally set it up that way but the color profile will only kick in as long as the Razer Synapse software is running. As soon as that's off, the mouse goes back into rotating through all sorts of colors, which is really annoying. Even worse, when I turn my PC off, sometimes, the USB port will keep the mouse LEDs powered, even when the computer is shut down. Since my PC is in my bedroom and since I don't like nightlights (especially not color changing ones), whenever this happens, I now have to quickly unplug, then replug the mouse after shutting down the PC )I'd set up a power board with a switch to cut power from the whole rig instead but that doesn't really work well where the computer is set up). So yea, I can't really recomment any of those. Maybe go with Logitech or MS instead but no guarantees there either.

I just bought this keyboard a couple weeks ago. Corsair K70 with the Cherry MX Speed switches. It is great for typing and FPS games like Counter Strike:Global Offensive, but it could be a little too sensitive if you weren't used to it. Normally, I'm not too crazy about fancy keyboards but I've been using the media controls a lot for the music and podcast that I listen when I play games.

I'll be getting a new mouse next week maybe at some point, it depends on how slow they take to send it (don't mind the waiting, not looking forward to retrieve them from the post office, it's about 20 blocks away from my place). Already ordered it alongside a headset since the old one I have I can't use anymore because it's falling apart. We shall see how they work, just for fuck sake be good... Got a Steelseries Rival 110 and a Siberia P300 for headset. Spent a small fortune even though they are relatively cheap because everything here costs double, plus have to do conversion to local currency which gives you a hearth attack every time. I remember hearing Steelseries are good for mouses, like Senheiser are for audio/headsets (sad is one of the most expensive brands on the market, so it was a no-no).
The KB I'm using is a cheap-budget one I bought like 7 years ago. The A and C keys faded out, but the KB still works like brand new. I don't care for changing it honestly, plus it is actually a spanish KB unlike most of the "gamer" garbage they sell normally, so it's a plus.

GOML! Well it's a little loud, just one light-color (no biggie, based on brown keys) and I often use its G buttons for Microsoft Office and Windows uses instead of video games (too lazy to setup them for games)

I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to headphones and I much prefer normal corded headphones with a corded mic attachment over any headsets. Right now I'm still using my old Audeze LCD-2 as my everyday headphones, but they are a bit too heavy so I'm about to replace them with a pair of Focal Utopia. The Utopia is pretty much one of the best headphones that you can buy right now without getting into electrostatic headphones. They are kind of overkill for gaming but I've been spoiled by those high-end headphones so much that even the $1500 Sennheiser HD800S sound pretty mediocre to me. I can't wait to get these for my birthday.

T.16000M. Cheap. Accessible. Fucking awesome.
If you wanna do flight sims and don't have the dough to shell out for the likes of the Warthog, look no further and grab yourself a T.16000M.
Can personally speak for the stick which is damn precise (should be same tech as the Hog, actually) and will work perfectly fine with warbirds and jets alike. If you watched a bit, you know I fly the F/A-18C in DCS with it. The throttle gets solid reviews from many of the more knowledgeable people, and it doesn't surprise me. Difference from standart is that the throttle is a slide instead of a lever (which is more realistic for the Hornet, not so much for the Mustang, to name the examples I'm familiar with).
So, yeah. Don't read my chaotic "review" and just go grab the stick if you feel like flight simming. Unfortunately, if you prefer arcades, last I heard the chances of it working in Ace Combat 7 are pretty slim.

Good thread OP I had been a Razer fella for a while. Then, they started the Synapse always on-line thing, and I was annoyed. Then they needed me to be logged in to update my driver. Fuck that. Ahem Nvidia... You might be next! So, I uninstalled Synapse, and my Razer peripherals sit in a bin. If anyone needs a used Deathadder, I have a couple. I went Logi/Steelseries this round. Very pleased. G703 mouse is really good, and wireless without any discernible input lag is a winner. Same with my Arctis 7 headset from SS; no lag, no wires, great sound. Not amazing for music but passable. Keyboard is G513 Carbon. Nice build, feels good, wrist pad was a nice thing to include. Downside: Two softwares for peripherals, not ideal. Upside: no Razer software BS. Only wire on desk now is keyboard USB. It is so choice.

I love Focal, I use the closed Spirit Pro for gaming and on the train. I have one of the cheaper STAX sets for music but they are way too open for my noise PC fans. I did a brief sampling of the Utopia and, oh yes, it sounds great. But the price is ridiculous. And they didn't really sound better than the STAX I have for way less money. So absolutely not worth it just as a protable alternative.
But I am a bit jealous of somebody who can just spend 5 grand on a headphone.
PS: I HATE Sennheiser. Or rather how they do bass. Sounds so ugly to my ears. Even the revered HD800 is kind of meh.

Wow, you have a STAX? I'm jealous too. One of my friends actually bought a Sennheiser HD800S, a Focal Clear, and then a Focal Utopia, so I was lucky enough to have to opportunity to audition those. That's kind of how I figured out that the Utopia were the right headphones for me. The HD800S just sounded too analytical and transparent to me. Maybe it's because I'm used to the warmth of my LCD-2 or maybe it's because of my Burson Soloist amp, but the Utopia worked perfectly with my current setup. I definitely won't pay $4000 or $5000 for them. I'll wait for a good deal and try to buy one from an authorized seller for $3000-ish. By the way, my "fun" headphones is a pair for Fostex TH900. They are very V-shaped, so they are only good for a certain type of music with strong bass and female vocals (like EDM) and nothing else. I don't think I'll ever get rid of them because they are just a big guilty pleasure for me. Every time I put them on, they just blow my mind.

So yesterday I got the new stuff, not actually reviewing anything since I believe when it comes to peripherals the only worthy reviews are the ones from people who actually used them for more than 10 hours (which never happens on youtube videos or dedicated so called "reviewers"). This is more of a "out of the box first impressions". So the mouse is the Rival 110 from Steelseries, in comparison to the trashy Deathadder this one is smaller which concerned me a little bit because the Deathadder was so comfortable as it was, and I consider myself to have average sized hands at best, so finding smaller mouses feels weird. But, I'm pretty much used to its size already. It's pretty light too, which is good. The Cord is made of some sort of soft rubber which concerns me a little bit, but okay. It has some sort of fancy sensor that honestly I don't care about, so long as it's not a shit sensor like the RAT's I'm good. Software is good also, and you can change the led colors if you're into that, personally don't care. Another thing is the grips on the side, they are part of the mouse body, unlike the Deathadder's (which I forgot to mention in my previous post), the Deathadder has rubber grips glued into the body (yes, glued) and they fall apart after a while just by the heat your hand transfers to them. Absolute garbage. Anyways, So far so good. The headset is the Siberia P300 from the same brand. Compared to the other cheap headset I had, this one is way more comfortable and light, although after some hours I still get this weird feeling on the top of my head, like it hurts just having it on after a while. It might just be me, the headset itself as I've said is very comfy. Honestly I don't know how streamers can hold with a headsets for 6 hours straight without the need to take them off for at least one hour. The "leather" material on the earcups concerns me deeply. It's fine, but I have the impression that it eventually will fall apart like my other headset did. Let's hope not though. The cord is pretty short and made of the same soft rubber material, however it has an extension/spliter of sorts for people who want the mic/audio in two separate cables. So that works for me since my PC case is on the right side of the desk, and I like having the thing connected on the back, thus I need more cord length. As for sound, it sounds super good IMO, but you need to understand that I only ever had one headset before this one and I also thought the audio was decent in that one. This one is way better thought, I've read in user reviews that it has the same sound quality as other 80-100 dollars headsets, so that's a good bang for the buck. The mic sound quality, I have no idea as I haven't use it yet.

ive had hte k70 lux rgb with the red switches for about 3 years and I love it for most things although I did have to buy a bag of o-rings to make it slightly less noisey (its still noisy mind you) and I was given the dark core mouse for xmass to replace the g502 since it died and to be honest its a much better mouse in terms of fit and feel for my hand
as far as headsets go I get whatever $10>$20 headset looks ok on reviews when I need a new one (which I do frequently since i'm always busting the cords) the sades give decent audio and ive had 3 of them in the last 18 months, not sure about the mic quality since I almost never use them, when i'm on my own in the house I use a pair of creative t10 speakers again the sound isnt bad and there cheap.
I got annoyed with the Logitech gear since it no longer "just worked" and constantly wanted to install crapple software or needed a phone to give you info that the older generation had a built in screen to provide, or in the case of the mice they changed the size and location of the buttons without checking if it was still useable (and I loved the original g15 its replacement the g19s and the mx518)
I tried one of those wireless headsets but my phone interferes with it and suddenly getting a loud noise injected into the speakers every time my phone was about to make a noise was too much so they went back to the store, nice idea but not compatible with everyday life /

Product: Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse, Tournament Edition
I have a small to medium hand (male glove size 9), my hand tends to use a claw grip and I find this mouse a comfortable fit. After buying this mouse I find my hand, fingers and wrist suffer less strain and fatigue. The mouse is light, quick, accurate and responsive Of course comfort and ease of use is all dependent on hand size and grip style but I find this fit's my hand and grip very well (small/medium male hand, claw grip). Definitely worth the money (although I did purchase it at a much cheaper price) and I really have no complaints. Best used for FPS games.

I use a box standard MS wired desktop 600 keyboard and mouse along with a 360 controller. Nothing fancy and works fine. Also don't cost an arm and a leg.

Just bought a thin and light gaming laptop for my travels. It is the Gigabyte Aero 15 X9 for $2300 and it is the first gaming laptop I've ever bought with my money. These are the specs: 15.6 144hz IPS Display Core i9 8950HK 32GB DDR4 2666mhz RAM 8GB GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q 1TB Intel 760p NVMe SSD Killer Wireless-AC 1550 (Intel) USB Type-C/Thunderbolt 3 I know it is waaay too expensive for the specs, but there aren't that many thin and light gaming laptops to choose from. Razer's Blade 15 and MSI's GS65 Stealth with similar specs are all more expensive. The good thing about the Aero 15 is that it looks like a normal business laptop without all the ugly "gaming" RGB chassis lights. Only its keyboard has RGB LEDs, so I can carry it and use it like a normal laptop. With its 94 watt-hour battery, I can get at least 6 hours of battery life under normal usage or 2 hours when gaming.

Since my nVidia RTX2080 was being partially wasted on a normal monitor, I went out and bought a gaming monitor yesterday. Dell 27 Gaming MonitorAfter some twerking with the settings for color and what not, it looks good. Reminds me of my 4K tv on how colors stick out and look vibrant.
