Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is an "action melee game" with a lightsaber and force powers.

Protagonist is Kal, who is living incognito in the midrim working as a scrapper. Kal is voiced by Cameron Monaghan (Jerome Valeska, Gotham). Working through his concept took around a year.

Looks like a lot of the leaks were spot on. The antagonist is from Palpatine's Inquisitorius, and apparently appeared in Darth Vader #19.

It's already been confirmed canon, but #StarWarsJediFallenOrder is snug between Episode 3 and Star Wars: Rebels.

The trailer looked cool, but we'll see once the game is out....

Interesting how respawn has now done 2 recent games without using Frostbite. Why didn't Bioware drop it then if EA is apparently not forcing it on these guys?

You’re assuming that EA gave both Respawn and Bioware the same freedom in deciding on this department.
Jason Scheirer talked about this in a tween yesterday or the day before, talking on how starting anew with UE4 for DA4 would’ve meant losing even more time. The way he wrote it, it might mean that in 2017 EA might’ve changed its stance on Frostbite, but it was too late for Anthem and DA4.

Also, Respawn wasn’t part of EA until 2017, and both Apex Legends and Fallen Order might’ve been in development before that year, so EA couldn’t have had power to decide on the engine to use.

TBH the trailer was pretty meh.

With that level of unimpressive, I don't think I'll even mind now getting this.

I won't pre order, but if it turns out to be decent, I think I'll buy to support a single player game from EA.

Likely Day 2 purchase if it's good.

I am a big Respawn fan.

Titanfall 1 was a very good and fun game, full of great ideas that where at times disconnected but managed to provide an enjoyable experience. Titanfall 2 was a marvelous game, executing the first game's ideas perfectly and adding much more to the mix (and one of my favorite games ever, I must add). Apex Legends, well, it is universally considered the best game of its genre (and the way it got released, with zero marketing whatsoever, that is a landmark for the gaming industry). Respawn is a gaming developer that I can trust, they use their precious resources where it matters and release very high quality products.

And somehow they either convinced EA or got EA's trust to develop and release a proper, traditional, singleplayer story-heavy game, without any of the modern microtransations/lootbox/Gaas bullshit.

The trailer we saw today, well, there isn't much there for us to evaluate. I think we will need to wait for the E3 for some gameplay. But one thing caught my attention though: Unreal Engine.

I am eager to see more, but for now I would bet this game might have what it needs to be successful. Will I pre-order it? Nope. Will I buy it? Perhaps, at some point, I want to see the reviews first. I am by no means what one could call 'a Star Wars fan', so I am not eager to play it right away. Nevertheless, I hope for it to be a good game, and I trust Respawn will deliver it.

Yep, BioWare had Jade Empire flop or at least being very close to a flop so they were hurting. They also decided with Pandemic to join forces and leveraged their companies to a venture capitalist firm that EA bought both companies from.

I was corrected on Reddit by a former BioWare employee and this is what they said to me.


There was also the article from one of the Doctors about a year after they retired and they also said they don't think BioWare would have survived the financial crash of that era.

People see what they want to be the truth and will always say that BioWare "sold out" and frankly they were bought out because they weren't selling enough copies of the games that people want them to make.
