Nooooooo! ... cried the grill or a 10 year old into his mic after getting sync killed during the wave 3 escort objective on goddess. Now I was alone, and had to finish the escort on my own vs. da rippaz. After several rounds to get the crowd away from the drone the host left shortly before I finished. That serves me right, because I dared to ready up with a fishy looking host who rocked a destroyer with weak consumables. Now I had to do it all over again. Good part was that a competent pug joined shortly after, and with andy_3_913 entering the game we finished the match as a trio. Good one after all!

A PUG called me a selfish prick for cheesing the hack and sealing of one direction the enemies can come from, so the team could focus fire one way. The hack was done much faster and with no revival chains, but apparently I suck for doing that. Lesson learned You know what we really need is a medal for eye-rolling.

"Boomsticks"as in everyone but me had one
Claymore AIU, Claymore Cabal Vanguard, GPS SI, and me with my Tempest/Scorpion FQE
the cabal despite hosting clearly had some issues with Poison Strike and basically stopped using it around wave 6
50 SMG kills and 3 killstealing accusations later I had top score
the AIU got magnet grabbed on extraction

"Boomsticks"as in everyone but me had one Claymore AIU, Claymore Cabal Vanguard, GPS SI, and me with my Tempest/Scorpion FQE Spoilsport! Claymore FQE is a thing of great beauty, arguably one of the sweetest pairings in the whole game. That said, in a game with two Infiltrators and a Vanguard there would have been the potential for a lot of direct attention, so the Scorpion is an objectively more sensible choice. (edit: and Tempest, obviously)

BACKUP
So I have this surge protector with battery backup that is supposed to prevent my computer from unexpected shutdown in the event of a power outage. The thing's a piece of shit and cuts power all by itself even when there is no outage.
Wave 6 Hack on Glacier and the Juggernaut kept putting up his EXTRA BIGASS HEX SHIELD (brought to you by Carl's Jr) in front of us so we couldn't shoot anything. Every time he did, I missiled it and went back to shooting. Right when I used my last missile, the power cut out, making it look like an Alt+F4 ragequit, so I guess I can't be too upset, at least the timing was perfect.

GG
My Huntress dropped into wave 3 of a White/Reapers/Gold GIP with one skull on the screen. I had a bad feeling. Fortunately, things picked up after that, the other two players were also both infiltrators (the wave 3 skull was a Banshee-bait Reegar AIU, the other player was another Huntress) so the aggro dump was fairly evenly spread. My Huntress synergized pretty well with the other one, I detonated as many of their Dark Channels as my own.
It was a fairly normal match really, I mention it purely because the other Huntress player sent me a "GG" message afterwards.

Passable
Found out that a Human Engineer + Falcon combo works just fine on Platinum. I mean, I knew it would work, just didn't think I could do it.

Laugh-riot
Wound up in the lobby of a reasonably experienced player with no mic (UUG). We loaded into Hazard Reactor/Reapers and two new players joined us for the ride, or vice versa. As players the new guys weren't remarkably good or bad, but once one of them made a comment over their mic they just kept going all game long.
Q: What can survive damage over time in Gold? A: Geth or Vorcha characters. Additionally, there are two Vorcha, one with a flamer -- a soldier, maybe -- which is really good against shields and barriers, but they both have bloodlust, which lets you regenerate damage. The other has a net, which is good, too.
Then they started talking about the single player campaign and story. I learned that you need to have the Leviathan DLC to get the synthesis ending! Good to know.
One was apparently offended that I was using gel... so I happily obliged and patiently awaited revival the next time.
At extraction I ran to nuke the alcove to force off the nearest spawn and give the Jug some breathing room. When they thought I wasn't going to make it back they started cheering me on to get back, at which point I stopped running (I had plenty of time) and just walked into the LZ. Cue my favourite comment of the night: "Now we know why the Batarians lost their homeworld" (comment dripping with sarcasm; I was playing a BatSol). Just before we froze I went for a falcon punch to signal my enjoyment of the match, to which I received a hurried "I take it all back!"
What would have been a "meh" game got clearly elevated. Thank you.

Gold/Rappers/Jade
With a Turian sentinel/Lancer did a pretty good job, i swear there was a BSNer in the game (can't remember the name), anyway, Those rappers were throwing some nasty 50 cents rhymes till i arrive with my super Warp and shooting combo and dished them out a kick in the arse.

Educational
Dropped GiP into Giant/Geth/Gold, and I had unlimited ammo. Well Wave 3 started and it was pizza, so I picked one up and asked who was the host around here. As I stood around waiting for any type of response, it didn't take me long to find out that I was also invincible.
Well that pizza got cold.
Back in the lobby, the host readied up again, and I asked him why even bother playing if we are god mode. What's the point. Everyone else readied up, and the timer started counting down. So I went into the store to stop the timer (LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL)
After about 5 minutes, the host finally started talking to me. He wanted to know how can he type. I told him he can't. He asked how I am typing? I told him I can. Well after about 5 minutes the host left, and we started with 3 of us after the migration.
Waves 1 and 2 they were constant revive pile, but I did my best to curry them. One of them gave up, turned out he was the host, and we migrated again. Now it was just two of us.
I held the line until Wave 5, when the pug who dropped came back. I said welcome back lol. They both seemed set on camping the Giant LZ, so I went across to the little corner room with the ladder in the back and set up my own campsite there. I put a Proxy Mine at the top of the ladder to alert me if anything was coming up behind me. That made me feel smart. Everything in front of me got slaughtered. My score was absurd. I told them God Mode was overrated.
We made it all the way through, they even helped nuke Targets on Wave 10, and followed me to the upper office for Wave 11. Sadly, they didn't make it out the back when I gave the signal to go, I nuked everything in my path but they just didn't follow.
Back in the lobby, I said you'll never get that good playing god mode, and wasn't that a lot more fun anyway? Then I realized that I was the host after that second migration, and informed them oh sorry one of you guys should host now because when I host there are 10 enemies at a time.
No wonder they were having so much trouble.

Ok, Thunderdome/Reapers/Gold. I was host. One really good pug, three terrible ones (I was not in the first group). We were so miserably bad that the good pug bailed out on wave 7 and *I* had to carry the rest of the wave at considerable expense. We wiped during the next one.
This was one of those matches that was so fucking bad that I felt like I had not just forgotten everything I had learned since July 2014, I felt like I must have huffed paint fumes and banged my head into an anvil or two before playing. Just a giant steaming fucking turd of a match, so fucking horrible that I am going to have to resort to the highly specialized weapons-grade Italian profanity stronzissimo ("it's the shittiest"*) to adequately describe it.
I wanted to have 9999 missiles, ragenuke everything and Banshees twice (then nuke their whining corpses to be sure), then blow up Firebase Glacier like cannon-mode Galvatron blew up planets in the third season of the original Transformers cartoon.
It was so bad it made me have Drell-like flashbacks to playing Mario Golf on the N64 and breaking controller after controller by hurling them across the room while trying to unlock Mario by beating him (spoiler: he cheats).
Also, I was using the Salarian Infiltrator. SMR, my InfiltratorMasterRacetm home starter kit is in the mail back to you. I am going to shoot things in the feet point blank with the Revenant on Bronze for the next 6.02x1023 matches.

Important Update: Hahaha! Well, the word "stronzo" is usually used to describe someone, not something. Or at least, there has to be an intention. I mean, every italian would understand what you mean, but I think in that situation we would rather use the word "merda", which is italian slang for shit, pretty much I commend you on your effort tho! I laughed my ass off, haha!

A PUG called me a selfish prick for cheesing the hack and sealing of one direction the enemies can come from, so the team could focus fire one way. The hack was done much faster and with no revival chains, but apparently I suck for doing that. Lesson learned I actually appreciate it when I see PUGs holding a spawn point to funnel enemies one way during hacks/extraction. I'll do it myself if I determine that either (A) My DPS is lower, so holding a spare point can assist on certain maps or ( I'm already ahead in score by a fair margin and don't mind letting the rest of the team have at it, if I think they'll survive. It's only a problem if you're blocking a spawn and the rest of the team can't deal out the punishment necessary to hold the hack for the now slightly longer time period. One technique I regularly use is to hold the back hallway on Firebase White during extraction, where one of the escorts ends. If I stay in that position, enemies are forced to spawn on the opposite side of the map from the LZ. The PUGs are then able to focus fire and it's pretty easy to hold this formation right until extraction.

Yeah, I get you, but I cheesed the hack, meaning I was still uploading, just outside the hack circle. I usually don't do that, but sometimes it's useful. Like when you get a Giant center hack - enemies come from both directions. But if I cheese it and camp the ramp or near the LZ, they will come from only 1 direction and get mowed down much more easily

I learned that you need to have the Leviathan DLC to get the synthesis ending! That's false, it depends purely on your EMS rating. Personally I'd do an internet search before believing anything a pug says about how the game works, only because a lot of this stuff isn't spelled out anywhere in the game, and I've seen so many pugs be wrong about game mechanics.

This is like every shot CPU Mario makes when you're playing against him.

STG
Dropped into a lobby with 3 Salarian Infiltrators, so of course I switched back to mine as well. We ended up in Rio/Cerberus, and it was nonstop headsplatter. I literally do not think any heads were left intact. Weapons selection was pretty varied, including a Javelin, a Black Widow, a Mantis, and an Indra. Microphone banter was pretty entertaining as well. I even pulled out my Scorpion to explode Phantoms during objective waves. Everyone had a good time.
