Phyre have the equivalent of 1 dot in Aupex for heightened senses (the scan ability shown in the gameplay demo) regardless of clan, people on Reddit were wondering what that meant for Tremere since Aupex is one of their disciplines. I think they will stick close to VTM5 clan/disciplines thought, and outside a few gameplay helpers everyone will have. I doubt Phyre has many outside of the the clan abilities, but we know of 3: the previously mentioned heightened senses, along with telekinesis and gliding. I don't if it's just for gameplay or it's apart of the lore, but the Ventrue Elder protagonist Galeb in Swansong had 4 disciplines and he was 4-500 years old or a bit more. So it is reasonable for an Elder like Phyre to know a discipline outside of their clan.

I don't remember a single elder in any of the old stat blocks who didn't have a bunch of dots in out-of-clan Disciplines. Almost everyone had some level of Celerity, Auspex and Dominate, and virtually all the warrior/fighter/military-themed ones had Potence. Those were only exclusive in the sense of some clans' blood accessing them more easily than others. But even the actually exclusive ones like Protean and the various sorceries could be taught to any kindred if they found a teacher. You could even start with the basic level of an out-of-clan Discipline when making a fledgling in the PnP.

Talking about sunlight is there going to be a day/night cycle? What I liked and disliked in the first game was that there was no day/night cycle. I liked it because I did not have to worry about the sun. I disliked it because I could not tell the passage of time so to me it felt like one long night. No point in a day cycle. Phyre won't be able to do shit during it.
Vampires tend to immediately get sleepy when day dawns. And even with protection they can't really withstand the sunlight. Only the most powerful with points in Fortitude (If I recall) can stay outside during the day and they are essentially tanking the sunlight damage the whole time. And there are constant willpower checks to stay awake.
Not to mention that the sunlight has a very high chance of triggering Rotschreck - similar to how the Beast took over in the previous games, but this time the vampire tries to run away at all costs.

I know vampires could learn other disciplines but I thought they could only have 3. Of course in Swansong one of the playable characters is Galeb a Ventrue Elder and he has an extra discipline he learned from the Gangrel. But I thought that was just a gameplay mechanic.

I have no problem if there is no day/night cycle. I am used to Bethesda games where we can sleep/wait through both the day and night. The only reason I'd have like it is to see the passage of time, and yes I know Phyre would burn up like Dr. Grout's sire in VTMB 1. But what they could do is when back at our haven a message could pop up saying "the light of day approaches you will sleep until nightfall." The screen can then fade to black and it ill be instantly night and Phyre would be awake. This just for passage of time reasons. It VTMB 1 it felt like one long night, but apparently days have passed.

I know vampires could learn other disciplines but I thought they could only have 3. Of course in Swansong one of the playable characters is Galeb a Ventrue Elder and he has an extra discipline he learned from the Gangrel. But I thought that was just a gameplay mechanic. The older the vampires get, the longer their stat sheet becomes. The factor is not so much clan or Generation, but time.
Certain clans get easier access to certain abilities, but just about any vampire can learn any Discipline if they put the time in it. The Clan and Generation are more of an indicator for the potential of the kindred and which skills the vampire learns with more ease.
A fresh 8th Generation will have more potential than a 12th Generation, but if the 12th Generation has a few hundred years learning advantage, the 8th Gen will be toast in a fight. That's why the older Generations are so much more powerful. They essentially had thousands of years of a headstart on top of their better blood potential. There is a gap between certain Generations (I think between 3rd and 4th) that is at least 5 000 years. So while they are close in Generation number, the power gap between them is just immense due to the time the 3rd Gen had to learn stuff. And the 3rd Gen are considered essentially gods of the setting.

Real shame as I was so excited heard about bloodlines2 but that feels like simething horrible trying to leech off the name of a cult classic.

Glad to see confirmation we get all the clan disciplines rather than the 2 that the previous version was doing. Hopefully it will also have non combat uses.

Hopefully it will also have non combat uses. I hoping this as well. I really would like to see the other ways to approach quests if there are any like talking my way out of situations. I assume there will be because I think the Ventrue will be a playable clan, and the Ventrue are basically executives who are prone to use passionate vamps like the Brujah for their purposes.

Well i am be completely honest i hate this. I have a very slim hope that there is a hidden character sheet but i guess its foolish to have such a hope. Maybe this game is the greatest game ever but i really don´t care. Rename this game. This isn´t Bloodlines anymore. forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/developer-diary/clan-highlight-brujah.1626501/Edit: Perhabs the character section could be the character sheet but they also could rename the previous outfits point of the menu which is nowhere to be found.

Doesn´t look good at the postergirl Elif Parmak has a big role in the game or maybe even longer exist. But i guess she looks to sexy to be Tremere.
Edit: The V5 changes for Tremere doesn´t seem to have an effect in this game. Their description sounds like typical Tremere. I am not sure what to think about this.

Now we're talking. I read the blog and it does sound interesting. From what I read stealth does seem like a viable option as oppose to going in like the Terminator. It also made me realize I've been playing Tremere wrong in the original game. I like what I read but I won't get too hyped. Aside from Baldur's Gate 3 a lot of games that start with a lot of ambition usually never deliver due to cutting content because of greedy publishers, like what happened to the original Bloodlines and Knights of the Old Republic II. Thank you azarhal for the update!

Really no creator editor in a 2024 / 2025 game? Not even changing the hair?!? Cheaper to do, less development work, less hair clipping, less visual glitches when talking, emoting and lip syncing.

Cheaper to do, less development work, less hair clipping, less visual glitches when talking, emoting and lip syncing. Why make them a RPG? Or why not the Witcher Route (Wait you can change atleast the hair in a free DLC. I highly doubt that this kind of DLC would be free for BL2)? You can use the same arguments here.
This just sucks if you are not a fan of female Phyre (i don´t like the hairsyle its even worse for such a old vampire) looks. Also even the Hardsuit Labs build had one. Its just crazy for me that a RPG in 2024 / 2025 has no creator editor. Something which some players are even very passionate about.

Yeaaaah. Let's hope the male Phyre voice actor is worth his salt, and he looks vaguely historical. These days it's usually a toss-up between a guy and a gal the first time through an RPG for me. But no way am I playing any game as a 500-yearold lesbian haircut. Dialogue wheel and settled character appearance are red flags for any RPG, but it's not like we haven't seen it work wonderfully before. Usually because there was something fairly compelling about the character, mind you, and I'm not sure what that could be in Phyre yet. I like what I read but I won't get too hyped. Aside from Baldur's Gate 3 a lot of games that start with a lot of ambition usually never deliver due to cutting content because of greedy publishers, like what happened to the original Bloodlines and Knights of the Old Republic II. In principle you're completely right. But I'll be one happy camper if the game merely "fails to deliver" like Bloodlines, Kotor 2 or the first two Fable games. Warts and all.

Phyre male voice actor aside i think / fear that there isn´t to much difference between female and male Phyre. Also it would cut costs if most outfits looks the same on male Phyre. Well even if Phyre is the most interesting character ever in gaming there is one problem. Phyre can´t stand on his / her own because of the stupid design choice of having the a voice of a thinblood aka Fabien in his / her head.

Never played Fable 2 and 3 although I did enjoy the first game. The first Fable was also another game that started with a lot of ambition and failed to deliver due to time constraints. I mean Peter Molyneaux promised us the world with the first Fable. Also I love the first Bloodlines and KOTOR 2. Two of my top rpg's of all time.

I expect people complaining about it. You are 100% right. I complain about this and the truth i just want to give up and won´t have to waste my time and energy in something which is clearly not for me as a huge Bloodlines 1 fan. I really believe that its for best of us all if this game gets another name than Bloodlines 2.
But yeah i really no fan that the playercharacter can be a jack of all trades. Why even play as Tremere if all has access to all combat powers (there are the dialog skills?) Sure for the passive and some acknowledgement in a few dialogues. Great.

Dev Diary #11: Developing Banu Haqim
I really want to say something nice because on paper its kinda neat to play a Banu Haqim which isn´t possible in Bloodines 1. But what´s the point if all clans can learn almost everything and use every outfit? But wait i really have something nice to say. I really like the outfit on right. Maybe just for the main reason that we very little of Phyres hair and therefore fits a way to such an old vampire like Phyre is supposed to be.
