Anyone know of the best place to go to make suggestions, there are a few QoL improvements I'd think would make the game a lot better. Most likely official forums. just stay out of gen disc because it is littered with trolls. Oh, sofa is there with a voice of reason as well. But you know fighting windmills is pointless. ironically what I wanted I think has been in the game the entire time.

I wasn't expecting to reach max level already with only doing one main mission.

Curious how Breakpoint is another huge and detailed world, with an enjoyable gameplay arc. Yet the game media narrative is that because Ubi didn't make a tactical shooter (and included missable MTX's) that the game they did make is trash. I find the logical disconnect staggering as well as more than enough people on the internet willing to be upset with you if you don't agree with how shit it is. People...

Yeah, I don't see how it isn't tactical. I find it both tactical and strategic. Sure it is different than previous games.

Honestly I am not a huge fan of Open World yet...but A. Ubisoft has gotten the open world formulae down...and B. Honestly I think Open World goes with the 'tactical shooter' genre like bread and butter and to think if anything its hardware limitations that is probably holding it back from being the tactical shooter it could be. Sure the previous games might've had more coherent story (don't know haven't played them) but in an Open World I can snipe people from 5-700 meters. Five times a foot ball field, half a kilometer, I can just sit there and take out anything I can see before moving in for the kill. Plus with it being Open World that means there is so many different ways to tackle these bases and scenarios depending on who you are, what your loadout is, and what you do. And Breakpoint has taken all of that from Wildlands and expanded on it. I read one review where they were like 'they added nothing to Wildlands and only added things from other Ubisoft franchises that weren't needed'...say what now?

And playing with minimal, if any, HUD, no guidance and cranked up difficulty. Then you have to be really tactical, strategic and the open world really comes alive.

SofaJockeyProbably a long shot but if I could bother you for a favor? Since you have an account on the Ubisoft forums and I do not I did really want to suggest one quality of life improvement that could make the game interesting. Granted they'll probably never go for it and I have no idea the technical limitations involved...but its been bugging me. So not only would I like them, at the bare minimum, to include the proper calibres of the weapons involved...instead of their weird inaccurate calbres...but it might be an even better idea to have weapons that are chambered for different rounds to be able to switch between them. Which could then be used to switch between them to customize your weaponsand come with certain pros and cons.

www.pcgamer.com/amp/ubisoft-ceo-admits-they-blew-it-with-breakpoint/Well that's...something. Now keep in mind this is the same wbesite that gave Breakpoint a 40... But this is just a little...weird? Obviously any game needs more development time to get through with and it is a little dismaying to hear that they released it with 'known technical issues', that's certainly a black eye. But the rest just seems a little...weird. I mean yes, obviously proper development time for games is important but why would live games need more time between 'sequels' then any other format? I honestly thought one of the strengths of LS games was that we wouldn't have to wait as long between one game and the sequel, it is also just...non plussing to me...I was eager and surprised for a sequel to Wildlands...36 months is more then enough time. Plus then there was that aside about play time per player...if that's a metric you guys are using to determine the sucess of your LS games then, to quote a certain Mon Calamari Admiral "Its a Trap!"I know a lot of peopleand teenagers have that much time and interest to play games that much for every night...but I sure don't. I'll marathon it over the weekends but Ubi shouldn't take my play time as a lack of interest. Lol. This post turned out way longer then I was anticipating and its annoying, though honest of them that they are learning from this...not sure I like all the lessons but still maybe it will lead to better LS games in the future. Despite its technical issues, I'm still having fun.

I'm sure there is someone who could post the original blog article from Ubi too but a lot more interesting news on the Breakpoint stuff. Though it is sad that even the Youtubers that are (apparently) enjoying the game are even commenting on the backlash and it seems to be maybe getting them down a bit.
But anyways first things first, the kind of optional aspects they are bringing to the game. Great. I think more ways to customize your game is always appreciated and am really looking forward to it. Them especially talking about looking at ways of removing the tiered loot would be...also...greatly appreciated. I mean like most inventory systems I can put up with it but it is annoying and every once in a while it really reminds me it is *there*. Changing the ingame economy though...sounds a lot more vague and especially problematic.
The survival aspects. I think BP has hit it out of the part, by and large, with what they have done so far...but I do know people that do actually like survival games so again it will be curious how that is implemented properly.
And finally...AI teamates. One of the reasons I went ahead with buying BP in the first place was even though I like 'team' games the 'squd' in Wildlands was largely...cardboard cutout filler. Which is why I was so surprised when I found out they actually did cast brand new Voice Actresses for the female squad after the game...I mean just...wow. But there was no way to really distinguish between them, they were hardly their own characters, they were just 'there', place holders for the people who did not want to do MP and just synch shot drones...which since they had those in BP it wasn't a huge deal that they didn't have them...though personally I hope they actually make the squad more fleshed out and distinguishable next this time and I hope this is one reason they are taking their time with it.
So yeah, LS games, a blessing...and a curse.

www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2019/10/01/ghost-recon-breakpoint-has-a-hilarious-amount-of-microtransactions/#36320e563940I wonder about that. Link includes a lot of pictures. Misinformation or an attempt to excuse microtransactions yet again. It happened with AC: Odyssey "BUT IT IS NOT GRINDEY!" true, maybe not after you bought it since the developers ended up changing the entire XP gain curve due to lots of initial complaints. Ubisoft seems to follow the same path that EA did with Battlefront 2, just a shame that Ubisoft is not dealing with a franchise as big as Star Wars, they might have actually been slammed far more than now, it could be humbling for Ubisoft... that might have been good. Also, at the end of the day, cosmetic only microtransactions are ALSO a problem as it will eventually boil down to the biggest problem with microtransactions... it is too much growth too quickly. It will always only get worse, the demand for increased growth next year will also only increase, jobs will be lost to save money, developement time will be shortened to save money, the games will be further developed with a focus on increasing market-place spending rather than being entertaining, the microtransactions will become increasingly egregious due to having to force more players to spend money at the market-place. Microtransactions are never good. I had to stop reading when I got to 'sure you can grind for this stuff in game's. That's the entire point. To play the game. If you don't want to play the game you can spend your hard earned money. But its entirely optional. Goodness only in MTXs do gamers whine about having more options. Also from where I sit this, so far, seems to be less intrusive then either Oddyseys or Wildlands. As for them never being a good thing... I've never met an MTX I haven't liked (or at least tolerated) and they are getting better and less intrusive all the time. “Do this hour long mission for 50 XP.” That’s the equivalent of being expected to work five hours for $10.

Hell in this example we're equating XP to money so it also depends on the value of a single experience point. For instance 50 XP when it takes a million to level up is not that valuable, but if it only takes a hundred... Bottom line on this note, I've already maxed my character. Actually I'm a bit annoyed on how easy it was.

The low XP payouts for time consuming missions needed to level up just turns us off from doing the grinding, period. I could complete five playthroughs of Mass Effect 1in the time it takes me to just level up one level in an UbiSoft RPG.

I am really curious to see where you are getting your data from becauseit completly flies in the face of my experience with these games: In ME 1 it took me 3 40 hour playthroughs to get to max level. (OK about halfway through but we're still talking about 100 hours). In Breakpoint its absurdly easy to get experience. From doing various missions, to killing bad guys, to even picking up sugars for crying out loud. And that is not even touching all the things you can do to gain XP faster. It took me about 40 hours to reach max level in Breakpoint...about half as fast. And it was a similar experience in Odyssyey...sans getting xp from flower picking.

Uh, it took me roughly 30 hours to get from 1-50 in ME1 and that’s with doing the side content, and killing turrets on foot (weaken with Mako, use personal weapons for finishing). Pretty sure the DLC also played a factor as well for that New Game Plus play-through. Breakpoint on the other hand, I’d fall asleep with the needless padding that is travel time, trying not to die, and load screens if you expect me to spend more than an hour with the game.

Open beta, and I have played Ghost Recon 2, Advanced Warfighter 2, Future Soldier, and Wildlands as a frame of reference. Breakpoint outright betrayed the franchise.

How the fuck is that a "logical disconnect" from the Ghost Recon fanbase? This is Old Republic in a Ghost Recon skin.

Ubisoft does not have to make games that complies with a list of 'what the game is known for'. New elements are either successful or not (and we could discuss that) but Ubisoft have every right to introduce RPG elements and online operation. So if some members of the traditional Ghost Recon player base could pay attention to the game that is before them rather than whining about it not being a different game that they would have preferred, we would all be better off. Ubisoft have recognized a disconnect between two parts of the player base and hopes to address that. It has some mechanics that weren't successfully implemented, but at its core it remains an enjoyable game, it may just not be the game some players wanted. That doesn't make it a bad game, it does mean it has struggled to find its audience and the complaining has done little to incentivise potential new players to try it.

The fact that UbiSoft never bothers learning about their competition tells me they are in their own little bubble when it comes to being aware of the gaming industry at large. The core fanbase is what keeps them financially afloat. If they like the game well enough, they will spread the word to their friends and family. If not, the company suffers a PR shitstorm and suffer lost sales. Seriously, are you that freaking blind? This is the same bullshit that gave us ME3 (i.e. Let's add in a Gears of War Horde Mode, even if it means our single player portion suffers for it.)

Heck even the MTXs aren't new for Ubi either. It's almost like gamers have been going around for years saying 'this is fine' and then all of a sudden changed their mind. Anyways while the inventory looter shooter aspect is frustrating...which they are apparently taking steps to fixing... and the bugs are frustrating...this game is highly enjoyable. And I don't know whether I'm core fan enough for the likes of lunatic...but pretty much all I've played and purchased since MEA has been Ubisoft games. I like em. I like them introducing RPG elements towards them. I love how they handle MP, their OWs are the best I've played in the industry, and they've even shown me that online only games don't have to be a death sentence. If that's not core I don't know what it is...

All this talk of 'core fanbase' smacks of rank entitlement. Ubisoft decides what games they make, then it's up to consumers to buy or not as they wish. Ubisoft has to gamble that it makes a good game of course. There's a significant portion of gamers (within the significant portion who are unhappy) that are behaving like spoiled toddlers. Incidentally, the multiplayer was arguably the most successful part of ME3, certainly financially, and still the finest co-op multiplayer I've ever played.

Whether or not ME3’s multiplayer is financially successful or not doesn’t matter. The “I play only single player” crowd will have this perception regardless if they hate multiplayer. Problem is Co-op and PVP has been shoved down our throats throughout most of the Seventh Generation up to the point there’s only at least a dozen single-player exclusive games. In regards to Ghost Recon: It’s easy to compare it to Resident Evil, and no, it’s not entitlement if the main fanbase of Ghost Recon outright hates the game. The gamble is not worth it,if Ubisoft’s PR has suffered in an era Assassin’s Creed has been run to the ground this gen. Unity is still fresh REGARDLESS of the fixes after the fact. Shoehorning RPG mechanics since Syndicate has made the game not fun to play no thanks to the grind feeling like needless busy work for the sake of it.

Shoehorning RPG mechanics since Syndicate has made the game not fun to play no thanks to the grind feeling like needless busy work for the sake of it. Back when I first watched a Lets Play of AC: Black Flag my initial reaction was 'looks great, but man I wish there was dialogue options to control what Kenway was saying'. Granted I was pretty new to the whole RPG thing...and quite enamored...but then Odyssey came out and I found out 'hey cool they are making an AC RPG'...I picked it up and had a blast. Stellar combat, great story, solid characters, limited grind , the RP was a bit lacking but not bad for a first attempt. I have been wanting a modern day tactical shooter/ Spec Ops RPG almost since I first discovered the term and started playing them. There hasn't been...but given Breakpoint and Wildlands I hope that we will soon get a proper RPG set in the Ghost Recon verse with actual special forces and high stakes decisions. I picked up Wildlands on a lark and enjoyed the crap out of it. And Breakpoint...while they it has its new mechanics and twists on the formulae from Wildlands...and while it has its flaws (like all games) I see nothing radically different from Wildlands to justify the blowback. As far as the Entitlement argument is concerned...everyone is entitled to their point of view...however every single game company, every single video game ever developped, is constantly battling between keeping their core audience...but also expanding their business...so they can make money. I feel genuine distress they went too far in a couple of ways for you, but I just do not agree. Its a slightly more RPGed up version of Wildlands, hopefully they fix the Tiered loot and it can really be the game that I know it can be. As far as MP. I tend to agree with you, traditionally I don't like MP however as long as its optional...and cooperative...I don't see the issue inherently. GR:B, believe me, is just as functional as a SP experience as Wildlands was.
