I'm loving the CC impressions, guys! Definitely much better hair than DAI. I won't buy the game yet. I want full surprise at release. Going to be an awesome game. I hope it won't be too long.

I can't seem to find the event log to check rolls and dialogue anywhere. I wonder if there even is one?

I'm loving the CC impressions, guys! Definitely much better hair than DAI. Way more options too. My female half-elf had 24 hair options, from pixie cut to super long hair that looks right out of DAI hair mods. I can't seem to find the event log to check rolls and dialogue anywhere. I wonder if there even is one? There is one, because people are giving feedbacks about it, but I couldn't tell you where it is. Maybe one of the buttons around the mini-map? Or a foldable drawer UI element at the bottom? The UI has too many buttons. I have also seen screenshot with extended hotbars at the bottom and I have no idea how people did it.

Someone made a comment about the % to hit in combat. There are two: - when you highlight an enemy (that's your "to hit" vs the enemy AC) - the circle on the left side, that's the representation of the advantage/disadvantage dice(s) you can have in certain combat conditions. I don't have any crashes so far. *cross fingers* I'm no fan of the rng rolls. I've to reload when I get lousy results. Failing those rolls isn't always a lousy result, it's just a different story path. There are some content you won't see by always succeeding and vice-versa. It's also how D&D works and nobody had issues with them in other D&D based games when the rolls happened in the backgrounds and it just said failure on screen when you failed something like a persuasion check. Combat works the same, do you reload every time you get a miss? ... No. Some games think combat should stand out and increase the desired dice roll outcomes. If you can play through a game normally I'm fine with the occasional blunder. If you have to roll 3 critical successes every combat I usually stop playing altogether.

It's all low level 5e D&D so far. Enemies seems balanced for your party level. Saying that, Eldritch Blast, Dissonant Whispers and Tasha's Hideous Laughter. Warlock Great Old Ones are just great at CC and damage at low levels. You can examine creatures/enemies before you get in range to start combat too. So you can know when enemies are higher level before you piss them off. And I still need to test some of the throwables I picked on the mindflayer ship.

One McGuffin for one quest is fine. I expect RPGs to be solvable without having excelsheets and pages of inventories to browse. A concise, clear skillset, a streamlined spell-book. How is that in BG3?

A concise, clear skillset, a streamlined spell-book. How is that in BG3? BG3 doesn't really have crafting so no recipes/crafting materials. But it is D&D and if you wanted streamlined go look elsewhere, you won't find it in a proper D&D adaptation. Spellcasters start with about 5 known spells and that's not counting other abilities tied to their selected archetype or race. It just grow from there. There are scrolls. The Wizard's spell scrolls can be learned by Wizard and added to their spellbook. Some are for out of combat stuff like detect thoughts, disguise self, friends, etc that you wouldn't necessarily waste a known spell slot on. There are potions. I have found health, speed potions and resistance potions so far. I'm not quite certain if spells require material components as per the rules, but I think I found some going by the item description. You can also pick-up a bunch of trash that you probably shouldn't pick-up because they are worthless, like skull and bones. Or they might have a weird usage somewhere too. Who knows.

Def gonna be checking this out at the full release. But looking at some videos so far its looking pretty good. Big jump up in visual presentation as far as cutscenes and dialogue go over divinity.
The posts in the steam forum though lol

Still having trouble with the interface. Now I've got Shadowheart stuck in hiding mode while my PC isn't , and it seems now I have to move both of them separately. Sound like the portraits are unchained. Drag Shadowheart's portrait to your character in the bottom left, you should see a chain between them. Thanks, that was it. Managed to get into a real stupid situation in the Chapel. I don't know when or if Necrotic Auras go away but protip: don't send someone with 2 HP into one to raise somebody. Also, definitely get Gale killed at some point.

According to some reviews on Steam it is a very rough diamond, which makes me wonder; aside from tweaking, bugfixing and optimization, can they actually change any core elements of a game even during Early Access ?
I never played any of the Divine Divinity games so I am unbiased where similar mechanics are concerned ( this seemed an issue in several reviews )
The CC looks promising ( facial scans = brilliant idea ) and I am told that the cinematics and graphics were top-notch.
All in all I am hoping for a great story and immersive gameplay when the final release is... well released. Guess I will hang around in Night City until then 🙂

Also, definitely get Gale killed at some point. You know, that's not the kind of advice people usually gives. Ugh... ran into a pretty serious camp bug. It was working fine earlier, but now I'm unable to rest at all. When I try, it just teleports us back to where we were. But people are complaining long rest are OP on the official forum (no limitation)...despite a few having the same issue as you. According to some reviews on Steam it is a very rough diamond, which makes me wonder; aside from tweaking, bugfixing and optimization, can they actually change any core elements of a game even during Early Access ? Both Divinity games changed a lots in their year of early access. Stuff got added, stuff got removed, stuff got tweaked. It's the whole point of the EA. BGIII already has a solid base to build from. Most of the complains not related to "bugs/lack of polish" are based on abilities not working like their D&D counterpart, missing class features and the UI being a bit obtuse for certain things (ex: for an attack to connect, you need to select the highlighted creature, if it's not highlighted, it won't hit it).

I have noticed another camp bug, every time I cancel resting in the camp OR travelling to camp, the camp button becomes unresponsive. In addition, if I'm already in the camp, I can't rest and get out of the camp.
Second is a graphic related bug when first meeting Raphael. Either that or my companions decided to give me some special treatment Another bug with Gloves of Power. They should curse your opponent with Bane when you make a succesful hit but at the moment both your opponent and yourself are inflicted. Cool feature

Having played a while I have a feeling AC isn't being calculated correctly. Even with an AC 20 I'm getting hit like 50% of the time. Something's... off.

If they have advantage it shouldn't be that hard. Are most of your encounters against elevated enemies? The player hitting 50% of the time is 5e at level balance might I add.

No, I was even getting knocked around by the fishermen. AC 20 should be hard to hit at this level unless they have a lot of situational bonuses. I wish I could see the enemy rolls to understand what was happening.

The dice rolls are a bit wonky as well or I don't understand the mechanics. If I have bonuses worth of +3, shouldn't my lowest roll be at least 4 then? I frequently roll ones and twos irregardless.

You got one short rest that heals a bit (should be two short rests between long rest on normal). Short rest also refresh certain class abilities. I'm not even sure how to short rest in this game. And lighting torches should not be an obscure multi-step process! Short rest is the "BG sleep" icon/button on the right side of the mini-map. You just have to dip them in flames or use a candle...and I was thinking of just taking the light/dancing light spells at character creation but decided against it. Maybe I should have. The dice rolls are a bit wonky as well or I don't understand the mechanics. If I have bonuses worth of +3, shouldn't my lowest roll be at least 4 then? I frequently roll ones and twos irregardless. The bonuses are removed from the DC instead of added to your roll result So if the DC is 10 and you got a +4 bonus, you'll see 6 and roll a d20 against that. It's perfect for people who don't care about the math, totally confusing for people who know how it works.

I googled where to find Short Rest - it's pretty handy. It's just odd with the torches. It should just be a right-click or something easy. You can light candles and braziers with a click, but you have to Dip your torch into an existing flame to light it. It's a good point about the DCs (though it would be nice if it displayed your bonus). I noticed some bugs with modifiers not applying though. But to be expected I guess.

Nah, they work it the other way round. Instead of adding your bonuses to the dice roll, they subtract them from the target. If you hover curser over the target values, you’ll see the original target values and any modifications.

I also lucked out and finally managed to get a long rest after completing the Chapel. An option to call it day popped up after the final battle.
