Out of all the Asari, Liara bothers me the most due to her creepy stalker nature. I do understand loyality as a virtue but going overboard like she did I do find very creepy. That's one of the reasons to remake the trilogy. Have Shepard survive the beginning of ME2 so that there will no broker dlc with all that crap with the t'soni asari. I wouldn’t mind Liara keeping her ME1 personality.

So they allow millions to die, just because they walked away from them? How petty is that? No wonder they walked away from the Alliance. There are plenty of other reasons as well, made abundantly clear throughout the games, too. Things such as the Alliance needing to fill in the blanks of the Citadel Space’s fleets after the attack in ME1, the Terminus Systems ready to declare war if Council forced enter their territory which would kill even more, and so on. No, petty is the Horizon colonists being ungrateful snots about being saved after learning Shepard saved them. Why bother filling in those gaps? It's the Council Fleet. Why should the humanity fix the mess that the Council made. Let THEM cut their fleets down to fill in those gaps. Those human ships could be better off being used to protecting those colonies and preventing those kidnappings. And no they weren't petty, they were pissed that half of their colony, their friends and loved ones were taken. How would you feel if it was someone you know that was taken?

It feels like you're arguing for the sake of arguing now, with you ignoring or missing obvious things like that. I'd feel appreciative of the people who at least saved half of us, not insult them because they are attached to a government I hate.

Then 2 years later, they pretend that they're doing things to stop it yet they allowed millions of people get liquidfied just so that they could pay lipservice to the Council. This goes double when it becomes clear that they fell on the Council's bandwagon, dishonouring the very person they used to get that damned seat in the first place. Look, you can defend the Alliance all you want, but in my book they are honourless cowards who turned their backs on humanity, just so that they could pony up to the Council.

Realistically, mainstay characters would not be removed. The more periphery cast would be the ones to get adjusted or removed. With Zaeed’s voice actor being dead, he’d be axed first, and probably a few others that didn’t contribute to the main story much. Not that it matters. I don’t see a brand new anything treading over the reaper plot anyway.

Some people: "We will go settle in the Terminus." Alliance: "Guys, please don't settle in the Terminus systems, we can't protect you there." People: "Fuck you! You don't get to tell us what to do. We do what we want. We'll settle in the Terminus." Alliance: "But the Terminus systems are full of pirates, gangs and warlords. You won't be safe there. We can't send our fleets in there as we already have a huge amount of space to protect and administer and this is too dangerous. We'd be vulnerable to ambushes and can't build reliable supply lines. Also, we can't antagonize the Terminus by sending our fleet in because it will just unite the different factions against us in which case they'd be real threat. Even the council doesn't do that." People: "Yea well, fuck you, we'll still settle in the Terminus!" Alliance: "But we have so many colonies in the Traverse that are barely populated. There are entire beautiful planets with barely tapped resources that you could go for. Even our most established colonies like Terra Nova or Eden Prime have just a few million people on them and have like one city each on an entire planet. Or go further out to places like Benning or Elysium or anywhere really." People: "No, we won't be under Alliance rules and regulations." Alliance: "But Why? Colonies basically administer themselves for the most part. But ok, this is a really bad idea but you do you, just know that if you really don't want to be in Alliance controlled space, we can't protect you." People: "Yea well fuck you!"
A few years later...
People: "HELP! Our Terminus colonies are going missing." Alliance: "We told you we can't protect you out there. But ok, we are sending one of our best operatives and technicians and resources out there as low key as possible so they can build some ground to air/space guns for you, so you have at least some defense." People: "Yea ok. But they better not spy on us!" Alliance: "Ok, let's do that then."
A little later when Shepard is on Horizon: Dude: "This is all the Alliance's fault!"

After the stupid comment made by Anderson telling Shepard it's up to him/her about finding a way to stop the reapers, I doubt the Alliance made any effort to inform people about settling in the terminus and the dangers they might face.

Even if they didn't (and IIRC, there was some mention in ME2 that they actually did). You don't build your house in the middle of a failed state and then get to complain why the big superpower you moved out of and that has plenty of other problems of their own doesn't send 3 aircraft carriers when something weird happens. I mean, everybody knows that the Terminus if frigging dangerous and that none of the major powers want's to go there. It's not a big secret, it's all over the extranet.
I really don't get humans (aka the writers at BW who write humans). They started interstellar exploration/colonization like 30 years ago. They barely made a foothold on a dozen worlds or so (which is already super impressive as it is). They have frontiers galore to explore and settle with everything from nice garden worlds to really (and I mean REALLY) challenging environments, with business opportunities and lonely places and whatever you could possibly think of as someone who wants to get "out there". But no, a whole bunch of them want to go into the one area that everyone tells them is full of pirates and criminals and murderers and other kinds of assholes and another bunch says "hey, let's spend trillions of credits to freeze ourselves for 300 years and go on a completely bogus suicide mission to another galaxy".
What is wrong with these people?

Which doesn’t even make sense, since the escape pods were rescued so they had to know where the Normandy was. It’s almost like the reason we go is for the players to say goodbye or something.

I’d be more concerned about the top secret info that the ship would contain that would be scattered all over the planet. Even if the Alliance can’t just send a bunch of ships into the Terminus to do retrieval, they could do something like the Corsairs, commissioned to retrieve what they can. Kinda funny that Shepard isn’t tasked with that. Just collect shiny dog tags. Man I hate doing that. I always forget where the last one is.

Wonder if that's how the quarians were able to build that stealth ship? The Salarians were also developing similar technology. I don't think that the Salarians would give them that kind of technology. Seeing as they and the rest of the Council races were content to let the quarians die a slow death. So the question is: did they salvage the old Normandy or did Tali give them the blueprints to make a stealth drive?

I'm sure that reason would sit well for the families of the victims. Yeah, **** the Alliance. ME2 proved they never cared.
That too. But the fact is the Alliance made no effort to find the remains of the SR1. They didn't care.
If/when a remake happens, I would have Shepard survive the beginning, then after being treated for his/her injuries, heads to the location where the SR1 was destroyed. Shepard, A/K and whoever else search the area to find the dogtags.
After spending about 2 years trying to find clues to stopping the reapers, without any success, Shepard meets up with Lawson on the Citadel. She talks about colonists being abducted. Shepard joins her on Freedoms Progress to get evidence. Later Shepard confronts Anderson who says nothing is being done causing Shepard to flip him the bird. She/he works with Cerberus to get answers. The Alliance aren't fans of that, but know something has to be done.

That sounds decent, except I would prefer a choice between working with Cerberus or the Alliance/Council. Or at least have more nuance in the options.
