Getting back to normal within reason... MLB was due to start its delayed season in March but will open on 7/23/20 instead to a nearly empty stadium with players carefully observing Covid-19 protocol. The game is scheduled for 7PM ET and can be viewed on ESPN. I'm not really into baseball, but it feels so good to have something resembling normal sports back! Ok, so it's almost exactly 5 months after I had the bug, and the latest blood panel showed that everything has returned to normal. That means no more anticoagulants, yay! There will be more checkups, but thats fine by me. Decided that it's high time I went cycling; I have been servicing my bike after it got mauled by movers. Man was it difficult! The lungs just aren't doing their job properly. I knew it would take time for the lungs to heal, but damn! Thought I'd once again warn everyone. You wanna give this bug a wide berth. Cheers!

Have you had a lung x-ray? I wonder if there is any permanent damage, it would be easily visible that way. A relative of mine had a severe case of lung infection (Bacterial) and it took her a full year to get back to 90%. She would sweat and wheeze at the slightest physical tasks for many months, and she was very fit before that infection.

Ok, so it's almost exactly 5 months after I had the bug, [snip] Have you had a lung x-ray? I wonder if there is any permanent damage, it would be easily visible that way. A relative of mine had a severe case of lung infection (Bacterial) and it took her a full year to get back to 90%. She would sweat and wheeze at the slightest physical tasks for many months, and she was very fit before that infection. I had only mild symptoms, so no. It was more like a bad flu and a cough. And obviously the blood clot got all the attention. It wasn't until the first time I went for a walk in march that I realized I was wheezing and felt shortness of breath. I've never had any lung problems before. My main type of exercise has been walking, since I was told not to exert myself. Probably still shouldn't, but just couldn't resist taking the bike for spin.
A chest X-ray sounds like good idea. Will ask about it. And yes, lungs take a very long time to heal.
Cheers!

I've just read that a good percentage of people who were infected with Covid19 were diagnosed with permanent heart damage, and the bad thing is that it happened to people with severe AND very mild cases.

It's not a cure. But there is plenty of evidence that it can be an effective treatment if taken early. (Though any such action should only be done with a prescription and under doctor supervision) I'm kinda suspicious of all the pooh-poohing of the treatment is in part for money. There's less money to be made in a drug that's been around for decades, has generic alternatives, and is quite cheap. Than the potential billions to be made in selling a vaccine the world is clamoring for. I wonder how many big shot politicians and business leaders are actually taking it as a prophylactic in secret...?

(Though any such action should only be done with a prescription and under doctor supervision) Provide a link to this evidence. If that link is not the American CDC or similar organisation around the world, this post will be removed. All official information I’ve seen about this drug is that it was approved only as a trial. Approval that was revoked in mid-July. ProBoards do not allow the spreading of false information regarding Covid-19, and so neither do we.

On another ProBoards forum I'm free to talk about this, so I can only assume moderation here is as sh*t as it's been since Sofa took over, or you're lying, or ProBoards is VERY uneven in its policies. Not only that, you literally move the goalposts between one sentence and the next, before I can even respond "Evidence, but only from THESE pre-approved sourcs" (which have already some out against it, so you're stacking the deck right there) So you don't WANT me to provide evidence And, for the record, I specifically said that it ISN'T a cure, merely that there is EVIDENCE that it can HELP under specific circumstances, and that you should talk to a doctor and get a prescription. (Sheesh) I Any rate, here's some evidence, though the post will probably be removed anyway, because Orwell is running the show here: www.ijidonline.com/article/S1201-9712(20)30600-7/fulltexthealth.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/pharma/why-icmr-continues-to-stand-firm-on-using-hydroxychloroquine-as-prophylaxis/76172274www.nature.com/articles/s41419-020-2721-8www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2052297520300615www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2020.01704/fullwww.news-medical.net/news/20200723/Prednisone-Hydroxychloroquine-Best-Among-COVID-19-Treatments-Claims-Large-Spanish-Study.aspxMaybe I should just say vaccines cause autism. Sounds like I'd get in less trouble for that... Yes, there is also evidence it ISN'T effective. Totally acknowledge that. but geez, do you know what you all look like when simply acknowledging there might be more than one side to an issue, and maybe we don't have all the facts yet is verboten? It's like you're putting Galileo on trial again! If there's something that MIGHT be effective, that could save a lot of lives, or at least buy some time for a vaccine to be developed, shouldn't that be discussed? What's next, will talk about remdesivir become verboten because the evidence of its efficacy isn't clear yet?

The media turning Hydroxychloroquine into some kind of conspiracy is bizarre. Is it because Trump took it? It will either be found to work or not, and I assume labs around the world are testing it. So time will tell. I doubt the pharmaceutical companies have so much power or are so evil that they'd prevent a cheap drug from coming to market if it's effective.

They rely on misinformation being reported to them, which any guest - member or not - to this forum can do. So if you’re free to talk about misinformation on another ProBoards forum, it’s because no-one goes there. ProBoards lists sites for reliable information. We didn’t contribute to, or vet that list. Wrong. As usual. What’s next is we’ll look at the links you provided.

If it turns out that the vast majority of experts were wrong, then great. A cheap fix to a very expensive problem. I imagine that it has more than a little to do with the fact that from the moment it was suggested, experts in the field were falling over themselves to warn against it.

In case anyone missed it, back in March we posted a link to the ProBoards stance regarding COVID-19. Everyone is free to read the stance that ProBoards has provided regarding this. It's a public post, even if we were notified through the forum Admin Panel. If any of you are part of another ProBoards community, it is entirely possible that the other ProBoards community you are a part of may have interpreted the somewhat limited information that ProBoards posted in a different way. Depending on how much traffic the site gets, or whether or not it has had previous interactions with ProBoards staff regarding the content on their site, the admins/management might indicate a different type of response to the ProBoards posting. Until the warning/announcement disappears from within the Administrative Management panel, we will continue to adhere to our understanding of their policies. Specifically to address Iakus' post, disregarding any single suggested medicine or treatment the most important point, as he mentioned, is that any treatment/drug should be discussed/taken with a prescription and under doctor supervision. Thank you all for understanding.
