Booked for my 2nd dose for June 10th.
There is no problem with mixing doses now it seems. I had the Astra Zenica dose for my 1st one but chose one of the others for does 2, pfizer I think.

Uhm... yesterday i got my first shot (Pfizer). I was told to expect mild symptoms of fever, but i only felt a bit sleepy over a few hours after the shot. Now, my left arms hurts a bit when i try to move it from >90º, but nothing else (well, i had a bad time sleeping because i couldn't lean to the left as usual). Now, i just have to wait until the 29th of this month to receive the second doses, and be done with this business (you can get a green card, after 2 weeks from your 2nd shot, that let's you have a bit more freedom moving around). Still, plenty of folk left without vaccinated, so even if you are done and ready, you got to keep up the health measures to keep them save!. Update: Now, not even the arm hurts, maybe they injected me with water... or is my darkspawn blood

Silver lining of already having had a moderate case of COVID in 2020 means with the vaccine on board I may be immune even longer? that's pretty sweet.
also new york times reports that since the CDC said the vaxx'd can go maskless, a lot more people signed up for vaccine again instead of the downward trend.
I just wish I could share the abundance of shots with my indian lover so he could finally be with me again.

My sister just got out of the hospital yesterday after being there for 17 days, probably over half of the time sedated and on a ventilator. Some lung damage but how much and permanent or not us unknown yet. I was fairly convinced she was not going to make it.

Some lung damage but how much and permanent or not us unknown yet. I was fairly convinced she was not going to make it. That's great news! As far as left over effects goes, i got buddies that were left with a change of smell and taste, after recovering. So, if your sister didn't have any other noteworthy illness (asthma, diabetes and such), she should be, relatively, alright! May she have a good and speedy recovery!

About the lung damage, I only had a mild case and didn't need a ventilator, but it took about a year to heal. So, it's slow and steady.

Update: Now, not even the arm hurts, After my first shot my arm was sore that evening and about half the next day. By that evening it was fine. Arm hurt longer after shot #2, and I definitely had a couple days where I was more tired than usual. Still have the bruise from #2 but no other lingering effects.

Glad she made it, sorry to hear shes got some lung damage, hopefully the lung will repair the damage. Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind the question, did she have any health conditions that could be linked to the severity of the Covid infection?

She has never been a real hardy person to start with. Simply do not know but.... her and her husband are very much naturopaths by nature. It seems to me part of the issue for her is that both of them were sick with flu like symptoms and their 1st thought is to treat with herbal remedies which might be fine in the past for something like the flu, for this situation however they should have been going in for a test right away and certainly once she started to feel sicker.
Just a totally different mind set than I have on the whole issue of health and such.

I'm scheduled for my first Pfizer shot on June 18th. My family doc called me yesterday just two days after I asked them to put me on their list for when they actually get the vaccine. I was expecting not to hear from anybody (I also registered online for the vaccination center in my state) in weeks and maybe months. I'm super psyched!

Got my second Pfizer shot yesterday!
After barely noticing the first one, I feel like garbage today - fever, chills, aches, the works. 100% worth it, but I'm glad I took a day off.

My Indian Lover may possibly get a vaccine dose at the start of July, likely because countries are donating to COVAX inniative. I really don't want to get my hopes up, but I think I'm doomed regarding that. If he did, I may actually get to see him in person in September. Only a year and a half since the last time.
Sorry about the side effects @andraste_reborn . My hubs has side effects like yours, if it makes you feel better the turning point is 24 hours and you're done completely by 36

Another full night of sleep and I'm feeling fine! Sucked while it lasted but nowhere near as much as, just for example, actually having Covid-19. I hope your beau can get vaccinated soon phoray, and that he and his nearest and dearest are doing OK with the current situation in India.

I got lucky I think as it has been about 2 and a half days since I got my 2nd shot. My arm was pretty sore but pretty well nothing at all else. (Far easier then the 1st shot which had a few more sides.) Arm is still a bit sore but not real achy.

Still haven't gotten my chance to get vaccinated yet, but I can't help but wonder if its really necessary anymore. I mean, we're having around 150 infections / day right now, and the number is getting lower every day. Currently chances of getting infected are statistically super low, unless you are really pushing your luck by doing stupid things- At this point I seriously doubt there will much of a new wave of infections next fall/winter. Also, what discourages me is the number of heart inflammation cases in young men which were vaccinated with Pfizer. Heart inflammation is serious shit. Eh, dunno what to do!

Get the shot. All medications, to include vaccines have a chance of negative side effects. All.
Chance of heart inflammation is trivial compared to the chance of contracting Covid ...
Plus the Indian variant is making a pass through the world-wide population ... seems to be more infectious.
In the next few years, we will see new variants, getting your shot(s) is the best protection from losing the covid lottery.

Chance of heart inflammation is trivial compared to the chance of contracting Covid ... Actually no, a friend of mine had heart inflammation, its a very serious condition. She was extremely weak, had to rest all the time and was not allowed to do anything remotely straining for a whole year, and she suffered permanent heart muscle damage. She could not walk stairs for even 10 seconds. Its a very serious condition with high risks of causing permanent damage to the heart (scarring heart muscle). There were several hundred cases reported in Israel, I'll wait some more and see how all this plays out.

Outside of the 1/100 vaccinated people who died anyway (probably had serious comorbodities), literally every one dying of COVID right now are people who chose or could not get the vaxx. That's a pretty strong -fact-

Actually, yes … your anecdotal example (226 folks world-wide as of 11 Jun), as opposed to the broader numbers of folks getting the vaccine (literally hundreds of millions) …
The expected number was 100 … 226 is a lot larger, but a tiny, tiny fraction of total number of vaccines administered. Conflating higher numbers of a very small expectation with high percentages for the overall vaccine.
Again, the risk for you of heart inflammation is far less than the risk of covid.

I'm with Grinch on this one. The risk of getting myocarditis from the Pfizer jab is atm 275 cases out of 5 million, which is relatively low. And 95% of the cases were classified as mild, meaning only 14 cases were severe. This is not your usual viral or bacterial myocarditis, but rather a side effect from the jab.

Received my first jab on Friday. Apart from mild arm pain, no side effects. In fact, I felt GREAT for the rest of the day despite the heat the past few days.
Next day I was a bit tired but the apartment was really warming up, so it might have been that.
Second jab will be in 3 weeks, not 6 like my mom. So we'll only be about 4 weeks apart after all. This is awesome. Soon we can have a meal together again and maybe go to a restaurant again.
