If Ms. Marvel wasn’t a success she wouldn’t be getting her own show on Disney + or starring in the upcoming Avengers game. I can't call 12k copies a success. In fact, nobody can. That's crowdfunding numbers, not mass retail. Kamala Khan is very successful on Twitter, as is Rose Tico, but she doesn't move product. Which is why, I believe, they are getting bad data. Oh but of course this is because Disney, a multi billion company, has bad data unlike you BSN shitposter #73 who has all the good data. I don't claim I have good data. But as I said, It is extremely unlikely that any publisher would do something like this for any other comic book hero. Usually, either the character gets killed off and a new one takes their place, in this case a new Ms Marvel, or a re-imagined version of the character gets relaunched, after a, usually, long period of hibernation. Neither of these happened with Kamala Khan. Which is unusual, to say the least. Hence why I believe it is bad data. I've been in the comic book fandom since 1992. Started with the X-Men, predominantly and to a lesser degree Spiderman and other marvel publications. I remember Daredevil, some time in the 90s (94? 95?) when he got the redesign with the yellow suit, which was also his original suit, but I digress. At the time Daredevil, if I recall, was selling around the 30k mark and was cancelled for a while. The suit, admittedly, didn't help. It was ugly. Even if you consider that the 90s were a different time, Kalama Khan's Ms. marvel books are selling bellow what Marvel would regularly cancel. And you also have to take into consideration that, in the 6-7 years of her existence, she has been relaunched something like 3-5 times. And, not to be superfluous, but to be relaunched, you first need to be cancelled. If you need to be cancelled, that means you weren't that successful. On the other hand, there is the promotion. Understandably, Kamala Khan, as I said, is a relative newcomer in the industry. Therefore she's not as famous as other comic book heroes, like Batman and Spiderman. Perhaps even less known than even Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. Marvel believes, obviously, in Kamala and wants to promote her, which is why she is getting inserted into video games and getting her own TV show. We'll see if these prove successful, when the time comes, but the fact remains that in the time since her first appearance, Kamala has not being doing well commercially. You can disagree with that, but her multiple cancellations and low sales say otherwise. Maybe it is the comic book crowd that doesn't support her and Kamala will find her place among TV shows and video games, but to achieve that, the titles first need to be launched, which they haven't as of yet. And the question remains, if you need to relaunch a product several times to catch on and systematically fails, at what point do you just shelves it and move on? Because you believe in it, would be the answer. What causes you to have that belief then? If not bad data, what is the other explanation?

Do you often use obscure phrases of your own coinage in conversations with people who have no idea what concept those phrases are supposed to convey? How well does that work for you? I've already offered an explanation to that, in a previous post, before I used it here. I can always try to reiterate it, I don't mind. I am all for giving further explanation and clarification to what I mean. It's working well so far.

Read this article and you will know why Kamala Khan has stuck around (and why she is in the upcoming Avengers game). Her TPBs sell really well. Looking at her floppy issue sales doesn't take the whole picture into account. She sells trades.

It is ridiculously obvious how Cullen for example was made with women in mind in DA:I, as much as Morrigan, Liara or Miranda and Tali. Yennefer, Triss for men. The success was there and it's abolutely not surprising. Every single feature of Cullen's face, his hair, his armor, even his attitude, his romance content during cutscenes for him to be a wet dream. Female players even had a content for marriage, which Josephine followers didn't even had. The same with Solas with a different approach.
You can't say the same at all for Cassandra or Josephine, that's for sure. ( No, when dysney has ever been something that appealed to men ? I see a lot of young women today in their 20s that still watch dysney, still fond of them, since they were children, not the case at all for men. ) Josephine's clothe is anything but sexy or feminine while she could be considered conventionally attractive. Little fun at sight with her. ( And I am saying this as someone who liked Josephine, but I am able to put myself in the mind of others ) For Cassandra, there is absolutely nothing that would conventionally appeal to average straight men as a group. It is just reduced to different tastes. You like or you don't. That's it. There are no conventional rules used for her, and I am not saying it is a bad thing, but that's what it is. Her look, her romance content, her attitude.
I am just baffled that some could be somewhat surprised by the meh or ugly reception of Cassandra by a lot of folks. ( disagreeing, yes, but surprised... hum ) They know nothing of tastes of straight men then. ( yeah yeah everyone has different tastes, but let's not fool ourselves by thinking that average men don't have common points about things they like about women, and the opposite. There are studies that show that a lot of straight women find appealing to them a strong jaw on men for example, judged masculine, like has Henri Cavii.)
If anything I always thought that Cassandra was made with women in mind, maybe all that story of representation so important for Bioware, a female warrior, which is of course not necessarily the best when working on m / f romance, a content supposed to interest the average male players.
I'm not saying they should follow these rules, I am just baffled that anyone could be surprised. No, Cassandra doesn't look like a model, she looks average ( the poor lightening on her face during the whole game doesn't help her ) and a little androgynous, and of course the more the opposite sex looks like the same sex to those attracted to the opposite sex because they are different, the less it has effects on a lot of them. Cassandra isn't ugly, but she doesn't appeal to me at all, and her romance content doesn't appeal to me either.
No Sera doesn't look better than average women in real life ( there is something wrong with her face, like Peebee ) , average women in real life look better than her. Or then we don"t have the same meaning. Average means being random among folks, someone that is not oustanding, but that could still be cute or pretty in the eyes of many. Or then maybe I'm lucky living in a place where average women don't look bad.
I just don't understand why we have the same ridiculous behaviors, ok the Op is a troll, but everytime that someone states that Cassandra doesn't appeal to him, I feel the same hostility from some. ( talking about " boner" ) And that is what I don't like. Everyone has different tastes. Respect that.

A lot of assumptions about the “average straight male”. Any data to actually back any of it up? So you believe that Cassandra and Josephine are good representation of what the average straight male who plays Dragon Age (and games in general) is attracted to? What do YOU believe? That “average straight male” is vague at best. There is no “average straight male” definition anymore. Cass and Josephine are fine representations of a spectrum though. Christ... just look at the women wrestlers and mma fighters men find attractive. Or the differing celebrity types. There is no “average” like there may have been 20 or 30 years ago. Just like music, there us no monolithic taste that defines this generation.... no matter how much a dwindling niche on the internet loves to scream.

Well, I assume you have the data for making that assumption. Ah. I get your game. Not playing it. Christ. I just don't understand why they have to have the data to back up their claim/assumption which was in no way offensive or rude, but you don't have to do the same Personally I agree that Cassandra and Josephine don't necessarily represent what the average straight guy who plays video games wants from hetero romances and the appearance of female characters. I don't think making that assumption is far-fetched or for that matter rude or offensive. It doesn't take away from those people who do find Cassandra and Josephine exactly what they want in terms of romance and appearance.

Going back to the actual topic... wolf like dog, Mabari, Hound style dog, or customizable dog companion/evocation/plus team member?
I love both Mabari and wolf-like dog, personally...but I always had German Sheperd dogs, so... I'd love wolf like dogs!

While it can definitely be annoying to see and participate in a debate, argument or discussion where nobody is interested in expanding their horizon and aren't in the same wavelength, I feel like it's as annoying when people take these INTERNET arguments and make it seem like people are clawing each others' throats out and they need to stop and just agree to disagree. Don't think the discussion in this thread has been that abrasive to begin with lol.

At least it's fun to watch when you have nothing better to do and you have snacks and drinks. .... Damn, this virus shit better bloody clear up soon. yeah but sometimes I'm like "wait...what? Where'd they get that idea?"
as for the virus stuff...I'm allowed to go back to work after May 11th (I work in daycare) I think it ends up evolving from a debate and into more of a trash talk argument. Kinda like the one's in American wrestling. Also, you're so lucky! The place I work at is still closed (a clothing charity shop).

I'd have no problem whatsoever! *_* I had a pet goat for a time, and she was basically a dog who didn't eat meat!
