Thanks, guys. Looking like I might wait a little longer than I initially thought, then. Which is a shame, but that’s fine. Still have to finish HZD before I need to think about what my next game is

"Aaaaaghhhh look at you Chewy" in Eivor's gravelly voice was always a pleasant thing to here on returning!!!!! That was probably the best thing about returning to your village. One of the few times Eivor seems genuinely happy. But even then, it still kinda feels half done. You can't actually pet Chewie, or your ship cat, or your pet fox. I do like that random deer find their way into the village though, and the longhouse. Someone might as well get some use out of it... Actually, Eivor can pet the ship cat. I did it accidentally while getting off the longship. The camera suddenly sort of caught in mid-flight and focused on Eivor who was crouching in the ship. I was thinking; what the heck is she doing? I want her to get off. It dawned on me that she was petting the cat when I heard her talking and her arm was moving in a stroking motion. I've to say I prefer the skill up mechanics in AC Valhalla to Cyberpunk. In Valhalla, you want to upgrade? Simple, go to the high gold spots in the regions and loot the chests. In your way will be mobs, simple puzzles in getting past locked doors, climbing. Clothing requires only one special metal, weapons three. You can easily find enough to upgrade a couple of pieces of armor or a weapon in a few hours. In Cyberpunk, you want to upgrade. For low or medium level, if there's not enough mats, go to the drinks machines and buy lots of those. Oh no, drink machine is out. Run around looking for drinks machines; 200 m, 500 m away, etc. Decon drinks for the mats. Epic and legendary mats? You're stuck if your crafting level is low. Want to get it high? Run to medical vendors, buy all the inhalers. Oh darn, they cost $$. Who'd thunk that? Too bad if you don't have enough. Go do some jobs / gigs, some missions then go back to the medical centres. Rinse and repeat. Back and forth; hamster in the wheel. Of course you can do it the usual way, do jobs / quests, decon the loot. Too bad the xps is slow, money is slow. Cyberware upgrades are expensive. You can't get a lot of money the usual way, you have to use exploits if you're looking for hundreds of thousands. I detest this. I'm doing the usual way; gigs, side missions, etc. The $$ just flows down the drain when I upgrade cyberware. I can't get crafting high enough despite deconstructing a lot of stuff I picked up so I'm stuck. I cannot upgrade weapons and clothing due to the epic mats requirements and no ability to craft epic items.

Okay, yes, in general I did like the Animus Anomalies, Fishing, and Rock Stacking - sue me! LOL! As I was playing I was wondering if anyone enjoyed stacking rocks...I just skipped them. Omg, I spendt two hours on one...

Thanks, guys. Looking like I might wait a little longer than I initially thought, then. Which is a shame, but that’s fine. Still have to finish HZD before I need to think about what my next game is If they apply some fixes to CP2077, I'd recommend it. It started slow and I was a bit disappointment until Act 2. But then the side quests really started pouring in and I am a sucker for good side quests. Main story? Huh? I don't care. I got jobs all over town to do first! Plus hacking gives you a lot of ways to screw with enemies and I can change my playstyle on a whim with quite a few options available - reminds me of what I liked about Odyssey.
After Act 1 I wasn't sure if the game is a 7 or 8, but I was leaning toward 8 since everything looks gorgeous - at least on PC. I hear consoles have a lot of issues and the game often looks like crap. After spending twice more time in Act 2 (far from finished still) than on the Prologue and Act 1, I am contemplating if I should give this a 9 or better. Definitely enjoying it more than any of the Witcher games. But there are bugs galore right now, so I will caution anyone from starting it in it's current state.
And since I am speaking of my recent games and recommendations - if you haven't played the Yakuza series, do it. Yakuza 0 is amazing and the follow up Yakuza Kiwami is entertaining too, but I haven't finished it yet.

Odyssey is far better, no question. This isn't a no question, lol. Odyssey bores me after 20 hours of playing it, not so with Valhalla. The open world, quest design and writing is way more engaging in Valhalla to me.

You disagree that I find Odyssey boring after 20 hours and find Valhalla more engaging? The fact that I haven't finished Odyssey despite trying 4 times to finish my PT speak by itself. I have more hours into Valhalla in a few weeks than I have in 1.5 years of trying to finish Odyssey and the issue is not lack of spare time or backlog. We are just seeing different interests affecting how much we like a game. - A story needs to be serious for me to be engaged in it, jokey stupidity things just make me rolls my eyes and Odyssey has a lots of jokey stupidity in the writing. When my reaction to every NPCs is "gosh they are so damn stupid" something isn't right with the writing. Valhalla isn't as bad at it, it still has too much such moments in mysteries thought. - Odyssey combat is pure ability spam MMO combat and I play enough MMOs that I didn't need more of it. Saying that, it's not in my list above because I consider this a wash. Valhalla combat has its own annoyances, but it's easy even on normal so not really a big problem. - Odyssey's open world was pretty to look at, but very boring and annoying to go through. Not many interesting places to explore. Valhalla has secrets, interesting ruins to explore and puzzles. Traversal is a lot less hazardous too. Doesn't help that I love England and that pretty beach and water aren't my things. - Odyssey quest design gave me the impression it was designed by a MMO team: quantity over quality. Repetitive and bland. Valhalla offered more variety here and with the mysteries you could stumble on "quest" while exploring the country side, way better for an explorer type like me. So in simple words: I'm a serious explorer and Odyssey isn't as good as Valhalla when it comes to that. Tus me getting bored real fast when playing Odyssey.

That's what she wants, though, for everyone to see the blade openly. She isn't too fond of all the sneaking around. Except that not many people would know what it is. The only ones who would are those of the Order. I think if she were asked; hey, what's that shiny thing on your arm? *snick!* This shiny thing? (shows blade) Right, I'm ah going this way. Nice sticker btw. (runs) Right, that's the point: showing off her weapons.

I'm having a hard time getting motivated to play this week. I'm still rueful about my lost completed saves. I've just been doing Reda's contracts each day and saving. Sure would be nice to be doing that on a 100% save file, gradually upgrading all of my gear.
I saved just before meeting Ceolbert for the Sciropescire arc. I might try to play a bit more today. The game is good; it's just not so good that I can't walk away after 200+ hours. We need fresh content and features.
I couldn't tell if the new 2.00 update made a big difference on PS4Pro. My image was clearer today, but that could've been lucky weather. The fog effects are terrible in this game, often making things very challenging, not in a fun way. It's annoying after Origins had such great particle effects years ago.
I know the Yule-themed seasonal stuff is coming. I'm curious what that will include. I'm really itching for Visual Customization for gear and NG+. I want to create those "best possible" looks by mixing and matching while not sacrificing my build.
Oh, I just remembered. No more "cherry-picking while passing through" for zealots and bosses in the late-game. They'll now level even with us as we progress. It will keep my Drengr playthrough more interesting. I only fought standards and elites this morning, and they were 50 levels below me. Drengr or no, that's not competitive, so they got stomped.
I'm still really enjoying the dane axe as a primary/solo weapon. The thing hits hard, is reasonably quick, and has such a great moveset. The finishers are amazing, and I'm not usually into that stuff. (I'm talking about the combo finishers, not those disruptive stun attacks.)
I have been shuffling my feet on tackling Asgard. It's loaded with XP and was fun the first time. I just don't feel like leaving Eivor and "the real" story. That said, the change of pace may break me from my funk.

So yesterday did the Hunwald v Aelfred story Herefrith was never really in the frame I had him pinged from the get go. Was also a bit sceptical of Acha the Abbess at first but she turned out to be OK. I quite liked this story and had no hesitation in choosing Aelfred even though he is a bit full of himself but I also hoped Hunwuld and Swanburrow would relocate to the village if I didn't choose Hunwald, So it was a nice surprise to see them back at the village and the Raw Materials I earned for completing that story I used to build them a house. Then got some of the Snotinghamshire story and that has been good so far, I like all the main characters (Vili, Trygve and Hemming) the best of any of them I have done so far. I got to the point of rescuing people in the burning settlement and stuffed up and recued the dead mum instead of the father who was still alive. Pic's Hunwald and Swanburrow Aelfred had a major glitch with the siege engine Killed this Drengr Hemmingr, Villi and Eivor Jomsvikingrs on the dock at Ravensthorpe Eivor Scenery Feels a bit LOTR I really like this shot

I was seriously just wondering after posting a picture in the spoilers thread of your Jmsvikingr in the Spoilers Thread why they don't have something to show why you'd choose one over another in terms of proficiency.

Nice Reindeer, have to get me one of those. I was seriously just wondering after posting a picture in the spoilers thread of your Jmsvikingr in the Spoilers Thread why they don't have something to show why you'd choose one over another in terms of proficiency. Yeah, even now I'm not sure if the gear helps, or is just cosmetic. Apparently they do rank up the more they're used. The BSN crew has never gone down in a fight, but I can't see the rankings of existing Jomvikings in the menu. The only ones I've had to revive were those in the core game. Even then, that was maybe... twice.

Odyssey is far better, no question. This isn't a no question, lol. Odyssey bores me after 20 hours of playing it, not so with Valhalla. The open world, quest design and writing is way more engaging in Valhalla to me. While Odyssey didn't bore me until I was well into Atlantis DLC (and still finished for the sake of finishing, but OMG), I also find Valhalla more engaging. The abruptness of the ending of the main family story in Odyssey kind of retroactively ruined the game for me to a large extent. I guess now I need to have sympathy for all those people who hate ME3 just because of the ending I could see one day replaying Valhalla, but probably not Odyssey, despite much of the main story being quite engaging.
