Outside of pre-rendered cut scenes, I don't believe the game will look like that. It was borderline CGI. You'd think Ubisoft would have stopped pulling this shit by now...
lol, I've seen people complaining that it looked "last gen" a lot.
And I'm just thinking that it looks similar to what I get in Origins and Odyssey on max PC settings...

Exactly. This stuff is entirely doable with their current games.

Meh.
The new Bloodlines 2 trailer was better. Although, like Odyssey and Origins before it, this looked good. And it may well have been captured from gameplay. But - as others have said - it's not gameplay.

I think I need to stop reading posts by "NotMyAssassinsCreedGame!" people online. They grasp at (dev) straws to the point they believe Valhalla will be like the pre-Black Flag AC games and not even a RPG now.
The latest one is that they hated the mythology related creatures in Odyssey and they think the devs saying Valhalla will have grounded mythology means there won't be any. The Odyssey takes on mythology was actually very grounded compared to Origins, the previous game made by Valhalla's team.
The Valhalla CGI trailers tells me we are getting something quite similar in term of mythological stuff being real to the protagonist anyway.
Which means I expect a "remake" of the Apep (aka Apophis) boss fight to take down Jörmungandr in Valhalla.
God damn I hated that fight, after you mentioned you were thinking of playing origins again I thought maybe I should give it another go but afer being reminded of that...…….. aah NO.
I never played the DLC for Origins, I tried to start The Hidden Ones but the game glitched both attempts I made (it wouldn't load) so I gave up. I have heard The Pharaohs DLC is good but the combat I believe was like fighting the Gods in the "Events" (I might be wrong) and I just suck at that type of stuff.

dazk, combat in Curse of the Pharoahs is pretty much exactly like the main game. The pharaohs are tough, but the other enemies are just standard fare. It's definitely not easier than the main game, but it bears no resemblance to the weekly god fights.
I thought the new stuff was fine. Nice footage, more anachronism to bug the mess out of me. Ubi never promised gameplay in anything I read, so I never went into it expecting any; so, I dodged disappointment on that account.
I think the visuals look pretty good. They're not stunning, but they look good. It's important to remember these are in-engine Xbox visuals for an unfinished game. Of course they don't look better than what PC gamers can achieve with Odyssey. Valhalla is also the first game developed for these new platforms, and is being rolled out on PS4 and XB1, as well. That means that Valhalla will be more limited than if it were next-gen exclusively. Black Flag is a good example of this. The PS4 version was a more polished copy of the XB360/PS3 version. It wasn't until later iterations that the step forward in tech was obvious.

dazk this thime the Snake was super easy - I just finished Origins and Hidden Ones DLC.
Btw, for me the not-bullshot part is easily detectable from more flatter lighting, it is the part where the Viking blows horn in the beach.

Now this sounds good, but I do have one caveat. It should be smaller than Odyssey's map, but with at least as much main and gold side quests as Odyssey. If they cut down equally on everything, it achieves nothing.

They're marketing team must suck, if it took me a few seconds to come up with "gameplay cinematic trailer". Amazing how adding one word (in this case removing it) changes the entire tone of the trailer. Though I don't think it's a stretch will see those cinematics in the game. In particular the seige gameplay.

I agree. In-engine trailer would have been the right description. There was no gameplay there. However, what we did see looked kinda cool to me, so whatever, it's not like I'm in a hurry to see everything.

Dustin Russell @valorum_66 Not expecting an answer from you on this but figured I’d give it a shot. 1) Is Eivor already an assassin when we start the game up and 2) Are they called the Assassins or Hidden Ones in this game?

A bit disappointing that it's not even in June (what would've been E3), but they probably needed time to do it right, though.
Currently, we can guarantee that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will run at least 30 FPS. Assassin's Creed Valhalla will benefit from faster loading times, allowing players to immerse themselves in history and the world without friction. Finally, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will benefit from improved graphics made possible by the Xbox Series X, and we can't wait to see the beautiful world we're creating in stunning 4K resolution.
