Never said it was an issue. Just that the notion that she doesn't have a shady past is rather ludicrous. Maybe I missed something but what shady past do you speak of? I am vaguely familiar with the comics, but I don't recall anything all that offensive. And I can't imagine it being worse than some of the others in Bioware games. If its just her being a thief, I can live with that. Good, 'cause of course that's what it is. I mean, how can someone who became the most notorious master thief in the galaxy not have a shady past by definition?

I mean, how can someone who became the most notorious master thief in the galaxy not have a shady past by definition? Sure, I probably should have specified better. Considering what she does, Kasumi is a lot more laid back and pleasant compared to most other female human companions in Bioware games. I just mean she's not some sort of mass murderer, nor has ambiguous morals, working for some renegade pro human organization that casually dismisses the death of civilians, etc. Her being a thief is just a lesser evil to me. And even then, she doesn't seem malicious with her thieving. Hopefully that makes a bit more sense.

Just more origin stuff in general. 1 was great for that but it's something 2 & 3 forgot completely, bar a few passing comments. Almost makes choosing origins pointless if you start from 2 onwards.

OK, playing ME1 and going to my favorite Feros. So where is Shiala, where are the colonists? What about ME2 medical tests? (did anything or had no time for that maybe). Last thing is an e-mail from Shiala with interesting description btw about indoctrination and fighting as one. Are they alive? Actually such situation of rewriting reapers' commands by the Thorian spores (or what the all became) is worth investigating. Maybe could grow other Thorians with memory of the killed one. Who knows with that wierd plant? But no information: "war assets" without further fate. Too bad. Conrad Verner. Never really had enough of that guy. The same goes for Conrad, agree. There are many funny moments with this fan, dialogues making smile or laugh. In ME2 Conrad did good, in ME3 he actually also did good (if Shepard did everything what was needed). Have never thought he is an idiot or something. More like he has a goal in his life but lost his way, really lost. But considering how lucky Conrad was in ME1/2/3 would not be surprised if he is alive. Shiala and Conrad are met in all three games but there is no information about their fates (if everything is done right).

Kasumi, yes and I always wonder what kind of dangerous intel did Keiji Okuda's graybox had... That would be something worth to look into.
EDIT: And another thing i feel like a wasted opportunity is Leviathans. Shepard risks their life to talk to them, they promise that they will kick Reapers ass, you get a war asset Leviathan Enthrallment Team 400 and... Nothing after that. The Leviathan says that they will not fight for Shepard and his war but for themselves, so why do we even get a war asset if it is useless for us? It is only worth something to enable us to leave Despoina. ..

Maybe they were going to do it later, after getting confirmation that it is safe and they can leave their coward hiding water hole to show how powerful they are. Really, what is next if the reapers are destroyed?

Shepard's childhood and Pre-Service history if Earth-born (I'm currently writing my own story about that, specifically....I know he was a part of the Tenth Street Reds and grew up as an orphan on the streets of Vancouver (presumably)) but what exactly did that look like leading up to the day when he turned 18 and enlisted as the game says....?
That is what my story is about.

I'd have liked a little more context to the N7 side missions in ME2. One of the merc series in particular was pretty disjointed in that it took a rather sudden turn from "mercs doing shady merc stuff on some random planets" to "batarian extremists trying to destroy a colony" without, IIRC, even any explanation of how the two were connected or how Shepard found out about the batarian extremists.

ME2 and/or 3 discovering the meaning of all of Jack's tattoos. They're so intricately designed and well laid out by the Devs...Obviously they know what each of them means-- they would have to. So I would like to learn from a lore/character history perspective (especially in the surprise tattoo scene between Jack and Shepard in the Citadel Party DLC) It would have been a nice touch to finally hear Jack tell you the story, meaning and history of all of her tattoos.

I find Aethyta an interesting character. Her views on different matters are different from others. The way she talks, her behavior - such things. And also the last "mission" where we see Aethyta is in ME3 - talking to Liara (or not). And no further info about her. Considering we meet her in ME2/ME3, talk to her and can learn much about her life and views, would have been interesting to know her fate. E.g.: no more Reapers (or other paths), what about Aethyta great views on asari? Mabe after the Reapers others listened to her and changed asari way of life? (also taking into consideration asari being MFs during the war and how it turned out for them).

In ME1 there is a planet where the moons have been carved into the likeness of an alien species. I always wanted to know more about them. Why did they do this? Were the likenesses important people in their history, like an extraterrestrial version of Mount Rushmore?

Were the likenesses important people in their history, like an extraterrestrial version of Mount Rushmore? Or like in DUNE where the crater in the shadow of the moon is in the shape of a mouse. And the mouse's name was "Mua'Dib"

Replaying ME1 now. Chorban with the task of scannning the keepers. He is alive, you snanned enough keepers and in ME2 get a curious letter from him with very interesting conclusions and sad last sentence: "Just thought you'd want to know. Nobody here on the Citadel will listen to me." That guy, who knows important information and can do nothing about it. Sad indeed. Where is Chorban? If he is so smart, could have been part of some side mission with new scan, device, work with Mordin or alone, just think of some research helping in ME2 and ME3. Just waste of talent. And story life.

1.) Corporal Toombs If you he lived then you should have definitely encountered him in ME2 or ME3 and had to kill him.
2.) Cerberus as rogue Alliance Black Ops This was always a much more compelling origin for them. There were so many story telling possibilities with it.
3.) The Alliance Nuclear Probes This should have involved a big moral choice between keeping it secret or informing the Council. If you keep it secret you can argue it is for galactic stability and your standing in the Alliance is increased. If you report however the Council might sanction humanity, causing some disruption, but on the other hand Shepard demonstrates the Council can trust them. It was done for the sake of honesty.
4.) Cerberus experiments with Thresher Maws This could have been a good opportunity to inject a bit of that "moral grayness" that Cerberus is supposed to have. For instance, finding out that they took advantage of the Thresher attack on Akuze but didn't instigate it, and then finding out about examples of Alliance colonization efforts being able to successfully avoid or neutralize Threshers thanks to Cerberus' ruthless research.
5.) Project Overlord There were a lot of story telling possibilities with this. It ought to have been a game changer. You could have the continuation of Overlord help with getting the best ending for the geth/quarian conflict in ME3, or even have a three battle between the quarians, geth, and Cerberus for control of it.
6.) Ken and Lia'Vael If you helped them you should have heard something about their fate in ME3. Get a person message from them or something.
7.) The krogan political conflicts on Tuchanka I would have liked to see a lot more of this. Instead we only get a glimpse, but I find it hard to believe all krogan are all that gungho about Wrex and his reforms. I also feel that Wrex's whole ambition in ME3 is a bit off course. The prospect of a cure would rightly rally his people... but not wholly for the good. This is a very complex and dangerous situation and much more thoughtful dialog and discussion over the key players would be welcome.
8.) The Batarian Revolution Strongly foreshadowed in Bring Down the Sky, I was looking forward to this being a major plot element in ME2. It could have injected some interesting twists on the plot.
9.) The Terminus Systems In ME1 these are described as a collection of different species hostile to the Counci. So who are these species? What are they like? Why do they hate the Council? There were some great story telling possibilities here. On a related note, advertisements for the Blue Suns in ME2 suggest they recruit a lot of poor and disaffected people who have few prospects in life. It'd have been very compelling to explore this aspect of the organization. We might feel a bit guilty for killing some of these mercs since a lot of them are probably young folks from poor colonies grasping at anything they can get a hold of to improve their situation.
10.) Lysenthi Salarians They are said to be a sub-species of regular salarians and exclusively inhabit the Terminus Systems. What are they and why do they reside there?
11.) Volus/Turian political conflict Reports in ME2 indicate that some volus are pushing for independence from the Turian Hierarchy. This would be a huge political change and would have a big impact on the economy of the galaxy, and especially the Hierarchy. It could tip the balance of power. A lot is at stake and a whole series of quests could be written with it in mind.
12.) The Alliance soldier who dies on Virmire An unnamed Alliance marine dies on Virmire protecting the bomb. He is never named or mentioned anywhere that I'm aware of. This is a missed opportunity.
13.) Geth Evolution In ME1 it is implied the geth are evolving, becoming more organic. It is stated that geth hoppers are an entirely original geth design and not reminiscent of anything the quarians ever built. I'd have liked to see this concept expanded upon, with geth perhaps becoming less robotic as the series went on.

That Terra Firma guy from ME1. The one who asks for your vote. I always wanted to know what became of the choice if you agreed to support him. He got elected regardless, it was addressed in one of the novels actually. He was backed by Cerberus, so naturally his campaign budget was literally infinite.

Absolutely. It's a huge missed opportunity that colonist Shepard doesn't have extra dialog on Horizon and the Collector Ship. It should be a bit more personal for them. On that note... Spacer Shepard should have extra dialog with Tali and perhaps during her loyalty mission in ME2. They ought to be able to relate to each-other a bit better. Sole Survivor Shepard should have additional dialog from Wrex and Grunt; both impressed by their survival. Perhaps as well extra dialog with Kelly Chambers, who might inquire about PTSD from it. Ditto in that case for Ruthless. Tali might have some more dialog too, comparing it (and Ruthless) to the loss of her people on Freedom's Progress and Haestrom. Mordin should have at least something to say about Ruthless/Renegade Shepard. Kasumi might have something to say about Earthborn. How did she get into thievery? Maybe she lived on the streets too. Zaeed might be able to relate as well as I doubt he grew up in comfortable circumstances. War Hero Shepard could perhaps have additional optional lines whenever he gives a speech in the games. After all, his claim to fame is rallying civilians to defend their colony from slavers and pirates. Surely War Hero Shepard is the best orator.
