No, I think that's still being too generous. They ruined my favorite character and game for a DLC that did nothing, thus completely destroying my faith in them as a company. After all, why trust them to tell a complete story this time? Especially since any potential in this game's story has been shot to now being just stopping another crazy ancient mage from destroying the world. Whoopdeefuckingdoo. Well no, that is quite an unwarranted overreaction. We don't really know anything about the story yet, so you really can't say whether they have not said a 'complete story' or released a DLC that 'did nothing', especially considering how many things it has set up, entirely aside form suggesting Inky's continued involvement in the plot. And that part has simply not hinged solely on Inky returning as main protag (heck, Inky COULD have been a protag and still not deliver a complete arc). It's completely warranted, and I'm still holding back. Yes I can. DAI ended as a complete story. Then Trespasser came out, undid that by dragging them into a new story, only to leave them tossed to the side like trash for this new character. And for what, to show us Solas was the Dread Wolf and he was planning evil things? We already knew that with the end credit scene. So like I said, it was all for nothing.

I'm not sure we can tell exactly what they have in store for either Inky or the new PC, what they have learned from past games and what new routes to tell a story they now have compared to before, so I'm definitely withholding my judgement in this regard before I try the game itself or learn enough to judge it's not for me (which is unlikely, even if they cut Inquisitor entirely, because I'd be super-curious how they're going to address this). Anyhoo... I do like the contrast between your avatar and description right under it Like, sincerely, not in a mocking fashion - that's just funny. The one thing I would really want above anything else is that for every new PC they introduce, the previous one make no appearance at all. If the Inquisitor has some involvement in the story, I’d much prefer it be through a fixed character that serves as an agent, rather than the Inquisitor being the Nick Fury that I have to be subjected to their autopilot dialogue and possibly breaking the pace of the game by going through another character creator, like we did with Hawke. As I mentioned - we simply do not know many things, including how they're going to design the story, especially if they are going to bring back Inky and give us the ability to customize them. For all we know, we may be able to design Inquisitor in DA Keep or prior to the start of the game, or designed them before prologue if we choose so, or something. We can't tell what kind of hurdles await them during development, but DAI was in many ways the very first game of its kind on Frostbite. Now, it will be the 4th one on FB for Bioware alone, never mind EA as a whole.

Ok my sleep and rest of tomorrow is officially cancelled. I AM SO EXCITED OMG this is WAAAYYY more than I ever expected from Bioware in 2020 - The dwarven thaigs look AMAZING - The concept art in general looks AMAZING - Solas' new armour is...wow. Also, he's still wearing his amulet which is verrrrry interesting. And does the wolf mean he's two separate entities or...hmmm - I really want Audric as a companion - Rasaan too - going by the art it looks like the veil will come down middle/end of game - I'm sooo excited to see more wardens especially if it has to do with weisshapt drama where is everyone seeing this stuff? Lol. Granted watched it while having breakfast on my phone first but it's all like...Dwarven thaig where...spider hands wah?

I guess this confirms a new protag for DA4. Oh, gee. Like I've been saying? Anyway, that was about as underwhelming as I expected it to. Barely even a gameplay prototype. The game would be 3 years away, at the very least, in a good year. I'm going for 4, with a possible delay into year 5. I had the complete opposite reaction, in regards of timeframe. Don’t get me wrong, I do expect a delay to happen, but it’d based on their schedule 2022 release, so, I’d say 2-3 yearsc not 4-5 from now.

I’m quite happy that they released a video showing their progress on the game. I didn’t expect them to be already working on VAs. I *think* the release of this video increases the chances of full announcement trailer in December, at the all-online VGA. A viable possibility, but I'm not expecting anything either way. I prefer to be pleasantly surprised.

I think maybe this is being a bit unreasonable. Sure, I want the Inquisitor to return as the PC, but at the same time, getting the same character as the PC in a Dragon Age game was never really in the cards. The closest we’ve ever gotten was Awakening, which is just an expansion. Heck, even having multiple PC’s to a single villain even has precedence as of DA2: Legacy. Personally, I look forward to going through the recruitment of an entirely new roster, new friendship paths, and of course, a new romance without having to cheat on the previous game’s LI. Come on. The direction the next title was going in was set the moment Solas meets Flemeth in that post-credit scene in the base game, and it was clear that the story wasn’t quite over yet. There was no other way that could’ve gone. If you were expecting something else in any major narrative going forward, then you may not be Dragon Aging correctly.

I was expecting to have a more nuanced story, like the protagonist and antagonist having an unique relationship to each other due to their past than being just two strangers again.

Alrighty - let's get started! Here's the party memembers: I'm assuming the one in the middle is the new protag. The guy on the right looks interesting... Me too. Can you (or someone else) please make a pic at 1:09? Here you go Creatures: Lots of skellies in these pictures: - The person to the right in the first picture, who seems to be a companion, and someone suggested could be a Mortalitasi?.
- Then there's the guy in the water just above Dorian in the second picture. Seems to either be wearing a skull helmet or mask, or to be an actual skeleton. Maybe same guy as in the first picture?
- The big skeleton in the last picture seems to be wearing a similar headpiece as the potential companion in the first pic, and has what looks to be glowy ethereal looking flames (veilfire?) around. So again, maybe related?
I don't know, maybe it's all unrelated, but I found it curious.

It most certainly did not. Even if Trespasser has shone new light on the fact that this is a story that has a grand arch going way beyond one game, it's quite apparent from vanilla DAI that this was an open-ended story. Anyway - you seem to have your mind set and I won't be arguing ad nauseam stuff like Inky not being protag hardly indicates that they are 'tossed to the side like trash', so... I hope you'll find something to your liking somewhere else?

"What happens when the people in charge aren’t willing to address the issues?" I love this theme! When he said that, it reminded me of 2 things from previous BioWare games: 1. That rebellious moment when Shepard said FU to the council and ungrounded the Normandy in order to save The Milky Way. The background music really amplified that feeling, too. 2. The general comradery amongst the Hawke and the DA2 companions. Another reason I love it is because, essentially, we are the exact opposite of our Antagonist. I mean, there’s already an inherit sense of powerless with Solas being the antagonist, so it’s cool that they’re embracing that thematically. One thing - if those figures are the companions, I hope we at least get a Dwarf companion in the future, because it doesn’t look like there’s one in that group. I see a sentinel elf in the front, and could that be Mae along side her? Yeah, the "What happens when the people in charge aren’t willing to address the issues?" sounds like a promotion for DA2. Same for the powerlessness (of Hawke, in restrospect) as well as close relationship to companions. I just hope not all of these "human-sized" people are (andrastian) humans. Want some more dwarves and especially elves (given what's at stake) this time. I just realised... Is that the Crow on the left? I don't even dare to hope it's Zevran. Ah, I knew I've seen this ridicolous costume before. :lol:Zevran might be ok. Any other crow is practically dead once I would encounter them, and these garbs make killing them even more justified. I'm roughly 10000% sure those magic archers are Solas' lackeys. The shards they're using remind me of the elven mosaics. Maybe promising for blended classes though? To be honest, the warden warrior and his stuff also looks pretty colourful-magicky. Do "muggle" abilities all look like this these days?

I really don't understand why they decided to have Solas as the antagonist or end Trespasser that way if they were going to have a new pc. Because "Thanks for buying our games. Fuck you. Love Bioware." I guess. You guys do realise Inky had only one arm at the end of trespasser and in one line says their adventuring days are over? Besides like hawke in Inquisition i am sure they will play a role.

As I’m largely satisfied with Inquisition, I don’t have any serious expectations for something terrible if my preferences to that end aren’t met, so I’m good either way. I just prefer that a protagonists not get the cameo treatment, and either be committed to fully as a playable character, or just not come around at all. I guess I’ll have to see where it goes. Overall, I’m just excited to get a new Dragon Age game at all. I’m tired of all this multiplayer shit filling up the market with so few SP experiences to balance it out.

Besides like hawke in Inquisition i am sure they will play a role. Tevinter Nights established the existence of prosthetics in the DA world that allow people to explore and fight. Also Bioware said that's notr why they removed the arm. Though clearly that was a lie and makes them disgusting individuals. Hawke was completely ruined in Inquisition.
