because it's key somehow to Solas' plans to bring down the Veil, which he admits will release the false gods probably I like to think that Solas only woke up when he did because the idol had surfaced but that doesn't fit the timeline of when he says he awoke, unless he took a very long time to come out of Uthenera, and also the fact that Felassan was working on his behalf in Orlais some 20 years before Solas emerged. What was he doing all that time? Also, if Solas needed the idol to bring down the Veil, then why not secure it before handing over his orb to someone else to open? because the orb was Veilbringingdownmacguffin Plan A, and the idol is the backup one ?

Now that you said that, I see it. My brain didn't register the stars on the right side, that was an unified color and looked like rocks. *not crazy*

Who will become crazy in the party first? Do people remember in what Varric kept his little shard of it in DAI? In a crazy multi-layered vault! Also, Varric has a fragment of the idol. Actually, that reminds me of something! You can either let him keep that piece of the idol -or- have Sandal use his power to turn it into a (harmless) rune. Oooo... that's how we're going to save Thedas!! Sandal's going to use his power to remove the Blight from the idol (and all Red Lyrium connected to it)! seriously, DA4 better have the return of Sandal. DA:I definitely suffered from a SEVERE shortage of Sandal.

I wonder what this could be? Could it be a person or corpse corrupted and reanimated by those red lyrium growths? Looking at the background, it looks like it might be in the same area where we see that big tree with skeleton urns.

(seriously, did anyone actually LIKE NPC-Hawke in DAI?) He actually turned out almost exactly as I imagined he would after DA2's ending, all grouchy and at the end of his rope, in hiding, and hating blood mages. I guess the portrayal was bound to fit someone's Hawke. Same here mate! The only thing I didn’t like was trying to recreate my canon Hawke in DAI - to this day I haven’t gotten her right and it STILL bugs me!

The head is clearly a skull from how bleached white it is plus the jaw having no muscle or skin.

With the mappings being Human -> Hurlock Dwarf -> Genlock Elf -> Shriek Qunari -> Ogre And one of the big mysteries of the series was, why were there ogres in Thedas before the qunari supposedly arrived from the north?

Yeah, my canon Hawke always looked like she was wearing a badly fitted toupee. Other than the one Hawke, I just go for the default look because of that.

I just thought it was a red lyrium-corrupted darkspawn. Makes sense, yeah. Ordinary lyrium corrupts people (human, elf, whatever). Red lyrium has the Blight, darkspawn already have the Blight so the red lyrium should act on them in a similar manner to which ordinary lyrium acts on normal people. What fun. The scariest substance in Thedas further corrupting the most disgusting beings in Thedas.

Not Qunari, Kossith. Sorry, Heimdall, I just couldn't resist pointing this out. It is why the modern Qunari can't be said to be that different from Kossith or that Kossith were simply a group not a race. Ogres came from Kossith broodmothers. Whether they are still the ones birthing them or they have been replaced with modern qunari is anyone's guess (how long do darkspawn live?) but their appearance clearly hasn't changed much down the years, so that is the race the qunari derive from.
As an aside, why did they have to make the big grey giants so difficult to define by giving them potentially four different racial labels: Kossith; Qunari; Tal'Vashoth and Vashoth? Then add even more confusion by saying anyone who embraces the Qun is a Qunari? Unless you have only recently been converted, in which case you are viddathari, conquered and about to be converted so kabethari, or not yet conquered, Bas. Then they change the name of an ancient Tevinter city because people found it confusing! Get your priorities right.
