2. Even in Tevinter homosexuality is ok, as long as its behind closed doors and in public...you marry the girl. At least that's what Dorian's commentary indicated It's not even Dorian's comments that comes to my mind first regarding this issue, but Codex entry: Sexuality in Thedas: What I find most interesting is that, despite the lack of open discussion on matters of human sexuality, there is commonality to be found on the subject in all Andrastian lands. Typically, one's sexual habits are considered natural and separate from matters of procreation, and only among the nobility, where procreation involves issues of inheritance and the union of powerful families, is it considered of vital importance. Yet, even there, a noble who has done their duty to the family might be allowed to pursue their own sexual interests without raising eyebrows.
The view on indulging lusts with a member of the same gender varies from land to land. In Orlais, it is considered a quirk of character and nothing more. In Ferelden, it is a matter of scandal if done indiscreetly but otherwise nothing noteworthy. In Tevinter, it is considered selfish and deviant behavior among nobles, but actively encouraged with favored slaves. Nowhere is it forbidden, and sex of any kind is only considered worthy of judgment when taken to awful excess or performed in the public eye.

Breathe love, breathe
What? I like wolves.
(And kinda hate dracolisks. >_>)
same here...loving wolves that is...and dragons
though sad to say I hardly ever use mounts in games, or pets...I can't bear watching and hearing them get hurt

Maybe there's a widespread, prevailing opinion that slavery "isn't that bad" if the slaves are "treated well". I do not agree. I think the mere act of owning someone, stripping them of basic rights and freedoms and reducing them to "property" is a violation on par with, or even worse than rape.
I don't think anyone in our current world thinks that and I would be seriously concerned about their thinking if they did. However, in the ancient world it was widespread and up until fairly recently it was part of the social fabric of quite advanced, "civilised", nations. This is what they are basing their world and the arguments put forward by people like Dorian on. He and Maevaris might be presented as essentially good characters but that doesn't stop them having flaws, one of which is their attitude to slavery.
My view was that our PC should have been allowed to make a much more robust argument as to why Dorian was wrong to his face and then later in game Dorian admitting that he has thought about it and now acknowledges that the PC was right and he will never again keep slaves. That in fact was left to Solas. When Dorian starts trying to apologise for what Tevinter did to the elves, Solas makes the response that if he wishes to make amends for past transgressions (and he could either mean Tevinter or Dorian's own) he should free the slaves of all races that live in Tevinter today. When Dorian doesn't think he can do that, Solas responds "Then how sorry are you?"
I must admit it rather annoys me that Solas was given all the good arguments and then ultimately revealed to be no better and in fact a lot worse than the people he criticised. I suppose that is all part of the grey morality they are trying to display but it would be nice if just once a "good" character could champion an issue, like ending slavery, and left still essentially a hero at the end of things.

I suppose that is all part of the grey morality they are trying to display but it would be nice if just once a "good" character could champion an issue, like ending slavery, and left still essentially a hero at the end of things. Solas story is an example of how destroying the current power order for what is perceived a good cause isn't necessarily better long term. Which is why I'm totally uninterested in the slavery aspect of Tevinter being brought up as something players can change. It is ultimately pointless, you'll just change the slaves for servants who will be abused just as much (ask Orlesian servants and Ferelden wasn't any better with nobles like Vaughan). Or Tevinter will get toppled by the Qunari in a few years with their cheap labor destroyed (while the Qunari cheap labor was unaffected). Slavery isn't a cause, it's a symptom. A symptom of how power and riches can only be created if the cost is the lowest.

My superiority complex has been assuaged. Isn't Dragon King sort of an oxymoron? Shouldn't it be Dragon Queen? Or Drake Prince?

Isn't Dragon King sort of an oxymoron? How do you know there wasn't a Dragon King in the past? Just because all the Great Dragons and High Dragons are female now, doesn't mean there might not have been male dragons before. Hence Dragon King reborn.

Yes, I can imagine the howlings about such things but given how much fandom howls about things these days...not just this one but ALL fandom...I care little for their respective howling. As long as A. I like it B. Its executed well and C. there is set up for it. Well, the bad news is, Bioware's not going to turn a profit if you're the only one who buys a copy... I was just poking fun at your comment to Colfoley

One thing that stood out is that she said the blonde girl in the pic below is a crow. She does look like she has crow-style armor.
Perhaps people are assuming too much about that armour. May be it is a style that is common in the north, that is associated with a particular specialism, rather than specifically Crow. Either that or the concept for the Crow companion changed a lot. After all there are various candidates that have been identified. If the fair haired woman is a Crow then what is the dark haired guy on the left? There is also the red haired lady in a mask that seems to scream Crow, although we have never seen a Crow in such a mask before. She is wielding a rapier, which would seem a suitably light-weight weapon for someone who tends to focus on stealth and speed. The fair haired woman seems to be a two-handed warrior. That doesn't seem to go with the concept art for the person taking a breather, which seems hinting at a Crow and has a curved sword and two daggers or the eight-person shot where the assassin type figure on the right, between gunlaw and tall guy, seems to have a rapier again.
So my initial reaction is that the fair haired figure is not a Crow but could be concept art for the PC in Crow-type armour.

More of higher quality concept art, this time "Alley" I can’t tell whether the qunari in the back is donning or doffing that helmet, but either answer is funny. Donning: let me stare directly to camera while I finish getting dressed midway through a dungeonDoffing: whoops, just realized that the mage snuffing all the torches makes everything really dark inside this helmet

We have: - Fake!Inquisitor (no red sash with his Inquisitor armor) - Fake!Harding (she's pretend to be a dwarf) - Fake!Iron Bull (putting the helmet on to hide he's not missing an eye) - Calpernia (the real one, could be pretending to be Vivienne with that haughty look somehow) The most interesting part of this image is the two "Venatori guards" and the "Magister Sideral" on the right side...and that the architecture looks dwarven.

More of higher quality concept art, this time "Alley" also, isn't it strange that a door is at the corner of a building? How would that even work? (guard wise) Very cool concept though, it's so intriguing (honestly, I am in awe of Matt Rhode's artistry).

(the ones we fight in trespasser all have horns and helmets, and Arvaraad in DA2 also have horns and helmets)
might also be an infiltration choice...I mean, if he had bright colorful paint all over his body, he'd be easy to spot...if he's just grey they can't see him against the stone

I mused about this as well, now that we see more of him, I'd say he comes across as more of a bulky tevinter warrior.
