The exploration and combat of this game is so God of War 2018 it hurts.
Building magical bridges and looting useless crap while two people talk as you wander around. lol, I've experienced this in Alfheim before Bioware, just saying. Except Mimir had more interesting things to say.

Some more very endgame spoilers about the good ending so I initially saw the bad ending and theorized that in the good ending there might be a way to redeem Solas. After watching the good ending I thought I was wrong. But in the version of the good ending I watched this part didn't happen:
So it seems the inquisitor can't fix him but apparently he can make her worse lmao

BG3 is at 61k right now, and that's a AA game that's been out for over a year. 70K for a AAA new release can't be that impressive. I say this as an objective observer That Jason Schreier, the guy with a lot of contacts in the industry, is currently going on a borderline unhinged rant about how sale numbers don't equal profit (which in the realm of microtransactions is true but Veilguard has little of these, and the only other ways are ... shady, like Ubisoft's subscription), implies to me that numbers are low. But we'll see I guess I'd check and see how well it's doing in a week or two one the new & shiny has worn off a bit.

I think at this point even people who like this game have to admit this is not our company, it's a weird mutation that butchered our company and wears its face as a mask What makes it worse, is to this DAY! I remember the 400 page thread about "Why did Loghain do it?" and Mr Gaider even weighed in, and described the independent thought process Loghain had leading up to the moment in question. Weighing the pros and cons, his feelings for Maric and Rowan against his hatred of Orlais and in his mind the betrayal of Cailen. How he had thought about it all day leading to the battle, and hadn't truly decided until he saw the Signal fire go off.
And how the FUCK can Cory be in ANYWAY part of this "plan"? How does that even make sense!? He is straight up GIVEN THE ORB! BY SOLAS!

Literal middle school level fan fiction writing. Actually, I take that back. I've actually read a couple Fanfictions better than this! Dont want to make you rage even more (rightly so btw), but am I wrong, or didnt "Those across the sea" tell the Inquisitior to keep fighting Cory as they agreed with that course of action? So... they orchestrated it but immediatly after they wanted to put a stop to it. What?
The executors could have been a nice addition to the mess that is Thedas, instead its just going to be used as hooded boogeyman stringmaster to insert whatever they want in next instalments without the need to actually work on something interesting and creative and with no attachments to the past.
I think I understand now. Veilguard is just a setup to destroy everything that came before. South Thedas is pretty much "burned" to ground now right? Minrathous and Treviso blighted. Anderfells too. FreeMarches aswell. Old gods/Blight/Evanuris plots - dealt with! Dunno about the Titans yet havent seen any footage on that. But i guess thats resolved in this game too. Well, i guess now Bioware is free to let their creative juices flow and make the BEST POSSIBLE EVER Dragon Age in the next instalment...

There have been warnings before. If posters are incapable of keeping spoilers in check we need to take more drastic measures. I've removed around 3 pages from when it appears that a game ending spoiler discussion broke out with untagged spoilers. This thread is locked until we sort this mess out and get a few moderators together to confer.  That's going to take at least 24hrs. [EDIT]. Morning arrives and some beefed up processes are being drafted. As moderators live in different time-zones, they will need to have some time to see, review, and reach consensus before we post them and unlock. |

GAME LAUNCH INFORMATION FOR THE SKEPTICISM/CRITICISM THREAD - Yesterday, end game spoilers were openly posted in this thread. Whether by bad faith or rank carelessness, that can't happen. We didn't even make it out of launch day FFS.
- I realise many visitors to this thread have scant regard for BioWare or the game (personal opinions), but people come to this thread in good faith to discuss their concerns and criticisms, as well as many guest visitors. They cannot be casually spoiled.
- Those who were posting end game spoilers yesterday have dodged a ban bullet as none of the moderators feel particularly inclined to wade through the removed section to see who said what. I caught a half-glimpse of something myself and I can't say I was enthused by the experience.
- The moderators are a pretty united bunch. Having space for critics to be critical on BSN is seen (on balance) to be important to us. Events like this is not helping that consensus one little bit.
Effective today - For a period of time post launch, discussion of end game spoilers and end of act spoilers, tagged or not, will be restricted to specific story threads designed for the purpose and then under spoiler tag. This will be a forum-wide rule.
- Sharing end game or end act spoilers maliciously or ineptly will result in forum bans of severity to be determined by the case, but may include perma-ban.
- Such offences will be accompanied by thread-lock of increasing length (this is 'strike one' for the Skepticism/Criticism thread')
You may discuss end of act spoilers (under tag) in the Story threads: You may discuss end of game spoilers (under tag) in the Act 3 Story thread: Most players will reach those threads having played the game and will discover those spoilers organically. That's it I think. The thread is open. Please take care with what is being posted.  |

I have been watching some scenes and Rook's male VA is actually really good (way better than Inquisitions male VA which was rather emotionless and bland). So its a shame that we can only be a hero, I think the VA could deliver on more ruthless moments and it would be impactful like with Shepard or Hawke.

Oh yay, we are so back! Nothing really to add at this point, but it seems the Dragon Age subreddit is also starting to show some light cracks in their overall optimism. Though people are still playing the first act, so who knows how the tides will shift, if they do at all.

I can't say I'm happy about the collective punishment approach, but I get it and I don't have a better idea...
I do think it is very good that mods allowed us this space to say whatever we want, without people snapping at us and without us being hurtful to other people, intentionally or not.
With that being said, I'm staying with a friend who bought this game to play (I honestly think she made a mistake buying it now since she is a very fresh mother, so she takes care of the baby while I play her computer. Friend of the year TM)
Anyway, I think it's much better than I thought it would be. It's not saying much since my expectations were lower than the dead sea but still, fair is fair and I'm having fun
