Yeah, she was the first thing I noticed about new art. I really like that mask of hers, though whenever I see it, I can't help but be reminded of that one Orlesian concept art

She like Morrigan, Leliana and Vivienne merged together to become Zorro! She looks amazing but how exactly does she see where she is going? There are no obvious eye slits. An Orlesian courtier might be able to get away with just looking at her feet but this lady is doing sword play and shooting arrows.

An Orlesian courtier might be able to get away with just looking at her feet but this lady is doing sword play and shooting arrows. I was imagining the mask to be made of a mesh-like material. Or maybe it's imbued with magic and acts like nightvision goggles to detect stealthily hidden opponents. I think the masks are a really cool and memorable concept. as a sidenote I've always thought it would be interesting to have a blind companion, especially when there has been so much focus on eyes since TN.

That said, I’ll wait to see if there’s some explanation for Crow Lady. Perhaps, though they never had anything that hampered them as fighters (other than lack of armor, but Varric can rectify this in DAI) unlike in this if the concept art goes to the final game. Then it’s like ME2 where “Sure I can have a gunfight in the middle of a vacuum while being topless because cool”. I mean, between Varric and Isabela, I think the ship sailed a long time ago. That said, I’ll wait to see if there’s some explanation for Crow Lady. Sailed, wrecked and sunk to the bottom of the ocean... and I'm okay with that.

Her clothes actually look a lot like the ones in The Wake's art: Though that would imply that person is Teia and I'm not sure I'm willing to entertain that idea.

Wrong hair and skin color to be Teia. Wouldn't be the first time Bioware white-washed a character coming from books to the games though (looking at Fiona and especially Briala here ).

My post was just meant to say that BioWare going for the rule of cool already happened. I like both Varric and Isabela quite a lot. Hanako Ikezawa : their outfits are still not practical for combat. Putting them aside, DA2 introduced half naked qunari as well. Even if those aren’t impairing as her mask, and Varric and a Bull can wear more practical outfits and armours, BioWare still went for something that looked cooler or sexier in past games, above lore reasoning. I do agree that Lady Crow’s mask is worse in the sense that it’d be blocking her sight, so it’d harder to put aside compared to the things I mentioned. If there won’t be some explanation for how she can see (if she’s in the game) I’m going to point it it out, but I still want to wait and see if there’s one.

Though that would imply that person is Teia and I'm not sure I'm willing to entertain that idea. As Hanako says this lady looks completely different from the Teia of the comics. Also she is now a Talon (I'm not sure how recent this was because it seems unlikely a Talon would be have been up in Ventus on what seemed a minor mission) and is sweet on another Talon in Viago, hence him doing her biding in the Wake, so that would complicate issues for her being a companion. To be honest, regardless of how she was used in the comics, it seems unlikely any Talon is going to be out in the field beyond Antiva, particularly when they feel under threat of Qunari invasion. So this Crow lady is far more likely an as yet unknown character, possibly a master assassin but not higher than that.

A couple were. The rest were awful. Really, I thought most people considered ME2 to have the best cast in the trilogy?
Besides Jacob and Morinth, the rest of the cast was pretty solid all round.
The only grumble I have is that Kasumi and Zaeed should have been integrated more and that both Tali and Legion should have been available earlier in the game (especially since there is cut dialogue for Legion that hints we were supposed to get him earlier).

I think not wearing a helmet in space is ridiculous and only happened due to the rush that was Andromeda
I think wearing a bikini suit in a cold area that literally has a mechanic where it's so cold you'll die is stupid and all companions should have gotten real all terrain suits like the protagonist.
I like calling the veilfire head Bael. At least it sounds like a name.

Can't biotics create barriers capable of maintaining atmospheric pressure in a vaccuum though? The characters with outfits that are exposed to space seem to always be biotics, so maybe that's meant to be the handwave?
Not that I don't agree that it's ridiculous to have people not wearing a hardsuit or helmet in space or other extreme environments.

I agree. My first thought was that her mask is probably similar to gat hats which have a crown made of horsehair and a brim made of thinly cut wooden threads woven into a lattice-like pattern. I guess a wooden frame covered with silk could also work when making a see-through mask. 🤔 A modern interpretation of a gat hat

What happened to Leggy? Could still be waiting in the wings. After all even if the characters in the new artwork are companions that makes only three, one from each class, two male and one female. So to balance things you'd need at least one female mage, a male rogue and a female warrior.
