1) Rule number one: There can be no good Slytherin. Speaking of which... JRK apparently does not like if some of her fans interpret her writing differently than she does. Of course, some fans are weird, but apparently she called Draco irredeemable at one point. Sure, he's an ass, but it was JKR herself who gave him more nuance and actual development in the HBP. At least Newt is not a Gryffindor. 2) I mostly get my ideas from watching, but that does not mean I'll adopt all games I see. Like I'm too dumb to play platformers, so PoP and Tomb Raider are reduced to films. I suppose that you two got Skyrim back in 2011?
1) psh...what about Regulus and Slughorn then?
anyways I've gone to just ignore everything she (JK) writes and just keep my love of the series itself. I mean, at one point she apparently tweeted the Hufflepuffs have orgies in the common room...I was like, WTF?! plus a lot of other crazy stuff...but as I said, I just ignore everything she wrote that came after the books. 2) yeah we did...he's the one that told me to get Oblivion back in the day as well, we shared that game back then which was quite annoying I remember one time I accidentally saved over one of his saves and he had to redo the entire game (seeing as we both used one save slot each) 1) Heh, Slughorn is pretty much a quintessential Slytherin without just being focused on the whole blood crap. He is a casual ass towards Hermione regarding that, but changes quickly when reminded of Lily and seeing Hermione's capabilities. But yeah, shame on me for forgetting these two. It is just like the "House of Evil" and ASP's "What if I become a Slytherin?" that overshadows them and shows how shitty the house system is. That's why I said I'd go Hufflepuff, 'ol Helga doesn't care, in a positive sense.
Yeah, I also do that these days. My friend dislikes DH and how JKR handled Snape (killing him off without having a chance of serious talk with Harry) and I'm not fond of these people who like beating others over the head with the "JK said it!!!"/"It's canon!!!!!" club.
Ugh, I did not know that. I just remember that thing about wizards not using toilets until late, shitting everywhere and then making it "disappear" via Trasnfiguration magic (I don't know what the word for the opposite of conjure is). That accompanied with ideas of how everything conjured/"made disappear" goes into the same "pool" of matter. Too.Much.Information. Some of her more "british" jokes in the books were good, but I'm not one for crude fecal humor.
2) I played DAI on my friend's PC as my old Laptop would have never survived it. Oh, and my friend "killed" my first incarnation of my Adaar and Cadash in a similar way. It was not due to DAI's stupid save limit, but because she thought they were just meant for testing things out (you know, that habit of making characters and then dropping them...). My fault for failure to communicate.

(I mean, I'm all for inclusion and diversity...but some of those fans go a bit far) and yeah, that's why I also love Hufflepuff, she's like "meh, everyone matters...come join my club" plus the common room is near the kitchens...midnight snacks
2) lol, yeah...I know that feel though as I said my brother and I eventually got our own computer...much less stress that way but that also sadly meant the end to us talking about games together...ah well

2) he was a bit mad at me, but turned out he'd wanted to restart the game anyway, he was just mad I'd accidentally deleted his past playthrough we also learned to make back-ups after that , we still love each other and make fun of one another at times, but we kinda don't connect much anymore anyway (he's currently 30 and I'm 28)
most of which has to do with the fact he has copying behavior (aka. copies behavior and opinions of others...which can get rather heated at times)

Don't nab too much, else Dobby might get pissed. 1) Her comments have always been a bit "out there", even back before 6 and 7 were released. Some of it came off as her pandering to fanfic writers. I was on the fandom before 7 was realesed in german, but after the orignal english release and my exposure to "word of JRK" comments was limited. I'm genuinely curious; do you know what she said? She does not come across as someone who's fond of other's interpretations of her characters.

A lot came off as platitudes, the other half as "ideas that would never get pass the editors". I remember some fanfic writers crapping on other fanfic writers because what they were writing was not accurate based on JRK's words. She does come off as "possessive of her creations". But the English fandom was shipper wars crazy so I didn't hang out there too much...and by crazy, I mean there was some doxing that happened.

There's a reason why - even in my HP fandom prime - I only joined one small HP forum, and it was basically rping forum with only minor talk about events and characters from books, more focused on dissecting the world building (mostly for rp purposes)

person 1: I wonder what's going on at Hogwarts these days person 2: education probably, since Harry no longer goes there
I remember back in middle school there was also this time when Twilight came out...so most girls were Team Edward/Jacob one time some girl asked me (rather nastily) "what team I was on", and me in a sudden snark moment answered "Team Harry Potter", that shut her right up

This has been the type of HP game I've wanted ever since I was a child, the closest thing thats come to it is the Hogwarts mystery mobile game. Shame JKR's such a shit. On the trailer and informations, it seems to have confirmed a lost of leaks in the past, not only the ones directly after the leaked trailer but some that were posted later, which mentioned the 5th student that was ‘discovered’ as a mage later then usual. Other then likely limiting the aumont of background, I don’t much like the fact that we’re a late-entry student, expecially because I don’t see how it’d work in the plot, since by the informations out in the site it seems we’d quickly become quite powerful. I know that the PC is going to have a special power (another think I don’t personally love), but that doesn’t mean he/she would become that powerful in the manner of months. I do understand why they did this, however, as having the PC as a first year would’ve not fit thematically with the game, and as a 5th established already in the school you’d have miss the Sorting and bonding with characters you’d have already knew. I hope the game finds a good balance between combat, story and the experience of living in Hogwarts, although from the trailer I’d say they did that. Hmm I was hoping that you started at Hogwarts at a later age due to being a transfer from another magical school (eg beauxbatons, durmstrang, castelobruxo, mahoutokoro). This would allow you to be an older student who already had knowledge of magic but still be new to Hogwarts and getting sorted into a house for the first time. I hope that it's not that your joining the magical world late trying to be a fifth year despite only just receiving a wand, and then being able to pick up four years of magical training insta fast because you're so special. Hopefully it will turn out you were 'discovered' later then usual because you're parents/guardian kept you away and home schooled you or something. Took the quiz again myself, was curious to see what i would get since the website sorted me into slytherin the first time and then when they redesigned/relaunched it and made us take it again it put me in hufflepuff ( i guess i answered differently the 2nd time? Or they changed the quiz). This time? Hufflepuff 86%Gryffindor 66% Slytherin 58% Ravenclaw 28% Still very much Hufflepuff, which since i think they're the house with the best values I'm cool with, but a decent amount of slytherin in there, bigger Gryffindor % then i expected.

The Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Magic came into effect in 1875, maybe the game is set right after it comes into effect and you are forced to go to school.

If my memory of the old leak is reliable, I think that’s the exact justification used. EDIT: I actually think the justification might have been wizard home schooling before Hogwarts, but the idea is still the same. The protagonist is New to Hogwarts but not new to magic.

I scored absurdly high on Gryfinndor... With Ravenclaw coming in a distant second. Local firefighter annoyed by own squared-ness, news at 11.
IF I WAS A WIZARD, I'd want to be in Duane's series... But honestly, I am all about any RPG with a character creator, decent story, and ideally, cinematic qualities, and this looks like all of the above. It's on my radar.

This is the type of HP game everybody has wanted since they were children, at least if it delivers on its promises. A bunch of years ago I remember trying to look into why there were no Harry Potter pen-and-paper games in the works, since the setting would lend itself pretty brilliantly to that, and coming to the conclusion that JK has just been really stingy with her IP and distrustful of the idea of 'non-canon' content. Which did sour me on her a little bit. The Hogwarts Mystery mobile game being what it was didn't help. And sure. Based on the student names and descriptions you hear in the books, Hogwarts students can't even represent all the magical children born in Britain alone. There have to be several smaller and/or less impressive schools we never hear about in Ireland and Wales. And considering how archaic their society is, there's probably a strong master-apprentice tradition outside the 'public' school system, as well as home-schooling for those who can afford it. Plenty of justification for a 16-17 year-old wizard who hasn't gone to Hogwarts before transferring in. That said, it's just as plausible that magical education simply worked differently wherever they came from, such as not being neatly categorized into Charms and Transfiguration and whatnot, and that they really will have a bunch of catching up to do to adapt to Hogwarts' and the Ministry's standards. And that they might do that quickly, thanks to being older, stronger, more mature and more experienced than wizarding children working through the material as younger teens. But yeah, hopefully no super-special mary sue parselmouth metamorphmagus animagus half-veela half-giant seer protagtonists. Just ordinary wizards who have to excel at and kick ass with spells, please and thank you. Your sorting looks like a good spread. Hufflepuff rules, obviously. Hard work kicks bravery's and intelligence's asses nine times out of ten in ordinary life, especially when combined with a little bit of ambition. Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin and Ravenclaw in that order seems like a good recipe for health, happiness and success. Which website is that?

Here you go... ^ You can't retake it on the official site if you've done it once (I already tried that some time back) but I found a site where they remade it, and it's pretty accurate ^^ (aka. I still get Hufflepuff) linkit has all the official questions and answers, give it a go ^^

Fuck. Slytherin. I was trying for Hufflepuff. So it choose properly...you were trying to game the system to appear as something else.

So it choose probably...you were trying to game the system to appear as something else. Not trying to appear. Just wishing, I guess. Hmm. I suppose you could say ambition is important to me because I want to be in a good place to support my family and friends, and because I want my kids to see that it pays to work at getting somewhere with your life. And I certainly enjoy being better off than we were when I was a child. Doesn't feel very Slytherin, but... And yeah, sure, I can be a smug prick when the occasion calls for it. And I'll happily throw an objectively lesser species under the bus to save my own people.

On the main page it cycles between: -The Slytherin Who Soars With Hippogriffs -The One Who Defies Dragons -The Gryffindor Who Grappled With Graphorns -The Befriender of Beasts -The Ravenclaw Who Dared To Discover -The Potioner Who Mixes With Precision -The Hufflepuff Who Mastered Herbology
And the faq has this
A companion list perhaps?

A companion list perhaps? Maybe? If so, I'm really interested in The One Who Defies Dragons.

Game awards trailer has a hand holding a wand for like half a second in it at 1:59, maybe a new Hogwarts legacy trailer incoming?
