KOTOR was my first RPG and bioware game so i'll always have love for it. Though I feel that KOTOR 2 is better.

This was the game that got me interested in Bioware games. The story was good, the characters were interesting and I actually liked the gameplay (I played on console). I thought Jade Empire and Mass Effect 1 were more clunky gameplay wise

KotOR 2 has a mod that restores much lost content. I reccomend it, since it effectively changes the game (and much for the Better).
KotOR 2 is not available for the Ipad, that I could find.

I've been playing KotOR on iPad for several hours, today. I bought it after discussing it a few days ago (see upthread). Bad News : I've encountered a game-breaking bug immediately after leaving the Black Vulkars' base. I cannot interact with NPCs, no matter what I do. There seems to be no way to "reset" or correct the glitch. It sucks mightily, since this is about 4 hours into the game (this time around). (See EDIT below.) I did research before purchasing, and saw only positive reviews. Now, with a specific bug to research, I learn this is in fact a known issue. They need to get this fixed. Sigh. Good News: It's a very good, faithful adaptation of the original. It was easy to adapt to the iPad control layout. (The auto-run feature is a great thing!) Other than my tendency to occasionally trigger conversations I had no intention of triggering, as I spin the camera about, I have no issues with the controls. (My propensity for triggering superfluous conversations makes this bug painfully ironic.) EDIT: The bug wasn't so game-breaking as I'd feared. I tried my one last idea, that now seems so obvious that I'm not sure why I didn't do it sooner. I closed the app and reloaded my save. All is well. It's not game-breaking, just annoying.

I had no idea that Kreia was so popular. I was quite surprised. I mean, why would you want to talk to that old bat when KOTOR 1 already had Jolee Bindo in the 'wise, old mentor' role. I really like Jolee: one of the only Star Wars characters to not have a stupid Expanded Universe story that makes the character worse. Well she is not popular to me. And i agree with you who wants to talk to that woman i really do not like Kreia always snooping around in my head. No i did not like her at all not even from the start of the game.

One of my favorite things about the game is that you start you off as a weakling but by the end game you're incomparably powerful if you play your cards right. It gives the player this feel of serious progression over the course of the game.

KOTOR 1 (pc) - I. LOVE,. THIS. GAME! KOTOR 2 (pc) - Eh. You're not the only one. Lots of people rave about KOTOR 2 and I couldn't stand it. It was a struggle to finish for me. I think just about everything rubbed me wrong about it. I literally liked none of the companions. Heh. For me, it was obvious that it wasn't a Bioware game, and not in a way that felt like a progression or a follow up story. It was a game set in the SW universe, but it wasn't KOTOR to me.

I feel the same way. It feels un-Star Wars-y, a bit dull, the characters aren't really that great, and they went a bit overboard for the villains, and it's like the writers are acting like a kid bragging about the character they made up: "He can't be killed, and can drain the force from people, and can consume entire planets of life, and also he wins at the universe."
I sort of feel the same way about KotOR 2 in the same way as Mass Effect 2, as I can't help but not share the enthusiasm that lots of people do. Like when they say the companions are better and more interesting, I can't help but think, "What?"

I liked KoTOR 2, but the start of it is pretty horrible. Between Peragus and Telos, it drags on for freaking ever before you get your damn ship.

I liked both games but I think Kotor 2 suffered from some story and pacing problems. As others have said, the beginning dragged on. The end was just incomplete and disappointing. However, I thought they made some good game play improvements over the original. I played both games several times.

I wish I could cheat KOTOR 2 to jumpstart the beginning of the game.. But alas, Window 10 doesn't allow modding of games unless it's on the mod manager, lol.

Love Kotor. Mission Vao was one of my favorite companions. Catherine Taber did such an excellent job as her voice actress. Love her also in Swtor voicing Vette.

I loved both Kotor & Kotor 2 but now I'm waiting patiently for SWTOR to finally die off then maybe B-Ware/EA will finally get their **** together and make Kotor 3.Hell heres an idea for you HD Remasters for both Kotor 1&2 I'm sure alot of disgruntled Console fans would buy them I know I would.

It is indeed! The Sith Stalker I scripted for J7's excellent model was a fun bit of modding. Google my name and Sith Stalker if you are curious... My GF is the VO actress lol. Do not use my version of the hardcore mod. It does nothing, and I never had a chance to remove it from FF, and now it is out there all over the place. I still mod this game.... Just very slowly

Love KOTOR, as you guys can tell by my avatar. KOTOR was one of my first RPGs and one of my first Xbox games, so it had a pretty big impact on me. I was seven or eight when I first played it, barely old enough to read. Back then, KOTOR appeared as massive to me as an entire universe. Just Taris was a maze to navigate, but I still love that planet to bits. My mind was blown on multiple occasions with the amazing storytelling. The biggest moment was obviously when you find out you are Revan. I was just sitting on the couch all confused, and then started running around excitedly when I realized the gravity of that revelation. I personally don't find the combat to be clunky at all, but maybe its just because I've gotten use to it. I never understood the dice roll mechanic behind attacks, so I just spammed whatever ability was available. Even on hard, I find the gameplay quite enjoyable, especially if you plan the proper build. I personally enjoyed rolling with a Scout/Consular build, and by the end of the game, I would just be spamming Force Wave and knocking everyone down permanently. Felt good to be powerful! I loved playing around with the inventory system trying to maximize your stats. It's certainly a deeper system than more recent Bioware games, and one I would appreciate making a return in some form. But in the end, I will always remember KOTOR for its soundtrack. Almost every track is memorable, from the hideout on Taris to Ahto City on Manaan, I still regularly listen to it. It makes the game for me

AH! KOTOR! I've always kept the original box in a safe place, and cherish it like a gold bar. The simple view of the front cover gives me the same feeling as at the beginning. It was that kind of game I was waiting for, since Jedi Knight DFII, with more realistic exteriors , better interaction with pnjs. Lots of Travels inside the Star Wars universe that only such a game allows us to discover. Bioware did it! From Dantooine rolling plains, to the deep forest of Kashyyyk, it always carries me in delicious dreams. And Hk-47 and his scouring humour... Kotor II was good, but looks more strange too, less manichean, less easy to apprehend. I liked Dxun episode, Bao-Dur, Visas Marr and her swing from one side to the other, she had a certain amount of frankness, candour. (not like kreia) The end was too evasive. I don't like MMORPG, so I'm waiting for a KOTOR III...ZZzzzzzz
