I never came close to running out on any of my non infiltrator runs. I only play on insanity, does more ammo drop on insanity? I'd like to add my 2 cents to the thread. I prefer the way guns were in ME1. Yes - the top end Specter Master Gear where you had guns that were devastatingly powerful and could be made to fire pretty much indefinitely. This is supposed to be the future, and I really liked the futuristic space guns and armors - especially the Spectre Master Works guns, Predator and Colossus series armors, as well as the other top of the line Biotic Amps and Omni tools. I liked being able to customize my entire squad down to the finest detail. I thought that the introduction of Thermal Clips was a copout - because they work exactly like magazines. Part of what made Mass Effect was the space age guns - I am not sure why we went off and appeased the "call of duty" crowd that BioWare likes to plagiarize for. In ME3 we have biotic cooldowns getting encumbered because we carried and extra gun or two? Does that even make sense? Whatever happened to grenades in ME2 and 3? Am I just brain-farting here? Granted, I only played ME3 SP once - so I may be missing some experience in that category - I know we have 'nades in MP. Lastly, I would like to bring up elevators. Modern hardware should be able to handle much bigger maps without these loading screens and the need for terribly huge elevator rides. For instance, I despise *That* elevator in ME1. I'd like to be able to complete a mission, and go talk to every one and sell all of the junk I collected in one fell swoop. The rest of the elevators did not bother me - just the one in the SR1. They should be able to use the incredible power of modern graphics cards and their huge amounts of RAM - or at least the full capabilities of next gen consoles.

In ME3 we have biotic cooldowns getting encumbered because we carried and extra gun or two? Does that even make sense? To me it does. Weight wears on the user's concentration and physical/mental capacity. Don't believe me? Try running a mile as fast as you can. Wait a week so you're well rested, and run that same mile with a backpack full of books. I fully agree on the downgrade of the tech though. It seemed unnecessary. Whatever happened to grenades in ME2 and 3? Am I just brain-farting here? Granted, I only played ME3 SP once - so I may be missing some experience in that category - I know we have 'nades in MP. Grenades are a 'power' since ME2. Iirc, ME2 had only inferno grenades and got flashbangs with the Kasumi DLC. ME3 introduced a bunch of grenades like Lift Grenades. And stuff like trip mines also fall under grenades. For both games, grenades are class specific, meaning, you'd have to use them as the bonus power to get them if your class didn't have it by default.

The crew and squad do not know how badly damaged the Citadel is since they left before the wave did it's thing. So, who informed them that Anderson and Shepard were dead? If they're assuming both are dead, then why is the nameplate not being put up, if ems is high enough. Why don't they not put up the nameplate for all endings until they have confirmation Shepard is dead? Could be Hackett if the QEC is still functional (and it is if Bio wants it to be). How he'd know what happened is another matter. My preferred assumption is that a fair amount of time has passed between when Shepard activates the Crucible and when we see the Normandy crew having the nameplate ceremony. They do seem to have crash-landed, so it might take a little while for the Normandy to be ready to take off again, and in the meantime Hackett might have communicated with whoever is still alive on the Citadel. Also, if this is a Control or Synthesis scenario, then quite possibly the Reapers know what happened and inform everybody once they're no longer hostile - we know they're capable of communicating directly with organics and other synthetics.

I liked being able to customize my entire squad down to the finest detail. I will add 3 cents. I agree with you about being able to customize as much as possible in the game. I liked the combat. The only thing I can say that was bad was the crouching. Maybe that is one of the things that will be different when the remaster releases. Here's what Conrad says about thermal clips It does make sense. Do a test. Run from one spot to another. You will likely be huffing and puffing for however long. Now add some weight. You will be huffing and puffing for a longer time. When I play as a biotic in ME3, my Shepard only carries a weapon that keeps the cooldown at the max. Ah yes. elevators. It would be nice if in the remaster Bioware adds music, like Ozzy, Iron maiden, Van Halen, for my Shepard to listen to while riding up and down.

The big one for me is remove the aluminum pathways stamped over organics in the synthesis ending...in no way is this how that would work. It's just super dumb.

I have been thinking about this and I think the biggest thing that I think that could get added because of the scope BioWare has pointed out being mostly a visual upgrade would be.
1) Repairing any import issue. Such as Conrad Vernor in Mass Effect 2.
2) Mass Effect 1 inventory management. I would be fine with just having a "pick up all as omni-gel" button or a "sell all to vendor" button.
edit:
3) I doubt this is possible, but fixing the clipping bugs in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. With Mass Effect 2 when you hit a wall you keep going up to the ceiling and being stuck in the cockpit of the Normandy and the same Normandy cockpit bug in Mass Effect 3.

I have never encountered 3. It's there, at least on PC. I'm sure it is, just never bumped into it and I've put in well over 1000 hours between the 2 games on pc. I just suspect its a pretty rare encounter bug.

The big one for me is remove the aluminum pathways stamped over organics in the synthesis ending...in no way is this how that would work. It's just super dumb. Agreed. Super tacky. Should've just left it to the eyes. A hint of a synthetic glow and done. I've never encountered this before either. How strange. --- As someone who gay romanced Kaidan, I obviously wouldn't be opposed to having male Shepard be open to flirting and doing things with him like Fem Shep can in ME1 now that the world isn't as homophobic. Also, in ME3 there's some audio clipping, especially in the Citadel DLC. Shepard and/or the LI will be about to say something and then are cut off. Happens only three or so times, but it had me reload saves to try and catch the dialogue before it cuts out.

I'd like FemShep's phone call with Hannah in the Citadel DLC to include the entire conversation.
I'd also like the blurb on the box to say that the player can choose to be a male or female Shepard.

They should be able to use the incredible power of modern graphics cards and their huge amounts of RAM - or at least the full capabilities of next gen consoles. Well, if they’re going to make a shooter, the actual shooting itself needs to be engaging, and really, the only way to do that would be to make more detailed audio profiles and handling characteristics of the numerous weapons we can loot, something ME1 utterly failed at. The crass, raspy firing sounds lacked impact, and for the most part, you were just pointing in the general direction of a target and it might go down faster depending on your stats, but this was a principle that worked better with Dragon Age’s medieval weapons. With the way guns performed, the actual amount of variety we had didn’t make much sense. Guns within each archetype were basically stat sticks that all felt identical. Frankly, I found ME1’s gunplay simply lacking in much needed fun factor, and that was exacerbated by the class-based weapons restrictions, which is never something I can advocate for in a shooter. I do think they should bring back grenades as a proper consumable weapon item. I never understood why it was reduced to an ability for specific classes.

I learned to mostly stay away from that portion of the cockpit, to not get trapped. But sometimes I would forget.
In early runs, I ended up reloading the last save, but later, I learned to twist and turn Shepard and eventually break free.
Very annoying.

It would be nice if M!Shep could romance Kaidan already in ME1. Or at least have some flirty dialogue that indicates there's something more than friendship between them.

Since it's going to be a mostly graphical update I would like to see the Conrad bug from ME1 fixed that if you're nice to him he doesn't call Shepard a "real jerk" in ME2. And IIRC didn't BioWare record a line where he calls Shepard a "real hero" (or something like that) and you can keep the apology he says in ME3 due his being "really stressed out" (or something to that effect) since it makes sense that a man who is cosplaying at being a bad ass super spy would be stressed out. Even as a paragon I would still shoot him in the foot though in the bar in ME2 though.

Small changes, that recently came to my mind: if the upgrades are mostly cosmetical, a nice way to add something for us old schoolers would be a new difficulty mode. Platinum for single player to provide a challenge for those that have played the trilogy over and over.
Little game play changes I would like are the abilty to change shooting hands on the fly like in Andromeda or to add every power as bonus power for a litlle more mix and match ability.
