Sheploo looks like a Drag Queen that forgot to remove the make up the next morning and showed up to work. Rather specific, I know. As for Ashley, her face looks tired. And badly lit. These models are imperfect. They served their purpose at the time and lighting to compensate for those witnesses was applied. Now, it's all way too fucking bright and every blemish is 10x more prominent. BTW, have you seen what happened to Karin? Are we serious, right now? I can’t see that picture. I guess they ported her ME3 model to ME/ME2? I recall not liking one, but I don’t recall in which game. I don’t have a 4K monitor, so I don’t know if looking at Sheploo on my phone or laptop is different, but outside of the first pic they shown months ago, I don’t think he looks bad, at all. And ME2 kept his original model, from what I saw. Some browsers have problems with imgur links on proboards, but the pics are there. If you press quote and switch to BB code, you will see the link. Or maybe use a different browser?

Honestly, I don't think it's that bad. Anderson is far worse, in comparison.

I think the picture of Ashley in armour looks better in the LE...but she looks quite worse in the other picture you shown. Not sure what the hell happened in ME3 Shep, but I think it's more of a lighting issue, not a model issue.

I think the picture of Ashley in armour looks better in the LE...but she looks quite worse in the other picture you shown. Not sure what the hell happened in ME3 Shep, but I think it's more of a lighting issue, not a model issue. I think it's both. "Tweaked" models for games that looked different and all had some kind of filter, ME2 an orange one, ME3 a blue one and it doesn't mesh well with the "ultra bright" lighting they went with in ME1. Sheploo looks far fucking worse. All that fucking eye-liner is all that I can see. I'll take Miranda's ass more seriously than a single shot of Sheploo's face. In fact, I want someone to hack Sheploo's face to Miranda's ass. Then I might be able to finally play the fucking game. But we're not getting mods, because Bioware made the games unmodable and they're not releasing any fucking modding tools at all, in spite of what they had been saying, months ago, about working closely with the modding scene. Maybe Skyrim's modding scene, but definitely not ME's.

He does look better, to me, then the original version, and I didn't notice the eye-liner as I did in the promotional picture. Maybe it's a matter of resolution? I don't know. The shot you posted about ME3 looks definitely worse. I can't say the same for ME2 LE, for the little I saw. But I'll check it for myself. I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy the game, but I got it as a belated gift. If the game won't be moddable, that would be a big issue, expecially because there was no need to make the situation look as optimistic in regards of mods. I doubt that if Walters' statement is true, it'd generate that big of a sale output.

The reason they stopped releasing modding tools for Dragon Age outside of Origins is because they started using a lot of third party software for making DA2 and Inquisition that they don't have the rights to release to the public. I assume the same is true for Mass Effect?

I did see comparison, and Shepard and squad personally look quite better in the LE, if we compare it with the vanilla version I can say it's true for Wrex and Garrus. Which look a lot like they took the MEUITM textures and did a slight compression to look just a tiny bit off, so it doesn't look like someone copied their homework. Everyone else, Ashley in ME1 in armor, or in uniform, Sheploo in ME1, Kelly in ME2, Anderson in ME1, all look worse to me. Anderson in particular looks like the alien from the Halo Infinite meme. The models weren't built with this lighting in mind at the time, which results in changes in the lighting bringing out all the weak points of their models. Unironically, MEUITM/ALOT with project Merlin looks better. Planets look worse, because, again, changes to the lighting ruin the atmosphere and it's just not the same feeling anymore. I suppose that's the point, to create a new feeling for new fans, but it doesn't vibe with me. It's exactly like the Sleeping Dogs remaster, which was worse to the original in every way. Even without mods. I'm sticking to the games I already own, the ME1 DLC is free, either way and I have the ultimate version of ME2, with all the DLC. I'm unlikely to ever touch ME3 and even then, it's on gamepass. I don't need it. Unless Will Continue picks up directly where ME3 left off (haha, good one) I will never touch ME3 again. And even then, oof, it's a bad game that I would rather not go through again. Depending on the lighting, it looks even worse than vanilla. Let's not even go to modded, or modded + ReShade with RT. Yeah those look bad. Some far worse than others, but none are improvements.

Source for this modding news? I would be disappointed, but certainly not surprised, if this indeed the official position but I want to see that source if you have it, thanks! One of the three chief modders for the ME mod tool suite put it up on his blog. Nobody from Bioware seems to have contacted anyone in the circle of modders. He even tweeted Bioware about it, when Bioware tweeted about "working with the mod community". He simply stated that without modding tools from Bioware, they would have to make the entire modding tool suite from scratch for the new versions of Unreal the games are running on and that they simply weren't going to do it, as it took them years to develop the few tools they have made in the first place. It's simply not going to happen. If mod tools were going to happen, you would have heard something new about it from anyone. At this point, it's simply not coming.

I can understand fabulous, if that's what you're going for. Nothing wrong with it, but I'm not saving the galaxy like I came out of a drag show. Great for Queer representation, though. If you like it, you do you. Me? No.

I never said Sheploo looked better by using that picture as reference. Edit: I mean, I said that directly in the post you quoted. I also conceded that it could be due to that, or being more noticeable on 4K. I did see shots where I didn't notice it, though. I'm not sure if I'd see it directly, because if the CC is slightly more decent (and less bugged, as one of the good options in ME2 had an issue in animating the cheekbones with certain expressions), I might for a custom one.

Being able to name my save files, so I don't just have 45 save games in a row that say "Normandy."
Having the reticle disappear from squadmates when they're talking in ME1 and ME3 -- it is not great for immersion to see a big circle on their torso while they're delivering some moving line of dialogue. FIXED (at least in the ME1 elevators -- haven't seen ME3) Keeping Female Shepard's part from sparkling at the end of the suicide mission. Having her eyelashes fit her eyes instead of clipping. Having rouge that isn't weird oversaturated rectangles on Shepard's cheeks.
Better hairstyles, preferably with physics. FIXED (I don't think there is physics, though) Being able to create black and brown Shepards that don't look like white people in blackface (MEA was very good at this). Having a better way to import face codes. FIXED?
Having a hi res face model for Femshep that is consistent across all games. FIXED
Fixing the lighting in Cortez's romance scene so he doesn't disappear.
Being able to holster your gun in every game. Getting rid of the gawdawful "sexy run" in ME3. Having FemShep's running and walking animations resemble those of ME1.
Fixing the combat run in ME3, also Anderson's run during leaving Earth. NOT FIXED
Getting rid of robot cameltoe.
Fixing Tali's picture in ME3.
Getting rid of Sheploo "rape face" in ME2.
Giving the men in ME2 proportional hands. (Jacob's hands are tiny.)
Having FemShep properly interact with railings, obstacles, etc instead of floating/clipping.
Lowering the volume on "JOKER'S WAITING FOR YOU ON THE BRIDGE" at the end of Kaidan's romance scene in ME1. Reinstating gay Kaidan in ME1. Having the Mako drive more like the Nomad. FIXED
EDIT: Sorry, I just realized I put almost all visual improvements in this post. So much for paying attention. So I still want them, but I've scratched them out.
Well, from what I've seen so far several of the things I've wanted have been implemented. We'll see about the rest.

Damn you guys are harsh, for me at least in ME1 everyone looks way better. Actually Shep, Ashley and Kaidan benefited the most in my eyes. I saw people saying Pressly looks bad but he seems to look pretty much the same. They did Kelly dirty tho

I wonder if the ME3 journal system got an update to bring it up to par with ME1 and ME2. Haven't seen any screenshots of it yet.

What I'd like to have seen were:
ME:1 Tracking on 'explored' planets and systems similar to ME2/3. i.e. when zooming in on a planet, and/or gathering the resources it gives a visual indication that you have been there, and a percentage is shown on the galaxy map indicating the percentage of planets you have 'explored'.
Combat feedback - i.e. enemies recoil or stagger when hit.
In stores with multiple options such as human armors, alien armors etc. a method of cycling between the store options without the need to physically exit the NPC's screen, and then talk to the same NPC again.
A method of revealing mineral and ore nodes on the map. (bit lazy I know, but I find randomly driving around to search them out tiresome, and usually resort to checking the map on the wiki page).
ME:2 Not much as I consider it to be one of those 'near as damnit perfect' games. Only thing I can really think of is:
The ability to hide your helmet when using some of the non-modular armors.
Some better casual outfits. I don't really like any of the existing ones.
ME:3 Quest journal that has actual functionality.
The 'evade the Reapers' galaxy map minigame taken, thrown in the dustbin, jumped up and down on, set on fire, buried under a concrete slab and all references to it removed from history forever.
Total, 100% re-working of the whole game from Priority Earth onward.
