Cinderella and the Four Knights
I put this on my to watch list as the summary sounds somewhat interesting but I delayed viewing it for weeks as I had the notion it could be silly. Now I'm interested because the main lead, Park So-dam (who I thought looked rather cute), resembles Jeon Mi-do (female lead for Hospital Playlist). Both of them have small faces and similar shape of the eyes. The resemblance wasn't so clear cut until Park's hair was tidied up into the same style as Jeon Mi-do's.
This drama isn't going to be anything like Hospital Playlist though. It's pretty clear it's a story of romantic tangles and a young woman's struggle to support herself and enter university as her late mother wanted for her.

I really can't stand Nicholas Cage....But I am interested in the movie Jui Jitsu. More for the Bloodsport/The Quest meets Mortal Kombat aspect of it.
Also, on a different note, I am going to start watching "Shadow and Bone"

Also, on a different note, I am going to start watching "Shadow and Bone" Heard a lot about it. Let us know how that goes. Will do. I've tried to start it three times already today but either can't hear it, get distracted or just aren't in the mood.....But I will try again this evening and turn it up to a respectable level so that I can hear it and follow along. And I will certainly share my thoughts on it and let everyone/anyone know who might be interested.

The Light in Your Eyes / Dazzling Story of a young woman and her family. Neither she nor her brother were able to land jobs after graduation. The brother lazed around all day while the young woman did at least try to find jobs. However, she's unlucky in whatever she tried. When things go wrong, she tried to make it better by turning back time using a special watch she found as a young girl along the beach. She found that if she used it too often, time speed up for her and her alone. She decided not to use it any more and locked it away. However, as an adult, she couldn't help but used it. It went awry for her one day and she turned into an old lady in her 70s. I found the actress who played the older role fascinating. She's 79 but she looks to be around 60 and she's sprightly during the table rehearsal. She aged gracefully and well!

Finished season 4 of DS9. Talk about a season of ups and downs. Some really great episodes and some really shit ones. Anything with Garak and Ducat is a must see, the Klingon-centric ones are usually boring and ... I have to say, you really got to fuck up to make Klingons boring. Well, boring may be too strong a word. Predictable is more like it. Hopefully the Dominion plot picks up fast. The two-parter with the Romulan/Cardassian fleet getting BTFOd by the Jem'Hadar was one of the best episodes in the show. Well fucking played.

Episode 3 of The Nevers;
Much better. Still only 'good', but an improvement from 'ok'.
The world opened up a bit more and a few characters got fleshed out. There was a tragedy which - I should have seen coming and - will likely be the inciting event of the seasons story.
So, an increase in quality means I'll keep at it, for at least one more episode. No idea how many there are in total, though.

Now starting my third Ep of Shadow and Bone. It's confusing, very confusing at first because every scene int he Pilot they're introducing new characters with no context and you're left wondering "who are all these people, what are their names, why are they here and what are they doing and what is their role in the story????" It's kinda messy actually....I felt like I needed a Wiki page for reference. They really just throw a slew of characters at you on screen and expect the viewer to sort it out....OR more likely, have prior knowledge of the characters and the story from reading the books.
But I'm now starting Episode 3, starting to get a handle on things to the point where I can sit back and enjoy the story

I came across this clip and I want to watch this idiotic mad caper (I know what's the story about) but it's not on Netflix yet. The first segment is modern day where the protag, a chef, was being chased by detectives after he was set up for a fall. He fell into a pool from his apt and the accident landed him in a hospital in a coma. However, his consciousness was kicked back into the body of a comatose Queen in the Joseon Dynasty. Hence, his disbelief, horror and confusion in the initial running around segment in which he struggled to escape from his reality. When he saw the bucket of water, he thought he would automatically transport to his own reality when he dipped his head in. The consciousness of the Queen is in the body as well but his own took control when he popped in because she was in a coma. As the story unfolds, the real personality of the Queen would take over at times.

Mr Queen Oh this is definitely a mad caper I like. The story and characters are entertaining and funny. Moreover, I like that costume authenticity is maintained. What do I mean? Each Imperium era had its own fashion but sometimes, producers of South Korean period dramas would mix modern with the old, rendering the costumes unauthentic and ridiculous. I give them a miss because I don't want to get upset by the nonsense. Since this drama is set in the Joseon Dynasty, I'm glad to see costumes and setting are authentic. Edit. Wacky. I'm having a lot of fun watching this. I did some research too as there're comments on controversies. It turned out viewers are not happy the writers based the characters on real people. The King in the period drama was the second last King of Joseon. He reigned for only 13 years before he died, presumably poisoned by the infamous Andong Kim clan. The Joseon Kingdom was in its dying throes during this period. It's not a happy timeline to visit so it's weird the writers chose to write their comedy using this timeline and people. It would have been better if they had made up fake characters or choose another Joseon timeline. But if they chose to ignore the unhappy facts of the time period and made their own ending, it's fine with me. It's a comedy so I expect the ending to be good rather than a rain of tears.

So.....Shadow & Bone-- I'm about to start episode 7 of 8, and then, sadly, it's done-- for another TWO FRIGGIN' YEARS!!! Season 2 is spoken of in hushed and reverend tones....There's Cast buzz saying they really hope it gets the green light, but nothing yet to say that it will. But even if it does, it is hypothetically being projected to air in 2023....I don't want to wait that long. I will have forgotten about and given up on the story by then. It's like AVATAR. It's been nearly 12 years, and still nothing but hushed whispers on the deep (not dark) pages of the Web about the sequel. So yeah, I've basically given up on seeing it in my lifetime. And if I do, I'll be too old and blind to care or remember. And at this point with nothing to show for it....does anyone care about AVATAR anymore? I mean, don't get me wrong the first movie was incredible. Especially in theaters in the way it displayed 3D. Even now, any time I watch Avatar I quite enjoy it-- especially the Director's Cut with the added footage. But let's just leave it at that shall we? The first movie was good enough, great enough on its own. At this point in time considering how much time has passed, we don't need the sequels. Any of them. But I hate that many things on NETFLIX are following that same trend, especially Series.

Mr Queen I thoroughly enjoyed this wacky period drama. As I surmised, the writers rewrote "history". The modern day protag's (chef) journey back into the past wasn't for naught as he initially thought. He changed the lives of the Queen who tried to kill herself out of despair, the King who gained knowledge that helped him changed the lives of his people / kingdom and the chef changed his own future with his actions and discovered he was a better person than he was before. Worth a revisit ay time.

We tried it because it popped up in our 'recommended' viewing feed and was only 8 25 minute (including credits and a short "previously on") episodes. Knocked out the first 5 last night.

Absolutely, great concept and the whole family enjoyed it, I loved the car. I like the idea of it but I think for me none of the characters have stood out yet, someone needs to give a great performance or be more dramatic in terms of the actual characters but early days. Did you finish the whole series?

Finished Hello My Twenties. It followed the lives of five young women who lived together in a shared house. The oldest who had to juggle paying medical bills, rental, etc with a young brother who's in a coma for six years, her mother racking up debts and living in delusional hope the son would recover, her studies in the final year in university and sexual harassment and bullying working part time at a restaurant. Her housemates were; a suspected prostitute, a journalist who's infamous among her friends and colleagues for lying and two university juniors.
Moving on to Nokdu Flower. A period piece set in the dwindling era of the Joseon Dynasty, the fictional story follows the lives of two half brothers in the two years of the Donghak Peasant Revolution in 1894 - 1895. It's not going to be a happy story. Korea was annexed in 1910 by the Japanese so I'm not sure if something of the end of the Joseon Dynasty will be shed in the epilogue, if any.
