Dragon Age Game Awards Teaser

So I skimmed but the amusing thought did occur to me:

BioWare fans: Cool trailer tho where's our title?

BioWare devs: *chuckles nervously* Whose going to tell them our game is just going to be titled 'Dragon Age'?

Also the tweet from Dragon Age is super...inteeerrreeesstting.

Kinda wild that I found the teaser in 2018 like a thousand times more intense and satisfying. I have no real desire to re-watch this teaser.

Disappointing that it was so short and that there isn't a name - unless, as others have suggested, this is just "Dragon Age". But it was cool to see - effectively - moving concept art. Morrigan narrated the Fires Above and became an advisor. Perhaps Varric will be an advisor.

The little magic hologram of a - door sign? - was cool. Magic is clearly far more integrated into daily life in Tevinter than elsewhere in Thedas we've been (which isn't a surprise, of course).

Seems to be the same castle from different perspectives, it has those glowy wispy energy looking strands flowing around it in both images, and the towers' positions seem to match.

Honestly, this is basically what I expected minus a title reveal. I'm not sure why they're being so coy about it. They're aware they can always change it later, right?

The second one could just be how it looks at a different time of day from a different position - perhaps the Gardens from Luck in the Gardens  

I was noticing the repeating sun imagery too. I think past marketing also had that circle-with-sun-rays motif? I wonder what it means.

Quick thoughts, as I watch Succession: Varric may end up being (just as someone else suggested) a "Morrigan" type. Not in it for the full game, but in smaller doses. The Banner; any one else notice the "red" sworded figure underneath the hanging mosaic? Reference to Andruil?? Maybe?

Okay...back to Succession. Husband giving me the side-eye.

One thing I'd say, about the various tweets and the fact that Geoff mentioned it during DA Day: given what we got, it seems to me it was damage control due to announcing the departures of Darrah and Hudson. It'd have been better if we had a different timeframe of the latter, and no mentioning of DA before the event. As a teaser, given that the game isn't due to be released next year (and possibly beyond 2022 as well), it's not that bad. The problem is that the way they teased, it's clear that people would've expected more.

It's the same mistake they did in the past, unfortunately, although this time, I think it's more related to balancing the departures.
