I was noticing the repeating sun imagery too. I think past marketing also had that circle-with-sun-rays motif? I wonder what it means. It's not just the paintings though. Bioware Logo has sun rays, followed immediately by a transition of blinding bright sunlight.
technically, I guess those feet kinda look like Warror feet. So maybe a Warrior does happen to be in the trailer. |

Is that the same tall city/palace thingy in both images? Definitely thinking it's the Black City, like I said earlier. Not only is it a similar silhouette, but what other structure do we know with a tendency to pop up at a distance in wildly different places?

So I skimmed but the amusing thought did occur to me: BioWare fans: Cool trailer tho where's our title? BioWare devs: *chuckles nervously* Whose going to tell them our game is just going to be titled 'Dragon Age'? Also the tweet from Dragon Age is super...inteeerrreeesstting. Maybe it's just called Dragon Age, because it's the end of the Dragon Age? Meaning by the end of the game there is a new age? I don't know just bullshiting here.

Ok - must remember to become better at managing expectations  Honestly, this is basically what I expected minus a title reveal. I'm not sure why they're being so coy about it. They're aware they can always change it later, right? Intellectually, I know you're right. They were never going to show - much - more than what we just got. But I confess to letting myself day-dream a little. With regards to the subtitle, yeah...who knows. If it is just 'Dragon Age', then the 'soft reboot' becomes a little firmer than I had expected it to be.

Ok, one thing I just noticed. The title of the video is "The Next Dragon Age Official Teaser Trailer - 2020 Game Awards". Using the word "next" seems to me it isn't titled rather than "Dragon Age" being the title.

rewatching lot of subtle sun imagery. Tortoise monsters are in a dessert that simultaneously has water puddles. Darkspawn still look like cartoon characters A mage, a melee rogue, and an archer rogue *bleh* they gotta remake Egghead's face, this is almost as bad as the trailer morrigan before DAI dropped. Can someone's chin even divvit that much? Re: the tortoises, could that be a shoreline? Maybe a desert lake or a sea.
Agreed on Solas. Needs skin texture and a bit warmer tone, too. I can't place what his current look reminds me of, but its not pleasant. lol

It seems like they are ramping things up on the marketing of this game in the last few months, and yet it still seems years away. Kind of confused what they are going for. Well if this is the OFFICIAL TEASER, it means that they have OFFICIALLY TEASED new Dragon Age game and that is different from the teaser from 2 years back, which was sorta-kinda unofficial. That may mean more for them from both marketing and stage of game development perspective than it is for us, at least at the moment. We'll have to see what happens next.

Someone should fire off a tweet to BioWare even if they are super vague about it vagueness is better then nothing...and being super vague will be an indication that it won't be entitled just 'Dragon Age' otherwise they'd tell us so.

Solas looks amazing til he turned around lol. Maybe it's the uncanny valley, reminds me of Morrigan in the DAI trailer. I'm sure his model will look entirely different in the game tbh so not that worried about his appearance. (I mean those robes he's wearing...wow)
It would be interesting to see Meredith and Corypheus return. Why would they be in the painting at all? I think it's definitely the black city. Solas' murals have similar sun rays in DAI.

We already knew all of that, even considering the new protagonist was basically confirmed by the summary.
